Here we have ’Life of Pi’ by Canadian author Yann Martel, published by Suntup Press. This is the classic edition limited to 500 copies and it is signed by both the author Yann Martel, and the illustrator, Jon Ching.
This limited edition comes with a fully illustrated dust-jacket and it sits inside a duo-tone cloth bound slip-case. The slip-case is custom made and the book fits absolutely perfectly inside. The slip-case also has a foil blocking with title and author. The book is quarter bound in duo-tone cloth with paper sides. The cover and spine also has foil blocking. The book is Smyth-sewn, but is still quite tight, which is a bit disappointing. The paper used for this edition is Mohawk Via Laid paper, which is cream-colored and very thick with a nice texture. And it’s printed letterpress throughout.
The letterpress printing is very fine, with rich colors and crisp and precise impressions. The printing was made in California, US. The illustrations are printed beautifully on slightly textured photographic paper.
