In this video, I Lifelist at the most polluted river in Brazil - the Tietê River. The lower Tietê River in Itapuí, São Paulo, is much less polluted than its section in Center City São Paulo; however, it is still far away from being a "pristine river." That being said, that portion of the River is still clean enough to sustain a certain range of species that are "hardy" enough to thrive in it.

Cool. That Pacu looks like it may have had it's caudal fin nipped but it's brother with teeth. For years, there was a Pacu named Igor that had originally been in a tank at a restaurant in Boca Ratorn Florida, got too big, ended up with a friend that had a pet store, got too big to house, and then found a home in the Non Native Fish Laboratory there (that where the feasibility of introducing Peacock bass to SoFla was done). When that closed, he was moved to the Loxahatchee River Center in Jupiter. His face was deformed from his early days unfortunately but he was 26 lbs back when I used to go see him at the lab. Google him! edit: That Geophagus was pretty!

We say the a in Geophagus just as it is said in the word way. Great aquarium fish, it is a sand sifter, and a slow grower.

Pacu are also sold in the aquarium trade. Tbh, it’s a very unethical practice. They grow waaaaay too big for the average hobbyist. Just about every tropical freshwater exhibit you go to in the USA will have rescued Pacu stocked there. They’re MASSIVE! Glad to come back and BINGE EPF!!! 🤟🤟 Love ya Leo!!
I loke ot when you are honest how long it is in between bites. In the beginning i felt such a looser when i had to wait a looong time for 1 bite since it seems everyone on youtube is carching fish at every cast.
