I am so touched and honored you could get lost on my little videos...I get lost in them too and sometimes on Fridays I do not want to come out and join the world again....but I do, happily....a little worse for wear! I have found that at our age... it becomes more important than ever, for us to remember not to take ourselves too seriously anymore. The time is running out and I believe now, more than ever, we need to embrace the time that remains and strive to choose to be happy and lift up those around us, especially our friends and family. We need to show the younger people what’s important in life and we need to do it by example. Our turns are ending, and we want to be remembered as loving, giving, and above all, kind and caring. So I’m no longer focused on me or why and what about my life, as much as what I can do for those who are coming up next. And it’s a great feeling to realize what’s the most important in our lives, no matter what age we are. ❤️

Oh my this was such a beautiful video story. From the beautiful young girl saying looking back “accepting Jesus Christ as her Savior”. Wow.. And the gentleman who lost his wife after 55 years of marriage. Seems like you were exactly where you were supposed to be at those moments. I honestly felt like I was there as you told each story. From your grandfather to your husbands to the lovely people you met.

I always speak from my heart after watching... And I rely on creating a picture from the emotions that inspire me. Two words came to mind instantly... and then the moral to the story Precious moments are not porcelain.. They are the perfection of human kindness and generosity The beauty of humility and memory is love... Real love So I asked the questions today “ how do I make a difference “ “ can I make a difference?” And I saw the answers in this video. They are made every time I smile at someone Every time I hold a door Every time I listen to someone’s pain every time I hug my dog And every time I say I care I care for all of my friends here all of us women, who share our story. Susan, Thank YOU for caring❤️

The gentleman crying over the loss of his wife brought tears. You made his day better because you were there to listen. Sometimes all we need is someone to listen. I lost my husband 6 years ago. My loss made me more sensitive to others grieving. I try to be their good listener. I once read to grieve means you were loved. I was truly loved. He was truly loved. I think that is what helps us go into the next season of our life. Thank you for being there for that gentleman. You were his angel that day.

Hi Susan, It's Saturday night and your touching story of the older gentleman married 55 years and grieving over the loss of his wife really brought me to tears. My husband and I celebrated 56 years of marriage this week and I can't imagine my life without him. We were highschool sweethearts. You were meant to be there to talk to that older man and to listen to him ...I feel there are no coincidences ...but souls that are meant to connect at a certain time in life ..even for a few moments. You are such a gift to us and a special friend that provides wisdom, insight and compassion as we share this journey. Love hearing about your dates and your Jazz Club outings ...and I just love the dress and earrings you have on. That L'Oreal serum is calling my name. Give the Dez a special hug, so glad he's so protective of you. Love you my sweet friend. Hugs.....Sherry

Speaking of ex-husbands, my Mother's 1st husband, my Daddy, was her first love. She "worshipped" him as her sister told me. He ran off with his younger secretary, but Mama never lost her love for him. She never spoke badly of him to her 3 children. Once at a grandson's graduation, Daddy left early and got lost wandering around looking for his truck. I told Mother that he shouldn't be allowed to drive being so forgetful. She jumped on me and said, "Anita, don't ever talk like that about your Daddy! Everybody grows old!" She remarried to a wonderful man, but when Daddy died, she was shook to her core. Even my step-father told me that Mama was upset. He said, "after all, he was the father of her children". Love does runs deep!

Also, I MUST add this: I am a cat person, but every time I see that little Desi face I just want to kiss it a hundred times!! 💕💕. Please, if you are ever inspired during the week to add an extra talk to us, we will very much be delighted!! 😊. Have you ever considered a closet tour? It doesn't have to be perfect. Susan, I hope you know that you gave that elderly man exactly what he needed that day. A chance to speak about his beloved wife. The fact that he cried matters not. You allowed him to open a door of grief that he needed to open. Our society is embarrassed by people who are grieving. No one wants to hear sadness. No one wants to be around someone who is maybe acting a little strangely because of the state of grief they are in. And most people are afraid to ask you how you are doing after losing a loved one for fear of having to listen to the truth. Giving that man the opportunity to speak about his wife, to cry a bit, and share the grief he is feeling helped him to process it and move forward a bit. Thank you for doing that. Speaking totally from experience here. Ive been to the bottom of that well and had to claw my way back up and out. Not an easy task.

