    Its AMPA receptor which allows influx of sodium ions which furthur removes magnesium blockage from NMDA receptor channel & facilitates its opening.

    NMDA receptor's channel opens, allowing the flow of ions, particularly calcium along with sodium & potassium into the postsynaptic neurone. Among these ions, calcium is particularly important for various cellular processes, including synaptic plasticity, which is crucial for learning and memory.
