Lifted Dodge Ram on 35's Burried! Wow didn't look that soft!!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Drove into a spot that didnt look that soft and decided to get out and walk ahead to see what it was like farther in. Got back to the truck and went to take off (thats where the video starts) but evidently the truck already broke through the top layer of hard dirt and it was nothing but soft ass clay underneath!
Truck is a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 V8 (360) with 5" lift kit and 35" Pro Comp Mud terrain tires. Truck has Detroit TrueTrac differentials front and back along with 4.56 gearing. Winch used was a Warn 9.5cti multi mount winch.

In my youth, we used to go through similar places on the way to where we duck hunted. We were using a VW Bug that was configured as a cross between a Baja Bug and a Mud Bug. Looking back, it's really surprising how many places we managed to get that old Bug considering we didn't have a winch. If we got stuck, we just got out and picked the rear of the car up to move it to the side or pushed it until it got some traction. We also found out that those cars really would float if you got in water a bit too deep for them. Kind of surprising that we could fit 5 big guys, their shotguns, and all the rest of the hunting gear in that little car.

Grumpy OldMan Sounds like a good time. Yeah the light weight sure does help, my truck is really heavy for mudding unless I put on some Super Swamper Boggers and even then its too heavy Lol. Wish i could afford a nice built up jeep with about 700hp 42's and long travel suspension.

All that would happen is that you would be able to get yourself stuck in even more inaccessible places. :) I've seen ground that was so muddy or marshy that even tractors got stuck. Tracked vehicles often do good in a lot of terrain, but even they can get stuck. That's why the Army has the tank recovery vehicles. :) The single boom hydraulic excavator does pretty good over a lot of terrain since it is able to use its boom to pull itself through places where the tracks are not getting traction or to even move dirt around to build its own "road", but even they sometimes need "something extra". For example, in the really marshy terrains, they have tracks that are considerably wider and longer while also providing some flotation ability.

Grumpy OldMan Up where I live we have bottomless bogg aka swamp, muskeg etc. My dad use to build powerlines across it and they had lost complete cranes, excavators, dozers. Once they broke through down they would go and completely disappear. So yeah a lot of the mud up here doesn't have a hard bottom like other places around the country and most people don't realize that. If it has a solid bottom usually its no problem to drive across. Yeah, your right i would probably be stuck way way out in the middle of nowhere if i had a jeep like that! Sure would be a good video and be a ton of fun though.

Does anyone know if a 3.75 lift kit would work on a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 with 35" tires and 17" rims? Also, does anyone know the cost of labor to have the kit installed if she buys the kit online? Any help would be appreciated!!!

The mud is a mix of clay and bottomless bog its just a pain in the ass to drive through. Maybe if I had some super swamper boggers to go through it I would have made it a little farther before getting stuck but this mud only got worse the farther in you went. I'm so tired of hearing that my tires don't have any tread i'm gonna go outside right now and take video of em then upload it so you can see the tread on em! Subscribe so you don't miss it :-)