Susan: I truly loved this video for so many reasons. The part that stands out the most is the gentleman who lost his wife and cried tears because he loves and misses her. The one thing I know foresure, from losing my son, is that we want people to say their names and ask about them. Even if we cry it’s okay because it’s tears of happiness that someone is acknowledging our loved one. While it may hurt deep into our soul we’re forever grateful because we get to say their name. 💕💗❤️ Thank you a millions times over for this video and talking about grief. We all handle grief in different ways and that’s okay. Wishing you a peaceful and happy weekend!!!!

You are speaking my language! As I live this final, golden stage of life I sometimes sit and think and wonder about life in general -- what's it all about? And everytime, in the end, the answer, for me, is love. Loving ourselves, our families, strangers. This does not mean enabling or sacrificing our well-being, but having empathy while keeping ourselves safe and healthy. Both times I've had cancer, my life has been touched by true angels, amazing people who come out of nowhere and lift me in some way: a hug, a story, a meal, a blanket, a card. And nothing makes my day brighter than doing my best to add a little more love on the top and pass it forward. I met a new breast cancer survivor this weekend who was really struggling. When she found out I was stage 4 lung cancer she asked me, in tears, "How do you do this? How will I do this? I don't know," and I gave her the only answer I could, "Always come from a place of love." Instantly her breathing changed, her tears slowed. She smiled. I smiled when I heard of the grace, dignity and love you gave to that grieving, lonely man. Keep walking in love. Blessings to you and Desi and Bill and has caregivers for another good week.

There is a quote "Destiny is no matter of chance", William Jennings Bryan. It wasn't by chance that you crossed paths with the man in the park. It was your destiny way back when you're grandfather used to take you there. If not for him you probably wouldn't go there from time to time. You were meant to meet him on that day. He needed to talk about his beloved wife and were there when he needed someone. Nice he has his dogs, they'll be some comfort to him now and a reason to get out and about. Such a beautiful video my friend... Thank you.. You know, it’s kind of ironic what you asked for where Bill is concerned. Those have been my exact words the past couple of weeks when I am praying for him and a few others I know and care for who are on the same journey. And oh my gosh, your story about the man you met who had recently lost his wife just touched me to my core. That was no coincidence. I believe that with all my heart. In my line of work I am blessed to witness how just the right person is in just the right place at just the right time. And I have been so honored and blessed to have been the one chosen to be there for people at times and it will literally take my breath away afterwards. I also have the privilege of hearing from some of the folks with whom I comforted and here is what I have learned and what I want for you to know. You made a difference in this mans life. You did!!! What a gift you were. Lastly, I will keep your little one in my prayers as well. Thank you for sharing that. I had no idea just how sick you were! Oh my gosh!! God love you. I hope you have a very blessed week. Give Mr. Desi a great big hug from me. Love you. Sue

As to wearing all of those clothes...a friend and I used to thrift together. We'd come upon beautiful pieces in New York City, remarking on our good fortune. But we had no where to wear them. We had this silly routine of starting a fake conversation when someone walked down our aisle. "You know I have that event in Paris next month. The trip is already going to be so expensive. What do you think about this for a day look?" She'd reply and we'd go on like that for several minutes. Of course all of the items went back on the rack. It was fun to pretend and fun to imagine what onlookers thought of our busy social calendars.

