I do something similar to your spreadsheets except that I created a folder in my work email and anytime I get an email about a correction or teaching point, I put that email in my folder so that I can remember what I missed and why. It has prevented me from making the same mistake twice many times. I also don’t listen to audiobooks either. I do more listening than working haha so I watch shows it KZread videos.

How long did it take you to really get comfortable with coding after you passed your cpc exam???

Hello, I am a cpc hopeful- looking into teaching myself. Recently discovered your KZread channel- it’s been very helpful. Thank you. I’m wondering if you might have some advice on what computer type set up I’ll need or you use, and or other equipment?

Yay! Your video are my favorite! When taking the exam do you recommend AAPC or AHIMA? Also do you know any resources for practice exams that are free?

Loved the details. My schedule is 5am- to 1:30 also. But because I live in a different time zone it’s really 6am-2:30 🤷🏽‍♀️.

@@supergiant563 honestly it’s like every other job you just have to keep applying. It took me about 1-2 years to find one because I had no experience. Just don’t give up.

@@supergiant563 yes. I live in the USA and work in the USA. I’m just in a different state within the USA. It’s probably even more difficult to get a remote job if you live in a different country.

So I just started working as a medical coder and biller and it’s not easy. This is my first time working in Rev cycle and I feel like I’m getting so much thrown at me at once. I finally under how to do charge entry now I need to learn how to update insurance packages and correct denied claims. I get what they mean when they say companies don’t like to hire newbie coders because they have to train us in so much but if we don’t get the jobs what’s the point in going to school for the career ? Make it make sense? It’s overwhelming and I feel like there’s no structure in the training process.

Aw, it’ll be okay. It is hard in the beginning but medical coding can be very repetitive once you get the hang of it. Training for certification is nothing like the real world becuase you now have to follow payor guidelines/policies to bill the way they want you to. I don’t know why they don’t talk about it but I guess they figure we’ll all figure it out once we get into field lets focus on passing first. 🤭 I hope things get better for you. 🩷
