Eucalyptus was used extensively in Australian houses till soft wood (pine) became easier to source. You are doing the right thing, cut green, store correctly and it will last for ages in your barn. Also treat to keep the worm out. It will last for ages.

I think you should put your building further back on the higher ground where you have the bricks stacked. It looks like you may have exposed a small spring.

It’s not a spring, all the water coming from the upper terrace 😁 when foundations were dug it stayed dry until it started to rain

I would highly recommend you try to find an “A Frame type Extension Ladder that is adjustable to extend up to 9ft, or you can open it up into a straight extension ladder, which is much safer and easier to work off of, and when down in the A Frame configuration 2 people can be on it, 1 on each side of the ladder ! Well worth the money if you can find one in your area..

As long as once you pour the footings, make sure those are above where the standing water is appearing now. and than just add fill to build up that area to make sure that where the building and the entrance has run off away from that low spot after you add fill . including the driveway into the new building

Hi guys it shows a wet spot on your land that may well need a French drain or two around th foundation area for the future! Worth digging around now to try and see if this will work enough for you. You say it’s the only spot so put in as many ditches drainage as possible before you get too far into the build. Surely it can only help to maintain integrity of your base. Good luck I will follow your progress ❤👍

It’s just because it rain a lot, and water seeps from the higher terrace once we pour the foundations there won’t be a problem anymore 👍

If you’re building your shed near to the house because you want to store your wood for the fire there it will definitely affect the wood if the shed floods continuously throughout the winter! You could try running a French drain around the base of the shed in a hopes of redirecting the water around rather than through the shed. It quite amazing just how much water there actually is! ❤

  • @portugalitis

I think problem are rocks and boulders under the ground, thats why water is staying, but shed won’t be flooding in the winter 😁👍

It looks like you are at a low part of that area. You may need to add dirt and fill in the area more( pack it down) and grade away from where you plan on putting the foundation. This will allow you to maintain a dry foundation and move water away from your structure.

Yes can build in water but it will soak into the blocks, and any render, in winter that will freeze and blow, can you use wood and build on stilts (piles) if you use the trees you cut today they are resistant to the water ie wood rot.. you could also use block n beam suspended on pillars, take care you two..

In order to get the olive branches to make a tree you need to put in water in the time before you plant them and when you do plant them you need to put some root establishing product on them and wrap. I am sure you can find many videos on just how to do this so you get the results you want.
