Your Vietnam vlog makes me want to give Vietnam another chance, o had such a bad experience and culture shock when I went once with my mom and I said to myself I would never go back. But you and your family make Vietnam so beautiful and serene.

@@SandyMac312I think you will encounter that anywhere you come, especially if you live in a western country, cause I know that VN is quite chaotic 😂
1:21 "if you're a horse yes" that humour 😭😭 now i understand what chris said about Benji's humour..he got that from his dad😭
I sobbed while watching this. Growing up in Sri Lanka which is pretty similar to the Vietnam I miss being a kid back home. All the lakes and rice paddies we would play in as a kid and my distant cousins. We didn’t have a care in the world and life was so much simpler back then but I wanted to grow up too bad :( Thank you for capturing everything Benji. I lived my childhood memories once again thanks to this video .

As someone who was raised in the middle of the northwest in a small town (USA), I feel like I am just now realizing how culturally deprived I was growing up. Most of the schools I went to were predominantly white, with the exception of a few exchange or transfer students. I was offered very few opportunities when I was younger to truly experience other cultures. Now that I am in college, I feel like watching your videos has encouraged me to expand my world view and learn about different cultures. Every culture is so unique and special and should be celebrated. Your videos clearly reflect how amazing other cultures truly are.
The security of growing up with so much family and support around you. I cannot imagine. Your self esteem ans well being will be so nourished. Very lucky

As a Vietnamese American, I'm enjoying your videos in Vietnam. They capture the calm moods I experience when visiting my family over there, especially in the countryside. Something those flashy Saigon nightlife travel videos would never capture. Those early morning moods, waking up and hanging out with cousins and talking to my grandma... brings back memories.
Why did this make me so emotional 😭 I love your Vietnam vlogs so much, it’s always so beautiful to see your family ❤

I think mainly it's the relaxing, dreamy music. With some bright feel-good music, the mood would be completely different (I like both the production style and the melancholic mood).
Your grandmother is so beautiful. Look forward to seeing them again next year😊
The grandma composed so well in the photography session, and she looks so elegantly happy and healthy 😂
You can see the emotion and recollection in your father’s face when he talks about grandpa’s hat. How touching!
It’s easy to understand how you are such a beautiful person because you come from a family of such beautiful souls. Thank you 🙏
I’m crying at the photo montage at the end 😭 such a sweet gesture to your family
What a lovely story. It is fascinating to see another culture across the generations. Thank you for sharing.
0:12 damn Benji, the way my jaw dropped. that's some real cinematography. the lightning, angle and the composition is top notch!! Like it came straight from a film

I had to stop the video to write this comment because I feel like you have the most honest and raw vlogs that many second-generation queer Asians, like myself, can really relate to. Our lives often straddle between two cultures and two countries. It feels so refreshing and relatable to watch your vlogs because girl 🥺I feel so s.e.e.n 🌟
You with your little cousin was heart-warming 💚
This is my favorite vlog of you with your family. Got a little teary eyed at the end.
This video reminds me of my childhood. I miss my grandma.
Benji, as a 70 year old who finished high school and started college during the “Vietnam conflict” (we weren’t allowed to call it a war) my political perspective is very different than what you’re presenting now: a very unified country with a balance of city life and rural life. Thank goodness you and your dad are bi-lingual so you can interface with your relatives and talk on camera! These videos have been very educational. I also see how bad your mosquito bites on your face have turned out: with the blistering! Wow!! I guess you just wait for the swelling to go away and DON’T itch them…..
4:12 you think you just fell out of a coconut tree?

