Crazy, crazy, crazy. I was driving in Key Largo and Homestead (South Miami-Dade county) and we got hammered with 13 straight hours of rain that came down so hard I couldn't see car tail lights 25 feet in front me, for 13 hours! Every 30 seconds or so like I drove through a water fall, physically shook the car. There was accident or stranded set of vehicles every 1/4 mile for 30 miles in every direction.

Well, when you have politicians who think that climate change is not real, and when they refuse to act upon it, this is the result. I live in the Netherlands, and if we would have the same attitude towards the conclusions from the scientific community as the Florida leadership has towards the scientific community we would literally drown. For the past 400 years past generations have been managing the water in our entire country in various ways to prevent flooding and droughts. Some stand alone projects did cost hundreds of millions, and took more than a decade to complete, but it was a joint effort from previous generations in order to protect future generations. And we still upgrade the works that protect our country against the water to modern standards. We learned a long time ago that is not wise to ignore the best trained scientific professionals.
