I agree. Desire is not rational in either sex and leads both men and women to do things that are incredibly self destructive. If a man really loves a woman he will side with the part of her that is aiming up rather than the side of her that is aiming down.

Indeed. They have many accurate observations,, but then they use flawed assumptions (failing to submit to Scripture) and reach unsound conclusions which, while potentially pragmatic, are contrary to Scripture

Doug used the word *_hypergamous._* I guess this makes him 'based and redpilled.' At any rate, the mere acknowledgement of the concept is rare from conservative pastors, so props for being in touch.

This fictional letter to a nephew from an uncle format really gives off some Screwtape letter vibes. Most likely intentional. I love it.

Just forwarded this to my 14-year old son as a way of starting a conversation early regarding the way of the (fallen) world and finding a potential Christian mate.

Statistically, his best chances are to get a girl before she's 19, definitely before 22, so in other words before he's older than 25, otherwise the girls start to get bitter and double down on being picky from their mid 20s until mid 30s when they start to realize that they can't have whatever they want and the guys they used to dislike are actually really good men. I'm 32 and I'm too old for the 18-23 crowd but the girls between 23-34 are messed up, so I'm hoping I can find a 35-37 year old girl who's actually mature enough for me. Now, every individual is an individual case. But this is my observation of the general statistical trend

This is so true. It came to pass in my marriage that my wife became the sole bread winner and I was going to just take care of the kids. That lasted 6 months before she had a mental breakdown and I was threatened with divorce. God’s ways are best. Now if anyone ask, and even if they don’t “Women go home”

As a 54 year old single "old school Christian" male that is in the dating world, this analysis is spot on. I think it is mostly American women who are this way due to the social conditioning they are bombarded with daily. I have dated women of other nationalities that don't seem to have thilese same misconceptions. I have always referred to it as women being hypocritical (saying they want one thing but contradicting themselves by their very actions) I appreciate the way Doug has given it a more detailed analysis and explanation. Excellent.

Be encouraged dear friend. You know, sometimes things won't make sense in your mind. It will take time maybe even more than a year to just "accept." There are some deep things that are not really explainable.These things you will only receive when God reveals them to your heart.You will need to pray so that the Lord can show you what is actually going on. Another thing: there are instances in my life for example, where a friend was going out with someone. And those of us who knew that friend would know that this relationship could never work because of some fundamental value system issues. (Like they both go to different churches that have too many core differences, or one of them wants kids and the other one doesn't. Or one of them is suffering from depression and has not yet sought help for their pain) But then, how do you tell them while they are in love? No one listens properly to wisdom when they are in love. If you want, please sit down with the most honest of your friends and let them tell you what they really think. It may be a very painful conversation but it may help.

Love the analogy of harmony. It's really an eye opener.

Really needed to hear this rn.

Brings me back to my one friend who kept saying that "God wants me single", but what she really meant was that, she wanted to control the way relationships went, so she used "God wants me single", to try and limit the amount of men who would pursue after her so she could pursue after men she chose. She was trying to use God to control her life the way she wanted it to be. And she did marry who she wanted, which was actually somebody who was just as controlling, possibly even more, then she was. She loved control and she got it. Rather then marrying into an environment where she would be challenged and become greater in Christ, she wanted to keep everything the same all the time. She wanted the most amount for the least amount of effort. But, just as with following Jesus, you are not going to always "feel" safe, as God calls us to something truly higher and greater. She wanted to always "feel" safe all the time. She was simply doing what she naturally felt was right(like Eve) and trying to make herself be protected by her own efforts. But, marriages built upon control and ego, aka, two pieces of flesh staying two pieces of flesh in themselves, instead of two becoming one flesh in Jesus, will experience lots of marital difficulty and possibly even divorce.

I think there needs to be more of these especially in today's culture

Not accurate. It's necessary to know that a woman understands who she is in Christ and what her role is vis-a-vis her husband, and that requires being able to see and hear her speak so as to understand her thoughts

Same with men. Perhaps even more so with men, as theirs is a way of action and of doing. What a man does with his spare time, how he structures his life, and how he fixes (or fails to fix) various problems are absolutely indicative of his character. Don’t listen to what men say, watch their daily life unfold and see what he actually prioritizes. That’s how I chose my husband, despite having several... offers from various other Christian men, I guess you can say.

Married people are completely and thoroughly callous to the plight of singles and always will be and married people always fall back on one of two responses. Either GOD'S plan for marriage or rejoice in your season.....they will sing a very different tune when they are returned to their singleness because of death or divorce......show them no mercy either

unfortunately the church has abandoned the singles because most are all marrieds and believe "this is how its always been, so suck it up." two things i dont see in the church anymore. both from elders: One, i see no elders laying hands on the sick. two, i dont see older women (and widows) teaching the younger. (or for that matter at all, younger women in church, as they are in careers, and the world.)

Great video, one small nitpick though, when he say’s “he’s singing flat and she is singing sharp” it doesn’t make much musical sense. A-flat is g-sharp. It would make more sense if he said “he’s singing natural and she is singing sharp”.

Doug I really wish I could agree with you on a young earth. It's simply too difficult for me. It would make things A LOT simpler, but I can't ignore the wealth of evidence (I recognize that YEC will dispute it). It's a theological problem for me that God would allow the world to show, deceptively, that it is very ancient. Fossils, Strata, evolution's explanatory power (massive). I'm paraphrasing a book by Stephen Davis called Rational Faith. Now, I do not at all want to discourage anyone from believing in YEC. I am simply saying that, I don't believe there is a strong case for it outside of a plain english reading of Genesis.

