@@behindthemirror2215 weirdly enough hes still an interesting character. I thought at first it was a sequel thing for him but it was his weird own fucked up interest in innocence.

I sided with David. As I went along in the story and learned he was in the military it all made sense. Being in the military changes a mindset, but I never found him creepy or weird. He had the challenge of trying to fit in a new family and a step daughter who opposed him. That's always a rough situation.

When i did play the game I had Max side with David after realizing he might not be the bad guy and Max starting to realize she might of made a mistake by getting him fired as i felt the point of david was his actions and behavior was justified as he had to deal with Chloe out of control behavior and everything going on in the school plus giving the fact he was in the army made him see things no one should as the military can turn you into something far worse much like John in the karate kid or Quinn mom in final space

@@iamjohnporter67only problem is the part where if u had witnessed him hit Chloe. Hitting a child isn’t at excuse to justify the fact you have PTSD. Although I understand why he acted that way, it’s not right therefore a lot of people still hate him for that. This actually happens a lot irl (not the part where the people hit their kids, but the part where a person has their flaws and goods)

I did the same. I at first didn't like him during his first appearance but after I read up about him, I decided it was time to cut him some slack and his appearance in Life is Strange 2 showed that he kept to his word to change. I hope that he gets his own instalment as a protagonist, like a prequel to the first game.

I don't feel a little bad for him, I feel *really* bad for him.

Despite David being a butt, he saves Max and is saddened over the way he treated Chloe. He is a hero while Mark Jefferson is the true villain.

Another reason to love this series: The choices actually make a difference.

@@Jaydenisquestionable Nah, they don't. Life is Strange 1 ending is not a summary of your choices and decisions that you made through all your game. Something like Mass Effect 3 ending.

The choices have an impact because the characters are 3-dimensional, but they don't really "matter" in the end. Actually, the reason I fell in love with the game is BECAUSE choices don't matter which feels insane to say. The game explores a lot impossible decisions and nothing ever going perfect no matter what you decide to do. The ending is an epitome to this theme and I kind of love it. If you want to see a game where choices *do* actually matter, all the way through, I recommend Detroit Become Human. You practically have control over anything from all the characters dying to the entire population being wiped out. I love both of these games but for very different reasons and DBH is the winner from a technical standpoint when it comes to variety of impact.

@@Fleepwn I wrote this back when I was a bit more sheepish than I am now. To be honest when I was reminded I typed that original comment out I grimmaced quite bad. Especially now I know the LIS franchise as the absolute cringefest it now is. Im personally not as fond of the original as I once was, though I can't exactly fault others for still liking it. I have played Detroit and it is a MUCH better game in comparion.

I'm mad that I didn't realize David was hinting at something bad happening when you go "into the dark." What that's hinting at

Like honestly. She lost her first husband then had to deal with her new husband and daughter fighting constantly, and then she either has to bury her only child or gets killed by a hurricane. She literally can't win.

Judas Jones I completely agree. I'm always sorry for Joyce because she just wanted to have a nice family and be happy. Joyce had a beautiful family but it was destroyed after William's death and at the end of the first Life is Strange both endings are sad for Joyce. If you sacrifice Chloe Joyce will lose her only daughter and later divorce from David. If you sacrifice Arcadia Bay David and Chloe will live and finally make peace but Joyce will never see this since she died in the Arcadia Bay storm......JOYCE DESERVED BETTER.

Joyce is part of why I go Bae over Bay. She doesn’t deserve to bury Chloe. At least this way she gets a well deserved rest and is reunited with William. She and Him are smiling on Pricefield and David from Heaven.

Actually, i know that david is good person, but his method is too extreme and gone far, it s like he is war-minded in mere high school and step daughter rage and drama. He is just soldier but he is not a father type. Usually when a father is veteran soldier with deep value of honor and discipline, their children sometimes end up hard rebelling type than strict straight-A type. Especially if the mother is soft loving sweet type. Because children felt pressure to live by their dad's high expectation to them, since their father already achieved god level, and if the children cant achieve the same god level than their father, or only achieved lower level, the children will become rebel and mischief rather than proud and straight serious A type.

