I've visited there from the west as a Liberian. The country is absolutely filthy and disgusting. Firstly upon arrival I was hit by the smell of fouled humid air after getting off the plane. At the airport there appeared to be a breakdown of order amongst airport employees which I can attribute to poor training. I've noticed the reception area meant to receive passengers was extremely overcrowded by poorly trained and not well-mannered airport staff shouting at each with contradictory instructions. Before I got to this point, I've observed airport staff asked some passengers to climb the stairscase before entering the terminal whilst others were told to walk directly into the terminal. I've then realised that those told to walk directly into the terminal were begged for cash as bribe and those asked to climb the steep staircase with their hand luggages were those that staff thought wouldn't give in to giving them bribe which is locally called "cold water". The entire terminal was lingered with unpleasant human body oder of the airport chaotic employees. . .something I've never seen at european or United states airports during my previous travels. I've observed staff literally begging for cash from passengers including myself. Some staff would approach passengers if they needed their help to have their luggages brought to them and also facilitate the speeding up of their immigration process. And those passengers that agreed have to bribe them as a way of saying thank you. Giving cash could take you from the back of the queue straight to another team responsible to giving the final immigration stamp. I've also realised that these bribings for short cut have some connections with officials at the top who get a share of the bribe. In Monrovia I've noticed that people could sense that I have just arrived from abroad as many kept saying "welcome home" and then begging me for cash. I've got no idea how these people knew I'm from abroad. The prevalence of extreme poverty was very noticeable to the point I left like crying and giving away everything that I've got. Whilst in Liberia I was exploited with higher prices when they've heard that my ascent wasn't quite like the local ascent. They've attacked me and stolen my phone and cash as well but I did meet some really nice and honest people there too.

This is so sad the rest of the world is developed outrageous. The African Americans would have made this place a paradise. African Americans in america are living so well. When then came to liberia the people should have welcomed them an kept them there. Liberian is sad and they love to argue about their conditions saying that it's due to the war this has nothing to do with the Lord the African American descendants of slaves would have developed this country that there were Tribal wars the African Americans saw the natives as uncivilized and been natives Liberia that is so African Americans it's nothing more than occupied this is why this land will remain so while the rest of the world has is doing great and our gaining well wealth