Oh thank you for your lovely vid today. It touched me in so many ways. I cried as you spoke about the old gentleman - with tears for him and for everyone who has lost someone near and dear and for my beloved parents and I even cried for myself for lost loves. Life is so precious and moments need to be cherished. Happiness and finding joy and love and being kind and gracious are so important. You and Desi lift my heart and I can’t help but smile all the way through. Love and Hugs. ❤️🤗

Hi Susan, you're glowing and are so beautiful! I'm so glad you're feeling much better. So sorry to hear you were ill and ended up in the hospital from the awful food poisoning. I spent 3 nights and 4 days with a loved one who was hospitalized two weekends ago. Thank GOD my loved one is fine now. But I haven't been on KZread much lately either because I've been so down and very sad not only for my dear loved one but I'm going through lots of heartache within the last few weeks with certain family members who decided to turn ugly and have betrayed me and my trust. Now, I feel I can no longer trust them like I used to, and this hurts me very deeply. I've been carrying the pain caused by these certain family members for too long and what recently happened was the straw that broke the camel's back. I've been feeling quite alone, ostresized and completely unloved lately too but watching your video just now has made me feel not so alone and for this, I thank you. ❣️🌺Thank you for your candid talks about love, life and feeling lonely and for sharing your beauty product tips and philosophical viewpoints. You're a beautiful soul inside and out. By the way, here's a wonderful movie which is my fave, and I highly recommend you watch "Paradiso". I've never felt so alone as I do right now but I know it's only temporary, and Almighty GOD knows it. I know that the evil enemy satan is working overtime to break up my family and many other family's out there more so than ever before because he knows his time is short. I know we don't wrestle with flesh and blood but principalities in high places. So what I'm going through is spiritual warfare but I can surely use the prayers and encouragement dear Friend. I've been meditating on this scripture verse to help me stay strong: "Greater is he that is in you, than he that's in the world." - 1 John 4:4. Take care. God bless you always. Love you too. 💕🙏🌺❣️

I can comment before even finishing this....Sues, I'm so thankful for your words, sweet stories and for the comforting words of some sweet women who come here, too. Some of us have had husbands or may still have them, children we love with our whole being, with holding nothing back from our children. But, lots of us have lost or had to let go of friendships of girlfriends in our own towns, for whatever reason. I think even though we may never get to meet eachother, many of us connect with eachother on a very deep level and definitely with you, you sweet, sensitive, caring girl. Hugs to you and Dez....🤗... Your conversation with the elderly man was a blessing. When we're grieving, people don't mean to be unkind or cold, but they get uncomfortable and don't know what to say, so they don't say anything. They think of a reason to leave. You didn't. You stayed present with him in his pain, and that was so kind. I'm glad Desi sleeps with you. I kind of picture you putting little pajamas on him and reading to him. He deserves all the kindness and comfort he can get, and I know you give that to him. It breaks my heart to think of him in a closet. Kiss him for me! You really are an extraordinary woman, and this channel really is a gift. Thank you for all you do. So much love~

Susan: You get more beautiful every week! What a poignant video tonight. Such a touching story about the man and his wife. Men really do feel so much more than we may sometimes think. You gave him the gift of being able to share his love and memories. And the loss was still so raw. Life is so beautiful and yet it hurts so much at times. Thank you for being vulnerable and open with others, and having compassion. I agree with the beautiful girl's answer to a successful life. She just glowed! And I love that Desi gives the side eye to dates. All great love stories have a little jealousy somewhere. He's protective and somewhat possessive of his newfound love and kindness. How it has changed his life...and yours. 💜 The photography was beautiful in this one.

Hi Susan - as with many of your other subscribers, I too was touched by the gentleman who had just lost his wife. After watching your wonderful video, I reviewed in my mind loved ones I have lost - my parents, a fiancé, an ex-husband, a step son and others. What I needed most at those times was someone to listen to me talk about my loved one. And how difficult it was to find someone who is comfortable enough to give me an ear. For some reason, people feel so uncomfortable with those who have experienced a loss. They’re afraid they’re going to say the “wrong thing“. What they don’t realize is that they really don’t have to say anything. So now, I am especially aware of people grieving and, when the opportunity arises, I make sure I am available to be a good listener. That gentleman was lucky the day he met you. You were just what he needed that day. You are amazing.
