Awesome video, it shows and you explain the reality of up grading a vehicle, it shows the hassle and extra work it requires to replace aged parts, not like other shows where they tell you what bolts to remove, show the old part on the floor and the new one installed, making the average do-it -yourselfers try it and fail and show up at a professional shop with their vehicle on a flat bed and a box of parts.

That was a great video. I did my 03 Avalanche and yeah bud-dy those bars were stuck but the air hammer knocked them right out. Good job guys.👍

Props for actually showing how much of a pain it can be getting torsion keys and bars apart. Especially up here in Wisconsin, that stuff will NEVER come apart easy. You will be cutting keys off the bars as well as cutting apart the lower control arms to remove the torsion bars if necessary.

I like leveling kits, it's perfect it just levels your Front with your rear.

What lifted the rear up ?? Nice to see real work torison key removal. Oddly never showed how he got the bar out of the control arms. On my 94 k1500 I had to take the control arms out with the bars, keys and crossmember into the shop for them to heat them up. Took them a while. Just had the trans held up my jack. Soaking them for weeks with pb blaster and hammering them back and forth weeks at time while in the air never helped one bit.

I cranked out my factory 04 keys and I did notice a difference in the ride quality. I brought them down a bit and it felt much better. I'm thinking of getting some new keys for a little more height.

Yeah don't crank the factory keys as they aren't meant to be pushed. You'll only cause fatigue on your torsion bars and end up replacing them down the road.

I have a 2001 Silverado z71 I am looking into putting a leveling kit on and hopefully fitting 33's on it but I was wondering what you guys do as far as the speedometer and how to adjust it so it is still reading the right speed. Do you happen to have a video on that. Also what has to be done with it as far as an alignment, will it need a new alignment done when I do that.

That is way difficult than I thought lol. I just gave up this project.

I just did one of these and the crossmember looks like it’s at a crazy angle now. I don’t know if the bushings are work or what? Is it normal for it to flex a lot?

Doesn't it damage the cv axles if the factory ones are turned all the way up and you didn't mention you have a alignment it changes the camber

Just to elaborate, thats pretty much the best fit according to most of the guys selling 3 inch kits. That or about a 290/70 give or take. One nice thing about you tube is we get to share. I learned a trick by notching those dam pesky keys. They call my the guy who tough MacGyver and couldnt come up wit the hack

nice video it's hard to find videos that show 2002 2005 torsion key install on avalanches I purchased Pro Comp torsion keys and the shocks to go with it and I'm very disappointed that there's still a rake on my truck like I never installed anything but I saw your video that you put a longer bolts I had to use the OEM and I think it's bottoming out do you guys sell the extended bolts thanks

How far do you need to put those bolts back in the support bracket? I saw he undid the clamp and it came down. But then he ran the key back up with that bolt. Do you just run the bolt till you can’t go any further?

That bolt is height adjustment. Typically run it 1/2 - 3/4 of the way in but total depends on what height is needed to level the vehicle. -Banker

Ok I have a 04 avalanche z71 w/o cladding. What I’m wanting to do is put 3” rough country leveling kit with hostile switch blade 20x12 -44 undecided on what tire I want to go with but most definitely 33x12.50 is this possible? How much cutting? Full not cal mod? What am I going to have to do? Need advice!!

A 2 1/2" lift brought it level? On my 04 Avalanche the rear bumper is 8 1/2 in. higher than the front one. It's all stock as far as I know but the rear coil springs appear new. Any idea of the rake on your project before leveling kit install? Can you recommend a leveling kit for me?

Do the offset make that much difference my 02 has same size tire not leveled but factory 20s with 0 offset

Did you have to cut out the stops to prevent the upper control arm from bottoming out? Local shop in Houston has recommended cutting those off the frame just wanted to see if anyone had come across that suggestion.

Yes go a head and cut them and then you will buy ball joints ore often. You never fully crank torsion bars

I have a 02 Av 220000 mi, I have 1 1/2" Chevy sag on the left rear, shocks aren't that old and thinking about putting in a 1 1/2" spacer for the leak before leveling the front. is this fine to do.

Its a stock coil, leveling kit just brings the front up to match the rear!

I have a 2003 Avalanche 1500 with a lift on it. I think the lift is 4 or 5 inches but not sure because I bought it used and the dealer wasn't sure. How can I find out how high the lift is? I need new shocks

Is 275 tires ok to run on 10 inch wheels? Is the wheel sticking out past the tire much? Asking because I'm looking on the manufacturer website and it says up to 9.5 wide wheels.

so 20x9 +0 with 275/55/20 should fit OK on leveled 03 z71 avalanche with little to no trimming?

You should always get an alignment after installing new suspension

This is BS . You don’t need a leveling kit to fit 275-55-20 . Stock is fine! I have an 02 tahoe sitting on 20X10 wheels wrapped in 275-60-20’s! And all I did was trim the front inner well .
