My father had a 1980 Suzuki truck like this on the farm we had. It was a 2 stroke, self mixing 550cc engine 4x4. I believe he lifted it about 2 or 3 inches with 30 to 32 inch mud tires. That thing was amazing as a farm truck, there literally was nothing it couldn't do better than any Ford or Chevy truck on the farm and mud that would easily sink a Ford or Chevy was a non-issue for it. We had it from 1983 to 1998 when he sold the farm and the little truck with it. It still ran great. I loved the fold down sides on the bed. Not saying I'd run it as a daily driver on the road, but as for industry/farm work, I'd choose these over anything. Basically a UTV on steroids is how I'd describe one. Amazing piece of work someone did to this truck, a head turner for sure.

I used to import these Japanese kei trucks. They are unbelievably reliable and it is usually something catastrophic like a broken cambelt to stop them from running. Great machines offroad with a set of 25's and a lift kit. Some of the Suzuki and Daihatsu are supplied with factory rear diff lock. Full credit to the builder of this little machine.

That is sooooo cool! Tonka toy for men. Looks to me like this vehicle is meant for strictly off-road use! Back in '78, I purchased a full size Blazer, brand new. Once I put 37" Gumbo Mudders on it, highway driving was horrible. Those tires are not meant for the highway, what I see when I look at the whole vehicle is a total off-road vehicle. I'm 69 years old, and I don't remember seeing anything like this in the U.S.! They were probably offered only overseas. But, man, what a vehicle! Bet the off-road ability of this vehicle will be next to none! Thanks for the video. These are what I love too see. Be safe! Oh man, what a great video. Thanks!

Ever since I first saw the Honda Acty Pick Up Truck in London in the 1980's I've loved these tiny, forward control vehicles! Unfortunately, London traffic is NOT where you would want to be in these trucks because the crew cabin doubles as the crumple zone during collisions! Even quite low speed impacts present grave risks to the occupants, and after inspecting the remains of two which had been in frontal collisions I decided that they weren't for me. I look forward to seeing your adventures with your Tonka Truck. Subscribed. In the UK a boat building company called Island Plastics manufactured one piece fibreglass, demountable campers for these trucks, which you could place on the stands and drive away! They were hugely popular, and if you do a Google Images search for the Honda Acty Romahome you'll find them, one would look good on the back of your Tonka Truck!