Thank you so much for sharing, Benji. The last part had me in tears. I live in Australia but all my family are in the Philippines. I can’t wait to see them again next year. It’s been 5 years since I’ve seen them
this made me cry. as someone who hasn't returned to vietnam and has lost some of my family, it feels healing to watch your videos
i cannot describe in words how nostalgic it feels to watch your vietnam vlogs i love all the simple stories
This video is truly special and healing. I appreciate all you shared, your kind energy, and just your gentle spirit. Thank you for being you.
Such a beautiful, and inspiring family. Thank you for sharing these precious moments with us, whenever you travel to Vietnam. I especially love the moments you have with your dad. He seems like such a loving father. Much love Benji.
I just love this channel. I didn't finished watching, but I had to start write a comment right away. It is just crazy how I see Vietnam has certain simillariets with Brazil, the country I was born. I love the way you portrait your reality, family, personality, nature. I just paused the video when where playing a brazilian song. Just do it and be you, I will be here to watch whatever it is...
The ancestor table made me tear up- such a beautiful custom.
I cried to this, such a beautiful capture of a simpler life for many who have gone abroad, including myself. Makes me miss the Philippines so much ❤️
This family tree is everything 🫶🏻
the peaceful, clean, fresh air, natural Vietnamese countryside is superior compared to the conditions of Vietnamese city living
❤ I love the Alters and how your family honors your ancestors, So 🙏 respectful. I watched your video several times.
A house filled with family makes a beautiful home
I loved seeing you connect with your cousin by doing her favorite activity with her, very sweet 😊 I wish more people would be as thoughtful.
Watching from Florida. I so love this particular post. I am from the Philippines and everything you all did is exactly what we do when we go visit, including the ceremonial food for the dead relatives. In regional vernacular,Ilocano,we call it atang(ah tongue). The Philippines is also a Catholic country,so prayers and altars are also a huge part of everyday ritual. Need I mention the food! Of course, all day long! Lastly, family, family, family. What a small world!
Wow! I'm watching this video from Brazil and I couldn't help getting emotional over how similar Vietnam is to Brazil. I constantly visit my grandparent's farm too, cutting sugar canes and making juice from it later, going around the land and picking up fruit and vegetables for dishes, the dog happily running around and the heat... wow, just wow! Beautifully made video with a beautiful family and culture; thank you for sharing this experience with us.
your so lucky to have both your foreign and domestic family, they are all so loving. (your hair gets big in the humidity) hee hee
What a lovely home and family. Thank you for sharing your culture with us 🥰
I'm far from home now, and this video makes me miss my family so much. Its vibe is really close and peaceful. Feeling like this is my family, too 😢
Because of you and this video I contacted my cousin again, I am from India and every summer I used to go to my grandparents' house and all of my cousins would be there too, we used to play in the afternoon sun and just eat random snacks my grandparents used to make us sometimes, my grandfather was obsessed with and still is with "Gola", it's just crushed ice shaped into a ball and then you pour syrups over it, we used to eat that everyday in the summer. I miss those days because we can't meet very often these days and it's been almost 4 years since we all were together at my grandparents, lost touch with my cousins whom I cherish the most. This video just made my heart warm again and all my childhood memories came in rushing. I am 23 and life's been hectic with work and studies and this just made me feel like I can feel something again.
Your grandmother is so beautiful. Cherish those pictures.
I love watching you and your family in a vlog together!
wow, what a beautiful family and a lovely home. thank you for sharing with us.
also I cried when you said goodbye to your family. They are so harmonious and their place is so lovely.
J'adore regarder tes vidéos quand tu es là-bas. Tellement inspirant. Merci 💜
I love these vlogs, Benji! So beautiful. They have me thinking about my family.
I was surprised to see that flower, because I saw that flower in Sri Lanka (my country )too. 💜️💜️💜️
this is one of your best and most beautiful vids benji.
Very touching. A family worth having around
Things have not been the best with my family, and I’ve lost a lot. Your videos made me remember all the things I valued then, and miss today.
benji these are the most peaceful videos i've ever seen :) i watch them when i need to calm down, and they work wonders. i'm very glad you were able to be with your family.
i love your Vietnam videos since it always reminds me of my visits to Mexico from the huge family, to my dad or mom always excited to show/tell us things from their youth. My bf is also Vietnamese- american so its nice to learn little things about his culture :) would love to visit Vietnam one day ❤
