I always hide and then intervene. I'm not scared of David and Chloe loves Max forever for it. I swear she brings it up in every episode thanking her. Also that choice makes it so David never hits Chloe so it's easier for them to try and be a family.

However one of the routes implies that he’s done so before, which makes that statement, if taken generally, a false one. Makes me wonder the extent to which he’s gone, and if Mom is aware of anything. Edit: By this I mean that just because he didn’t hit her in that scene, it doesn’t mean that he doesn’t in general. There are different interpretations based on what you choose, clearly, as there’s the thought that he doesn’t at all, there’s the one where it could’ve been a fit of anger, a one-time occurrence, and then there’s the last one where it’s implied to have happened multiple times. Overall, considering that we do know that he is at least partially willing to hit her, it’s likely that he has still done so off-screen in any of the routes

@@Mizra-dq3lj That's 90% of people who end up becoming "controversial". That doesn't mean that it's okay and that they should get a pass. We can't justify everyone's behavior and not hold them responsible for their actions all the time because their life sucks. Everyone has the responsibility to choose how their past will shape them in the future. Chloe didn't HAVE to turn out the way she did. Many people had childhoods far worse than Chloe's that make her childhood seem like a fairytale in comparison, and they don't end up becoming selfish and entitled the way she did. You saying, "It's not her fault she's the way she is, because she had a bad life." Implies that she and other people who grew up like her have no other option but to become jerks and that there is absolutely no way they can help themselves and become good people. They can change, and they should change for the better. And the only people who can do this is themselves. There's a difference between understanding and empathizing with troubled souls who do bad things, and saying, "Oh it's fine. They had a tragic past so it's okay that they're toxic towards the people they love. It's not like they can change or help themselves anyway. People with childhood trauma are pretty much incapable of being good people." In conclusion, it is technically partially her fault at the very least. If we give full power to our environment when it comes to shaping who we become as adults, then that's a dangerous mindset to have. We all have struggles, but if you're nineteen (I believe that's how old Chloe is in the game), you're old enough to take control of your life and not let your awful past shape who you are. Even in the game, Chloe does have some character development going on, which means that there's hope that she has become a better person. It just proves that you can't blame your environment for all the negative parts of your personality, because you CAN be a better person despite your past.

Yes, that was a shit thing to do but put in over all context. Chloe knew she was going to get hit and was probably thinking David would do less to Max than her. Plus, she doesn’t know David knew who Max was. If she had known I don’t think she would have done that. If David had really called the policed I do also think she would have owned up. Nothing even happens to Max really. Even if she gets suspended Wells doesn’t really believe David but he’s gotta go through the motions. The way I play the game there won’t even be a Blackwell on Friday anyway.

you’re right! max had numerous scenarios where she hid stuff that would cause trouble, from Dana’s pregnancy test, breaking their friendship, to William’s keys, preventing him from getting into a car crash. Then again, Max didn’t tell Chloe about her powers around this time, but I’m sure it’s not that skeptical.

megadriver6 I'd bet anything that someone _has already_ made a mod that lets you do that in at least one of the version of the sims that have been launched. Later ones might be locked up tighter and harder to mod - I don't know, I haven't followed the scene, but I know EA likes to clench. No need to buy, just look in the modding scene.

For me, the best scenario is the last one. You remain hidden and you stay there, following Chloe´s advice. Even if she didnt have a right to blame you for not going along her lies towards you, the truth is that she told you to hide, so i think that´s why she doesnt get as angry as the scenerio where you dont take the blame.

@@lautarocony It isn't max's drugs. It's Chloe's. If max gets reported, she could easily get arrested, or kicked out of school. Chloe is such a jerk for trying to make her take the blame.

There's also a clean (kinda) way out of this situation. IF you took a PHOTO of David harassing Kate Marsh (yes Kate will get mad at you in this one) on the campus and cleaned your mess with David's files in his garage. In this scenario, if you come out from hiding he won't be threatening you, cuz our CHLOE will protect you (Max). That's really cute. 💖

I've heard and used this phrasing plenty of times before and so have other people based on the thumbs up my comment received. It doesn't seem far fetched that she could've meant it in this way. I guess you could interpret Chloe's line as evidence of a repeated offense on David's part. However, I took it as "I'm gonna let this first time slide, but if you ever do this again, I'll make sure you'll regret it." Based on their reactions to the slap and the fact that David never hits her again or is physically abusive to her in BtS, it seemed to me that this was David's first time hitting Chloe. There's also an exchange between Max and Chloe in EP 3 that indicates that David never laid his hands on Chloe before the events of LiS, and Chloe's dialogue changes depending on whether or not David slapped her in this scene.

I enjoyed being able to rewind in this game and try to make the "right" decision. It makes me realize that some of my big screwups might have been the best possible outcome.

It's really interessting to see the different ways the characters act. In my playthrough I hid in the closet and then went out and took the blame for the weed, as my own choice. And it felt naturally for me and Chloe was thankful, it fits. In the first scenario in this video Chloe WANTS Max to take the blame. If that had occured during my play I would have not made that choice at all. This is one great example how the player gets to know the characters in a very different way which has a huge unfluence on the final desicion in the game.

Woah, I've always never been able to find a hiding spot, I didn't know you could not.

Chloe really reminds me of my older sisters and that guy is really scary and abusive, so it's really easy to sympathize with her and react emotionally to it and want to protect her. But it becomes really clear after you do so, she doesn't care about you as much and willing for Max to have a spotted record. That is not a good friend. There's a lot to pity about for Chloe but it is never your job to ruin your life so they can feel better about themselves. In the end, she did choose to steal that gun and smoke weed and put the blame on her only potential friend. This is coming from someone who's seen people like Chloe and who were/are in abusive relationships. Also, I only played the first episode because that was free.

