🫣 LIFE UPDATE: I quit my job, Moving out for the first time & Guilt leaving my parents

Hi guys!! A much needed major life update, i finally quit my 9-5 corporate job and im moving out for the first time out of my parents house! I never thought I'd take early retirement this soon but I am so excited for the next chapter of my life! I honestly quit my job without a backup plan, but i have trust in Allahs plans and see a bright future ahead inshallah! If you are considering quitting your corporate job, before you quit your job, make sure you are financially and emotionally stable! Alsoooo, i'm finally moving out of my parents house and living on my own! This wasnt an easy decision and truthfully i have a lot of guilt and shame for moving out. It is alot of mixed emotions. Perhaps because i am unmarried or maybe because in the south asian culture it is not the norm to move out before marriage/or to live alone. I know for some of you, the pressure of single south asian women staying at home is real. Everyone's situation is different. I am coping with my mixed emotions and would love yalls advice!

Coming from Europe and being a revert I never understood why people feel guilty “leaving” their parents and moving out. They are adults who will be just fine! Thy should want the best for you and your growth. Honestly, I imagine some parents might also want to experience being kids-free in the house again in their older age. As long as they are not needing your assistance due to illness, there should be absolutely nothing wrong with moving away as an adult! I feel like so often it’s limiting people and not letting them experience life for themselves and be truly self reliant

After over 12 years as a registered nurse, I decided to quit two years ago. It was a difficult choice, but life is too short to be dreading coming to work every day. True happiness cannot be purchased with money. But, friends, I'm not telling you to quit your work or close your business; rather, be wise!

First of all congratulations for making two such big decisions, that's some real courage right there!! Second of all, i get you that sometimes girls are shamed for not being married and when they try to move out blah blah ,. just don't feel guilty or ashamed of that. You can still do a whole lot for your parents even when you're not living with them. And i hope this new beginning brings lots of happiness, guidance, peace, success and comfort to you by Allah, Ameen. I'm so excited to see your new content in your new home, Jaserah's Home !! 🫶🏻🫶🏻♥️♥️♥️✨✨✨

I’m so glad you shared this! I’m also in my 30s and not married and I want to move out.. but I have the same guilt of leaving my parents behind(even though they encourage me and think it will help me grow)… I think part of me thinks that maybe I’ll move and then just end up alone! Or what about my parents. Lol I’m not sure what it is and where these fears come from?? Then I’m like if I rent I’m wasting money but if I own then I’m risking a lot(house are expensive in my area). But excited to follow and get inspiration from your journey!

Congratulations on moving out and starting this next phase in life! May Allah make it easy for you :) I also moved out on my own (33 yrs old too) just this past summer and 100% understand the guilt part. However, looking over the past few months I think it helped me appreciate my parents more now than ever and it improved our relationship for the better. I still feel guilt, but getting an apartment close by (i still live in the same city) helped me get over the guilt. I'm around when they really do need me and I always make sure to see them at least once a week, or every other week and actually do things with them like going out to eat, watching a movie etc. It helps to call them at least every few days just to check in or talk about my day too. I still have my room at my parent's house too and try to stay there during the weekends when my schedule allows it. It definitely gets better with time! Alhamdulillah for supportive parents

As Salaamu Alaikum. I definitely understand the guilt feelings, for me it was more of missing my family and feeling sad for the first few months of moving out. I was 25 when I did. The last week before I did, I found myself just staring at them and my favorite parts of the house, like I was trying to create mental copies. In the long run, and fast forward to today, I'm 39, it was truly a very rewarding thing. I learnt soo many new life skills and the appreciation for my parents has just gone up notches. At the end of the day, family is everything and family is where the heart and home are. May Allah bless you immensely on this new journey, and place immense Barakah in all of your endeavors. Aameen.

Glad you’re just leasing because this way it’s just a trial basis. If you’re already finding it hard and keep coming home, maybe that’s the better place for you. There’s no shame in leaving but also no shame in admitting that home is home and you made a mistake and changed your mind. Give it a few months and then reevaluate.

Such a brave move on your part on leaving your job of 10 years and moving out! I have a similar story of moving out after I turned 30 and also went through a divorce after a short Nikkah… I can resonate with all the sentiments of guilt and apprehension and fear of ending up alone.. I think we’re so used to prioritizing others that we forget to think about ourselves. Insha’Allah the next ventures in your life bring more barakah and success 🥰 💕

So exciting! Congratulations ❤. And yes I completely understand where you’re coming from. I come from the same culture (Pakistani) and being a girl especially oldest daughter/sibling, it’s so hard to make moves like such 😭. So much guilt and worry. But we have to remember to prioritize ourselves too. 😢 for how long will we keep sacrificing our wants/desires or needs. Anyways, I’m so looking forward to your next content. I really want to move out as well but it’s hard with being a student and not being stable enough to do so. But I’m really tired of living with my family now, I need time and space to myself. Please make a little dua for me 🥲. May Allah bless and reward you. May this new journey be easy and full of success and blessings for you 🤲🏽💕✨

Hi Jaserah, thank you for making this video! I’m a corporate girlie too - I’m turning 33 in 2 months, unmarried, and also live at home. I’ve been thinking about moving out for the past couple of years but exactly the same as you previously - just felt like it wasn’t right to. Well done for having the courage to do so - it sometimes feels like you’re alone in these circumstances, but it’s nice to see a beautiful young lady going through the same thing and handling it with such elegance and grace. Thank you again for sharing this. Wishing you every happiness & success in your new place insha’Allah. I can’t wait to see it 🥲🥰😘❤️
