Hello Deborah! I'm new to the channel, I was researching what the life of a newly graduated civil engineer is like and what the internship is like too and I found your video which was very inspiring. I am Angolan but I would like to train in South Africa as a civil engineer. But due to lack of conditions, I'm graduating here in Angola. But it was my dream to study in South Africa and work as a civil engineer. I also understand architecture. Sorry for the long comment, but I want to thank you for the energy transmitted by the video. God bless you

thanks for the insight and motivation! I currently am looking for an inserve myself. As someone that has had the opportunity to be on site and observe how they handle things, would you recommend site walk-ins for someone tryna get an inserve?
@deborarose.k

hi there Yay keep pushing & keep applying, yes definitely, I didn’t apply that way but I do suggest you walk right in, sometimes you gotta just grab these opportunities or else they’ll never come, but I’ll make a video on applying and details and all that jazz soon 💕😊

Yes site walk-ins help, even though it may be a waste of time sometimes because on site you usually don’t find people that are dealing with the hiring processes but to build better character and a better way to market yourself yes I recommend site walk ins because honestly you never know, you might be very lucky on that day and if you’re confident and determined ,someone might look into what you’re saying and recommend you get hired, ...but just apply everyday even to companies that didn’t send out posts. Search for them and find them. Civil engineering has many opportunities in the country it’s a matter of stepping out and finding them, they won’t find you.
Good
Good job

In your country, you don't decide what you want to study after the second year, we have to choose a specialization.

Can u actually Build things or like its just like designing and making sure everything is correct? if not which engineering field would u recommend me that u can design and build in
@deborarose.k

Hello there, so in this video I was working for a “building contractor” so we would supervise, coordinate and monitor work that was done on site, like setting out (this done by reading drawings and actually turning them into reality) We would work with Consulting engineers who were the ones responsible for designing, Where I am currently working it’s a consultant company that focuses more on the design, as well as project management, both can be done if you study civil engineering it just depends where you get a job

Hello my friend I hope I'm not late for this, I really have a passion to become a civil engineer, I'm waiting to join and start my studies for deploma in civil engineering but somehow I'm loosing my passion thinking if I start from deploma levels there's less Job opportunity , so I was asking for some guidance that can be useful,,

No I studied Civil Engineering, and it covers construction as well, I just happened to have gotten my internship at a construction company, we don’t necessarily build houses, here I worked for a company that mainly did large scale projects; industrial, schools etc.