WarLord Era She seems like that in the first episode, sure, but there's more to Chloe than that. If you were to play the rest then you would find that you're not wrong and not right. Chloe is just a very lost and lonely teenager who is acting out because she is afraid and lonely and very sad - but being bad and angry is easier than being sad. Chloe's dad died when she was a tween and straight after her best friend forever, Max, moved away without a word to her (clearly Max is bad at long distance relationships, not that uncommon, but considering Chloe's dad just died, very bad for Chloe), then her mum got in a relationship with a guy Chloe hates and stopped talking about her dad as if he never existed, then Chloe met, befriended and fell in love with Rachel Amber (who was all about acting out), then her new best friend just disappeared without a trace, then Chloe got drugged by Nathan Prescott, managed to get away from him, but then when she tried to demand hush money him (because she's desperate for money) he pulled a gun her. Yes, Chloe acts out, but that is because she is so miserable and lonely - she smokes weed because then she doesn't have to feel anymore, and she is rude and brash because it's easier to just not care about others than to let them in and be hurt.

Yes, that was a bitch move and I get peeved at her too for that. However, look at it in over all context. It's very clear that David has hit her before and I quote "Don't ever touch me again, asshole. That is the last time" She knew he was getting ready to hit her again. Her thought process was probably that since Max isn't family that David could and would do less to her. Plus, she doesn't know about Max's earlier run ins with David. Even without taking the blame Max could have still stood up for her. I mean she defended Kate against him earlier that day. Why didn't she do the same for Chloe here?

Besides he loves Joyce and Chloe, if he didn't he wouldn't have stuck with Joyce through her debt and her depressed daughter, he also tries to stop Chloe from further ruining her life by trying to help her do better. Besides he clearly regretted that he had to resort to backhanding her when words failed. Problem is he structures his life based on the order and discipline of the military and he isn't equipped emotionally or mentally to truly help Chloe the way she needs it which he knows but still tries.

I’m starting to think that there’s some sort of story trope in where the “supposed” main character hating his/her step parent for very petty and selfish reasons Example 1. In Legally Blonde, Chutney killed her dad and framed her stepmom for murder because she wasn’t happy with her dad marrying a woman her age. 2. In the Kissing Booth 3, Elle snaps at her dad’s girlfriend and tells her that she doesn’t belong here. Worst of all, she calls her dad selfish for going back into the dating pool without realizing that he hasn’t had love in a long time after his wife’s death. 3. In Mindy Kaling’s Velma, Velma basically treats her stepmom like crap and calls her a home wrecker just for being pregnant with her dad’s child. In the season 1 finale, Velma kicks her dad, stepmom and newborn step sister out of the house so she can spend some time with her mom that she hasn’t since in 2 years. Chloe acts like her stepdad is abusive, sexist and a prick just for marrying her mother. This is the same Chloe who manipulated Max into doing a lot of bad things, killed a drug dealer and his dog and treats her “girlfriend” like crap.

It was already decrimalized in 2011. I did some reading and even before it was legal doing small amounts at home was not considered a crime. So David has no real case against you.

Wow this was so cool to see those other choices.

Granted...I stayed hidden in my latest playthrough...And it was nice to see Joyce side with her daughter for once. I mean, I can understand that Joyce is frustrated with Chloe but in my first playthrough it felt like she only cared about her husband... But I can understand why...She understand David is rough around the edges. She takes the good with the bad.

LOL She walked right into that slap! David didn't even have to move.

GUYS, David isn't a bad person. I don't think he is. I guess he's like that to get respect and trust me I think he doesn't want what he is doing. Also when he slapped Chloe in the face I think he almost said I'm sorry or something else.

I like Chloe, but she's a very flawed person. Despite how much she's suffering she's still a huge dick in many parts. You know that she's a sweet girl on the inside, but you have to endure her until she recovers from her issues to get to that point. I don't think anyone but Max could have endured all her constant bitching.

Amen. People who hate her just make me sad. Yes, she’s not perfect but she’s hurting. David may have a good heart deep down but he was a huge dick to everyone. Joyce will even admit in Episode 5 depending on what dialogue you chose that he scares her sometimes. What kind of Mom lets a man treat their kid like that? Plus Chloe selfish? She is not selfish. Everything she does in LiS 1 and BtS is either for Max or Rachel, not for herself. Chloe is an amazing character who I can relate to in so many ways. Bae over Bay all the Way.

If you try to Max will say that’s no good b/c you can’t hide the smell.

Overall I reckon staying hidden is the best option. That way you won't be in any trouble with David, and Chloe won't be mad at you.

In the lighthouse scene, i think she might get a bit upset, also the gun scene is really funny and shows chloe's dorky side.

I thought I was going to get Chloe in even bigger trouble by revealing myself because David didn't know that Max was invited to their house. Also, hiding in a closet looks suspicious, so I figured David would get even more pissed off at Chloe. Idk. I regretted it later on. Goes to show how much of a pussy I am, both in video games and real life

the last ending was actually the best

THE BEST OPTION/CHOICE Don't hide IF YOU HIDE ( DAVID WILL SLAP CHLOE ) If you don't hide David will not slap Chloe, and don't blame Chloe. NEXT DAY In school don't tell David that it was your pot. SOLVED

The rating tricked me into doing that and it change into a lower rating when i finished the chapter
