The fact that Cambodia, a communist country, was invaded by another communist country really shows how evil and insane the Khmer Rouge was.

Cambodia was bombed into the stone age by Nixon and Kissinger because they thought that the horror of Vietnam needed to be expanded into the surrounding countries, to “teach those savages what happens when they even consider having anything to do with Communism. They shouldn't be given a single moment of mercy.” No offence, but videos like this are borderline propaganda that skews the facts and constantly creates a pro-American narrative of history.

As much as I'm on the side of the ideals of America in terms of politics, it was absolutely stupid of them to support the Khmer Rouge just because they were salty at getting back at Vietnam.

Oh communism did work it did exactly what it was designed to do disintegrate society there's actually a whole spiritual aspect behind it so for places like Cambodia it did exactly what it was designed to do if you want the short sum up of it and a lot of people who follow that stuff don't even know about this is they pretty much want society the revert back to what it was like in the garden of Eden which is to say non at all. Tik history can go through it far better

My grandparents survived the Khmer Rouge. They told me a lot about their lives under the regime. It was a terrible and horrific experience. My grandpa was a high school teacher, he forced himself to burn and buried all his achievements to avoid getting "educated". He told me "It's hard to get 1 handful of rice. You are lucky. So don't be picky." I never waste a single grain of rice. Edit: I want to share my other grandparent's story (my mom's side). My grandpa was a District Governor. Lucky for him, he some how managed to survive and later become a Major General. My mom told me both of my grandparents survive the regime because they pretend to be normal farmers. Especially, my grandpa. He knew the intentions of the Khmer Rouge. He knew that only pretending to be "stupid" is the way to survive. And he did just that. Just before the day of liberation, he joined the other liberation force not the Vietnamese. Due to his heroic actions and my grandma's help. My grandpa was promoted to Major General and his task is to eliminate the remaining Khmer Rouge guerilla forces along Khmer-Thai border. He didn't see them as enemies but victims instead. Instead of holding a gun he carries a bag full of medical supplies and help the wounded Khmer Rouge soldiers. (I met one of his comrades.) He wasn't lying. My grandpa and my grandma lived years after the war ended. And yeah this is it. They died in peace. They are very happy to see our country in peace. I still remember the words my mom told be "Don't look with your eyes. Look with your hands. War never forgive a lazy person." I'm not very good at English. If there's a mistake, be sure to let me know. I'm happy to fix! THANK YOU FOR READING! ❤️

Back in the late 90's I worked with a man who lived through the Cambodian regime. He was a very reserved man and he very rarely talked about his time there but he did tell us once that when he was 18 his father was arrested on the suspicion of knowing how to read. Some soldiers came to the house and told the family that he had attempted to escape and was executed with a rifle. When the family went to collect the remains at the site of the execution, he quickly realized they hadn't used a rifle, they had used a grenade launcher. He had to multitask between gathering the remains himself and keeping his mother back so she couldn't see. The guy lived on nicotine and only slept two hours per night.

I mean literally, yes that is true. But the people that use these arguments instead of understanding with nuance are not communists, they’re usually American liberals who have been told they’re communist because the USA’s Overton window is so far to the right that there is literally no left. Bernie Sanders who is the most left wing politician is still a right wing capitalist. The last communist politician in the US was either MLK jr or Malcolm X. However in some cases it is literally true. The Khmer Rouge was a capitalist state funded by the CIA (this is public info btw, no conspiracy here), communist Vietnam even had to step in and liberate them. China is VERY arguable. Under Mao? Socialist, yes, but under Deng and Xi Jinping? It’s debatable, some may call it state capitalist. Communism is not achievable until the entire world becomes communist and after a few hundred years. What any ‘communist’ country of history is, is socialist. Most understand that socialism is a necessary transitionary period, but some (anarchists) believe that it all needs to happen instantly. It would make the job of socialist leaders a lot easier if they weren’t invaded, killed, sabotaged, or embargoed every single time… the USSR, Cuba, Venezuela, China, Burkina Faso, Libya, Yugoslavia, Vietnam, Laos, and more.

This increased to about 75% of NRB respondents in 2000, dropping slightly to 71% in 2009." There's a lot of people who actually preferred the soviet times over what they got now, I dont know if this is more about soviet greatness or the current Russian decadence but is something that most be considered.

The only nation and people to largely benefit from the Soviet Union, was RUSSIA, it had a host of smaller nations (which it forcefully occupied) at its beck and call, of course Russians are going to think fondly of the USSR with this being the case... this was a time when their nation was at its strongest, when it was an undisputed world power, and had an economy to challenge its rivals. If you ask any of the nations who were forced to become part of the Soviet Union, like Poland, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Romania, and Ukraine, most of the people there, especially old timers who actually lived under the USSR, will tell you it was terrible.

Communism is the very definition of failure Biggest problem with people who wants communism, is that they forget what communism does and gives; and this is what it will bring. Communism has caused nothing but pain and suffering for the entire world. Everywhere communism is implanted; the citizens of that nation suffer. All for the power of one tyrant. Many praise communism, but that’s because they don’t truly understand the price it has. The price they will make their people pay. - Communism is a form of religion as they communist parties practically makes the people worship them and the ideology (look at early Soviet Union with Stalin, and look at China with Mao and the current dictator of China).
