I was homeless in Nashville for a while and no one wanted to even acknowledge me. The only people that will treat you like a valuable human are homeless people whether you are homeless right there with them or not. I made a friend who hadn't seen his family for years and couldn't get back to them. He helped me find food and had the most positive attitude. Right as he said "You can always find food in Nashville if you are looking for it", a lady rode by on a bike and told us she was giving away some breakfast around the corner. We had breakfast and watched a little lightshow as the sun was shining through the leaves on the tree. One day I told him I would meet him at the library the next day, but that night my mom ended up getting in touch with me and helped me out of my situation. To this day I feel so bad for never showing up to that library for my friend. I really hope he found his way home too.

The wisdom that oozed from Jay…holy moly. My heart truly broke for him. He was so strong and so wise while being a few beats away from crumbling. Nah bro, They’re fucking losers. All of them. All I heard in these interviews was excuses. Their very ideology is contradictory. They claim they need the help, but also say they want to be independent and do whatever they want to do. True independence is not having freedom, it’s doing what’s expected of us. One could say going to work and paying the rent is a unified construct, but I doubt any homeless person wants to be sleeping in a gutter.

A style of interviews and journalism lost to maimstream media. Gritty, real, and humanizing. The people most journalists are too scared to talk to, and too ugly to put on television. This is the real world people. Not fucking tiktok egirls. Toothlessness, addiction, struggle, and death. Pay close attention. That guy was absolutely right, you and I are only a couple missed paychecks away from being right where they are. Great video Brandon. Keep doing what everyone else is afraid of. On a handful of lonely nights I've gone and sat with homeless people in front of nearby gas stations- usually I'd have a couple drinks and share some snacks. Deff scary to think that alot of people are only a few paychecks away from that just like he said. Alot are veterans or people who had a sick loved one and spent every dime trying to save them. It's really sad that most people won't even give them the time of day. People in my family will kinda brag saying yea I'll give them money. The hard truth is the city would rather have them below ground rather than above, scaring off the tourists. Every city has their answer, in Salt Lake they will give the homeless bus tickets and $100 to go to Vegas when they have LDS General Conference or a convention/game going on. It would seem the homeless problem is not as bad in Vegas as it is in other cities but that's only if you haven't been down there and seen this shit

Hopefully once NESARA/GESARA kicks in every single one will be given a safe place to live Ike is written in the law. If not, and if I have more, I’ve already found my lifeline to donate to help more homeless people. If I’m fortunate enough to get back on my feet one day I will do for those in my own community. It’s hard enough for me to get out of the house once a week, when I do it’s a drs appt or the grocery before I’m out of gas.

It's so easy for others to dehumanize people due to their situations and this genuinely does an amazing job at showing how every single person has a story. It's probably much better for the soul, connect with and meet new people/share their stories. Always great content! Boxing isn't even a bad thing, really, especially not when it is done right. It's just cringe when Someone picks it up and after a couple of weeks of doing it starts calling out any and everyone. Even people they know there's no shot of actually happening with. It seems to happen a lot these days. Not to say Brandon couldn't! I am not sure what his height / weight is, but him vs S*neako or even an undercard at the creator clash would have been cool. Thank you for this video. It does help to keep those of us who are more fortunate to be more thankful and humble. I have a big heart for the homeless. I walked into a church service once, not knowing anything about who attended or what the services were about, to a church load of homeless people. But I didn’t see the ‘homeless.’ What I saw was the hand of God over this congregation and it about took the wind out of me. I immediately sat down and started saying, ‘thank You Jesus!’ This church also served a big meal after service was over to everyone who attended. I volunteered to be a server. I treated each person like they were dining at the most prestigious restaurant. I threw away garbage. I refilled their coffee cups. I wiped down messes. I was in heaven on earth. ❤

@@thelameg6 That man sounds nice. And all of the ones that were shown in this video seem nice as well. The problem is that not all of them are that way, and for every 1 nice one, there's 3 that are "addict homeless" people. And just like with anything else, the bad ones of the bunch give a bad name to the good ones in the bunch. Some people (seen A LOT in New Orleans) are just drifters - hippie types. The ones who choose that lifestyle because they don't want any responsibilities. I have a hard time finding sympathy for those people, sometimes - depending on the "type" they are. There's a way to live "off the grid" if you want to. The proper way to live off grid isn't by mooching off the backs of other people though, when you're choosing to live like this. Have a craft that you do and barter for services/items that you want or need if your morals are against money. Or go around asking people to help them with something in exchange for something else or in exchange for money. But don't sit outside of a gas station or at an intersection asking for a handout from people. The types that are willing to work in whatever capacity I can respect, but the ones that just want handouts - I don't have respect for. I work for the little that I do have and am struggling to get by. I would love to live off grid and have zero responsibility. But the thing is, there is no such thing as having 0 responsibilities unless you're mooching off of someone else. You're either working for money and using that money to buy food and necessities; or you're living off grid and farming for your food or hunting for your food - collecting your own water etc. Even if someone came up to me and wanted to trade me something that they made but that I didn't need - for something that I had, I'd still be willing to go for it just because of the effort in them and their respect for hard work; my hard work that got me whatever it is that they wanted from me, and their understanding of the value of that work.

I was homeless for many years, from 18 to like 26, and this just brings back so many emotions. A strong nostalgia, but also so much trauma and exhaustion, being treated like literal scum of the earth. But also perseverance, resiliency, and a certain kind of pride in my ability to make something out of nothing, to survive in spite of all of the internal and external challenges you're constantly fighting. But for me focusing on survival was a way to avoid my past and current circumstances and focus on making sure I was getting things done- locating food, fresh water, securing a safe shelter or sleeping spot, making sure you have all other supplies you need and maybe finding a way to get clean and wash your clothes. As someone who DOES live in a house with depression, dealing with my past has been a bigger task than living in survival mode-because survival mode is comfortable. Life is harder to face now that I'm not forced to be out in it. I've met the worst of people out there, but also have met the most beautiful, kindest, talented, and amazing people, both on the streets and the people who reach out and extend kindness just for the sake of being good people. I love the way you go down there with an open mind and heart, most of those peoples life stories are incredibly moving, full of heroism and tragedy, incredible talent, heartache and resilience, creativity, adaptability, and resourcefulness.

Congrats on pulling through and getting off the streets Juliana❤. I fully agree with you that our mind is the most tricky to deal with, in survival mode we "only" have to take care of the body and that can be easier since the body is very straightforward about what it wants. If you're into reading I'd really suggest Inner Engineering by Sadhguru, it has helped me (and millions of others) enormously on how to deal with our minds, and thus with our past. Take care.

@@andyb6851 thank you! I love reading, and I have just added it to my reading list! I know enough to know, that I don't know much of anything when it comes to listening to myself, all the different parts of myself, and how to love and care for myself truly. Navigating my own inner world is something I have very little knowledge or experience in, so I must look to people far more experienced than myself. Thank you for the suggestion and kind words, I will definitely get my hands on that book!

I lived in Portland Oregon from 2013-2017-ish and I was shocked by the homeless people. I grew up in the rural Midwest and I was completely unprepared for the West end of the Burnside Bridge. I came really close to being one of those people who had two bad weeks and becomes homeless forever; I had to rely on family to avoid it.
