It almost feels empty in Ultimate, with him never being able to react to Banjo, Terry, or whoever else comes next. Same with his Deep Web streams, never saw anything like them.

@God Sammit Yep, and there is even a whole side quest to unlock the encounter. I'm not too informed, but you need to check a bridge for an abandoned Nintendo Switch, charge it with the power of Hype, and then use it on a grave near a church. You are then bathed in god rays and are asked a series of questions, of which I dont know what they are. If you answer correctly Etika descends from the heavens to reclaim his Switch and do battle with you.

@@Trimint123 I don't think they did. Etika at the time needed help, not respect. What they did was 100% right, but it wasn't 'paying respect'. You just don't say that to a living person

Keep in mind, Etika has a unique title in KFAD. He is the ONLY person to ever defeat a character that would go on to be king. KFAD1 was single-elimination, so obviously Hypercam never lost, and he didn't return as a fighter in KFAD2. Meanwhile, DJPK was undefeated in KFAD2, but lost to Etika in KFAD1. Etika is the only person to date to triumph over someone who would become a king. And that is awesome.

For those who did not know (which is very few of you probably) Nintendo Power was supposed to be Joy-Con Men, and it was a team between Etika and Reggie. The Fire Emblem and Xenoblade rips are Etika's, not Reggie's, but he kept them probably as a tribute as well.

I didn't think of it at the time, but the fact that this rip "brought back" Etika, a character everyone thought was out of the tournament and the triumphant and up-tempo remix of Lifelight makes it sound like Etika is the Kingdom Hearts-style secret superboss of KFAD2. Even after you've beaten Unrestrained Hypercam 2 there's still one last challenge...

RIP Etika. I still remember seeing Etika talking about the original KFAD tournament and just being really happy about being included. It's nice to see a tribute like this. Fantastic work, Geshtro. It's simultaneously a banger and a really fitting tribute to a legend gone too soon. This is a new favorite.

I was one hour late, but happy birthday Etika. Hope you and everyone else is having a damn good one.

I come back to this to think about all of the stuff Etika missed out on, the good times the fans and community never got to share and celebrate with him. That his girls of Min Min, Pyra, and Mythra made it into Smash. The sequel to Breath of the Wild is so close to coming out. Sakurai making a KZread channel. Fire Emblem Engage with all of the fun he would have had there. The true impact that he'd have on everyone, even while gone. Luckily he never had to see some of the horrible stuff the world as a whole went through in the years since he left, but I know he would have made it better for some through those times. He maybe shouldn't have had to have that responsibility, it's what got him into the mindset that ended up hurting him, where no one was able or willing to give him the help he showed others. We miss you Etika, and thank you for giving us a damn great time.

i really do respect how this was handled as a tribute to him instead of using him to generate traction for the tournament not saying silva or geshtro would but it makes me happy that there are still people out there who still have a sense of morality who still would take the possible risk to upload a tribute to someone possibly knowing that i could be taken as trying to get cash off of someones death or as a tactic to promote the channel or tournament

This was by far the best time to upload this rip. DJ Professor K, the one who lost to Etika in round one in the original King For Another Day, just won the entire second season with no losses, all on Christmas Eve of all days. Thank you Silva Team and every single goddamn person involved for making what is possibly the greatest event ever held on this channel. Thank you Etika for providing years worth of content with your reactions and general fun-loving attitude. May god rest your soul, and may we all reawaken the undying light. Have a wonderful Christmas Eve (or Christmas) everyone, without all of you we wouldn’t have gotten KFAD2, and we wouldn’t have gotten this rip.

i didn't care much when i saw there was a lifelight rip, but i was confused about who the thumbnail character was and thought it'd be a joke contestant or something...... then the silhouette actually became clear and it hit me like a truck i'm so glad this exists, and if it were the last video of the tournament i'd be completely happy with that - i don't think there'd be a better way to end this entire event than to pay respect to not just the only veteran not to make it back, but a guy who was such a huge part of the entire kind of internet culture most of us are part of i really hope etika'd be happy knowing the tributes people have made in celebration of him and all the good memories he gave us, he deserves every bit of it #JoyConBoiz4Ever