He could be a douche sometimes But I respected him being in the army and fighting for his country. I just had a feeling he was a good man. He's one of those characters you could think be the main villain but is actually the hero.

He loves her and does everything to show it like the Birthday card he was too embarrassed to give her to protecting her from the police he just cant give her fatherly love because she dosent let him and because he dosent know how to.

Am I the only one who thinks he wasn't trying to do anything? All he wanted to do was try to help others even if he messes up sometimes, he made it clear that he wants to protect others not hurt them, I wish he got more love

David’s dynamic in both seasons is him being an asshole at first but hero at the end

David's awesome. In the words of Steven Fry " security isn't a dirty word " Side with David , he's a good guy deep down as you can see.

David does reveal himself as a good person later, but I couldn't side with him. Therefore, I sided with Chloe as a suitable punishment for bullying Kate. If I had a way to discipline Chloe for her punkish behaviour, I'd do that. Max is able to speak her mind, but can hardly make that punk listen.

Good guy or bad guy, David is still getting on my nerves.

Still don't hit your child, which exasperates drug use, however Chloe's situation was isolated and a result of high tensions and her getting in David's face, and David being so confrontational all the time.

Even tho you get hints from David Im still happy I sided with Chloe

Don’t forget him watching his wife and step daughter change on secret cameras. Joyce needed to know. A house built on lies and manipulation cannot survive. Like Joyce said, he brought it on himself.

Regardless of what David was trying to achieve, I still side with Chloe David acts like a bully towards absolutely everyone. He treats everyone except for Nathan Prescott like war criminals. Spying on people in your own home with a surveillance system that they don't even know about, trying to fill every part of the school with surveillance, interrogating a poor girl that's going through hell, he seriously needs help. Plus I don't like how he treats Chloe.

He's raw and rough but I was able to see that he didn't meant to do wrong, Max is supposed to help Chloe, to be the voice of reason, her own mother tells you that, and Chloe has lots of issues that you can't just let them pass (she just blames everything and everyone but herself), if Max loved her she would help her be better that's why I sided with David and didn't support Chloe's tantrum

I sided with chloe cause while i did agree that chloe wasn’t gonna stay mad for long i knew max was right, everything she said about david was true and I didn’t feel good hiding the truth like that.

Even after knowing what happens,I still wouldn't side with David. He's a good guy,but not so much a good father.

David is honestly one of the most interesting characters in the game.

I sided with Chloe this time because I’m going to nuke Arcadia Bay anyway. But if I ever do another playthrough where she dies, I’d probably side with David.

SHIT!! I knew I should've stuck up for David!! I was replaying this just now and I ALWAYS pick the worst decisions!! (Maybe I won't play Before The Storm... I don't want Chloe to suffer for my mistakes!!)

Why the Hell would anyone side with David? He’s been nothing but mean to Max. Has been abusing Chloe for years. Bullied Kate when he could’ve helped her. It was him who eft the door to the roof open. Don’t forget him watching Chloe and Joyce change on the secret cameras. He calls Joyce a punk and says screw you to her. Even after you take his side he’s still not all that nice or thankful to you. The man needed a time out and a taste of reality.

wow, I sided with Chloe just because i was still mad at David for bringing up that "joint" in the principal's office. Hence why I got suspended. Anyway, after what i've seen in episode 4 I feel like I might have been too harsh on him. Now it feels like the wrong choice there. If i'll ever replay the game i am gonna side with him.

Look I know David can be a jerk but even I know he would not do something that drastic. David knew more what was going on with Blackwell.

I actually sided with David the moment that choice comes up. I don't really like Chloe (no offence she still the bestest of friends but she is WAY to rash). I like to say that everything happen for a reason and they did. Both David and Nathan. I didn't focus much on Nathan but hell I know something's not right. The dude needed some serious help but what happened to him is just too much for me.

David deserves a chance, but he's still a massive ass during this. He was really creepy spying on people and his own family, and bullying students. We know he was trying to do good, but that was not the way to do it. Sadly Chloe and David never end up understading each other as, well, you know, the ending.
