There are many nomadic and shepherd communities living in the Himalayas. Gaddi community is one of them. Gaddi shepherds live in Himachal and roam around the upper Himalayan mountains with their sheep flocks all through the summer. The lifestyle of Gaddi people resembles with the Bakarwals of Kashmir, and other Gujjar shepherds of Kashmir, Himachal and Uttarakhand. In local dialect Gaddi shepherds are also referred to as the Bakarwals, which means Goat herders.

I was a bit surprised after watching your video that how things are the same on both sides of the border. I belong to neelam valley kashmir. I was thinking that Bakarwal is only on our side but you have them too. Nameste and Salam to all of you.

Bhai m sab jagah cycle se travel karta hu, fir unche pahado me jaha rasta khatm ho jata h waha kisi ganv me cycle park karke janglo ke raste paidal (trekking karke) pahado par chadhta hu jaha aise log milte h, m kisi ek jagah nahi rehta chalta rahta hu, mushkil to hota h par mujhe aise ghumne ka shauk h to acha lagta h

Mostly gaddi muslim the pahle but vkt ke sath hindu majority hone k sath sath inhone Hinduism ko adopt kiya, because agar inka rahan sahan pure muslim jaisa hi h