These moments with your family are so special. Your family is so hard working and have an amazing home and farm. These are going to be wonderful videos to look back on in the future!
The Brazilian music !! ❤️ so much more love for you now
everytime i watch your videos when you come home, i tear up. as someone studying abroad, it reminds me of every moment that i am missing with my parents
thanks for sharing benji ♡ many of us first/second gen can relate to these experiences so much. it makes me miss home overseas where true luxury is just being with family and enjoying the simple life.
8:40 and the photos at the end are so precious, i wish i though to capture more of my grandparents while they were here
This is beautifull to watch and also makes me sad ...realising my son and even my younger self, why are we not growing up in multigeneration houses..with cousins etc..this is what they talk about when they says "community". This family is beautifull💕😊
🥹Awwh your dad remembering his childhood when talking about all they had. Have you done a video where he goes more in depth of his life in Vietnam?
Loved the Brazilian music at 11:30 min 😉 also enjoyed the vídeo, thanks for sharing
its remind me of grandparents home, a tropical countryside philippines, a lot of tropical fruits like sugarcane, simple and very healthy living way, has a peace of mind. SEA countries has same scenery and weather, crops and fruits. abundant of food
the editing was spot on !!
You have such a wonderful family. The relationship you have with your parents is so loving. These videos are so informative. Thank you.
This vlog is so cute! I love how honest you were in the video. I felt a tinge of sadness when you left and said goodbye to your family; it’s truly heartbreaking. I know the feeling because that's what I feel every time I go to Puerto Rico and see my family. The little time I had with my grandmother and when I visited my great-grandmother who lives in the highest mountains of the island was so special. I had so little time with her, but it was incredibly meaningful because she lives such a peaceful life. In reality, it’s not easy to live a life like that, but they are very persistent. They wake up very early to work in the agriculture field, tending to the animals and all of that. I truly love this video, and I hope to go to Vietnam one day.
I feel very privileged to have shared these moments your family and such a unique culture. Again a wonderful thing.
This is real life ghibli, I love everything about this! It’s so beautiful and relaxing
My soul is fed after watching this.
What a lovely family you have. Thank you for sharing some of your trip. I truly love all your videos, but especially the ones in Vietnam 🧡🌿
You appreciating the slow life and mundane things in your hometown brings me so much healing!
What a great relationship you have with your Dad! A beautiful family in Vietnam. Love your Vietnam blogs.
I love how culture is so important in a structure family ! the simpler life in a country side is soooooo beutfulll, health and cool!
something about this made me feel weepy. So wholesome and warm
benjiii the portraits at the end have me emotionallll!!!!! omg the 20 year old recreation was moving!! family is everything. thank you for sharing.
omg the shot of you waking up in that dim room with a bug net is so beautiful 😌 what a nice vacation benji, full of family and food 💗
This life can be hard but it’s wholesome 😊 These are priceless memories. Most importantly everyone looks happy
Awesome! I too remember popping the crossandra seeds in water in the backyard of my grandma's house.😀 Fun!
This is so inexplicably beautiful and healing. To have this kind of culture and community is a treasure I hope you never take for granted (though it seems like you definitely don't!). Thank you so much for letting us all share some of this magic with you
Quelle magnifique famille !
omg living in vietnam is like living in the Philippines specifically in the provonce, everything is just the same😍temperature, food, plants, way of life huhu

Your videos are such a happy comfort for me. Your family is the family I strive to have one day. You truly have a gift. Keep up the great work. Thank you 😊
I was genuinely happy watching this video, because I'm from Brazil I realized that Vietnamese culture is very similar to Brazilian culture. Thank you for sharing your experience, watching was really fun! :)
Oh this is perfect timing, I just landed in Vietnam tonight! Beautifully filmed as always ❤
It's always so lovely connecting with family back home and just cherishing moments together ❤

I definitely enjoy your Vietnam posts and your time with your family there the most. Your family seems very cozy and relaxed. I laughed hard at the dog hopping through the grass.
You are reminding me of my trips to my grandma’s in Malaysia. The same idyllic setting filled with delicious food and fruit from the trees. I also feel you about the mosquitoes. I’m usually their first target too. (You have been kissed by a mosquito!) Thank you for sharing your time in Vietnam!