I believe in a literal six day creation process as described in Genesis, though I think there's some reason to believe the genealogies are not complete and the timeline of events after that are rather compressed. I also believe the earth is not young. It is old, having a history of billions of years, where dinosaurs walked upon the face of the planet and all that. And i frankly don't understand why people who take Genesis literally like i do, would have any problem with earth being old. When God makes a tree-grown and fruiting for Adam to eat from, does he make it with a single ring so it is clearly young? Why would he do that? Would he not make the tree old, with roots deep, rings aplenty, and fruit ready made? When God makes a star millions of miles away, does he have to make it and wait for the light to travel so far? Why? Why could he not make it old and far, truly old, truly far, with a million years of history behind it for the light to reach the earth and be among the countless ones He showed to Abraham? Why do we imagine that carbon dating and fossils must be explained away by flood catastrophes or anything like that? Why can they not be the very real, very true backstory of the earth, just as God created and planned it all along? When Tolkien created all those stories of millenia of Middle-Earth history, did he have to take millenia to do it? No! That's crazy. Do we insist Tolkien must have written it all beginning to end without edits and revisions throughout all of his Middle-Earth's history as he filled out the story? No! That's a silly constraint to put on a writer. So why do people think they have to decide between either believing that the Author of all reality must either be speaking in metaphor when He says he spent six days creating or else that we can't trust our eyes and tools and measurements of all the fossils and starlight and other things we find in that reality? That's a stupid, false dichotomy. Believe your tools, continue to refine your science of studying ancient earth, and don't think for a second that any of that contradicts a literal six day process of creation. It doesn't. It doesn't even make sense to me how those even could be contradictory. God is clear. He created it all in six days. But nowhere there does He say that it was created young, without a real, true, and long history. Would you deny the Author and creator of all reality, who is eternal and created time itself, the right to write reality as any of our authors subcreate their own fantasy worlds? I won't. God has every right to layer histories of planets and stars and plants and animals and people into the Story in whatever order He wishes. Do not imagine He must start at the beginning and only work forward. That's a very low view of God, that tries to subject Him to the very rules of spacetime that He is creating while He is creating them. Nonsense, i say!

Read or listen to Dr Jason Lisle. He will describe and teach you about the “evidence”of evolution etc. He describes carbon dating and other types of tools that evolutionist use and why they are erroneous. Blessings!

There is no wealth of evidence for an old earth given Biblical presuppositions. There is also no deception on God's part if anyone believes secular theories over sacred scripture. None of the scientific "evidence" you cite can definitively tell you the age of anything scientifically because, this is _critical,_ the past is not a domain applicable to scientific inquiry. Age is not a physical substance - you can't put it under a microscope and examine it. The best you can do is make assumptions about rates and initial conditions. The study of the past is the subject of history not of science, and fortunately for us we have a first hand account from God almighty who does not lie.

Hey, I'm not Mr. Wilson, but I will give my 2 cents nonetheless. From what it sounds like, what you mean by niceness is not kindness, which is a virtue that we should strive for and that you are already pretty good at. What you mean is being a crowd pleaser who has to put on a chimp costume in order to gain the reputation of being a fun, likable guy even at the expense of you losing respect or not standing up for a just cause. That "something" you mentioned sounds like the fear of what people can do to you or think about you. I struggle with this too, a lot! Firstly, seek and relish God's favor over man's favor. If you are a Christian, know that you are God's soldier, and that hearing "Well done my good and faithful servant" is better than any applause man can give you. Who cares what people think about you if God be on your side! Secondly, Give your fear of man over to God in regular prayer. Thirdly, boldness must be practiced. There's nothing wrong with being a goofy person at certain times to make others joyful, but the issue is switching hats when it's time to be serious or face your fears or confront wrong. Practice by intentionally initiating uncomfortable or confrontational situations. If one of these situations catches you by surprise, your natural instinct will be to put on the nice-guy-chimp costume. However, if you purpose ahead of time to have these confrontations (even if you have to write down what you want to say), you will be in a better position to start flexing your boldness muscles, which will later help you in unexpected situations. Write down at least one confrontation or uncomfortable situation that you will initiate within a week (i.e. asking woman out on a date, telling a coworker to stop with a certain behavior against you, or not wearing a certain accessory over your mouth when you go to work). Do not worry about the execution so that you go into analysis paralysis, JUST DO IT!!! Hope this was helpful.

Like the time when i was a boy living with angry people being yelled at anything and hated by children beeing not accepted. No doubt some guys are bitter, but some just see the dangers in marriage as a result of our legal system and opt out. Men are standing on a trap door (child custody, finances, etc) and their wives can pull the lever any time they're not happy. Not all women will, but all of them have the option to.

I get that. Hurt men often go to those circles just like hurt women often go to hyper-feminist circles. The question is, where *should* we go when we are hurt? Do the people in those echo chambers of hurt bow down to the Great Physician who can heal them? Or the machinery of evolution? Who do they think has the answer? Do they seek to glorify God? Or themselves? Easy answer. Look at the comment we are all responding to.

If women are hypergamous then I guess men are hyper-chickalicious.

Men that are feminists, stop. Modern women don't know what they want for the most part, but I can tell you, its not a soft emotional feminist man. Look to God and what he says about masculinity and work hard, this is what women really want. Women want a man that can direct them in the right path (towards God), who won't bend over when challenged (unless you're legitimately wrong about something) and who will look after them (physically and financially- especially when they have their children). I always say, women want men who understand their emotion but not men that are emotional. Honestly, if you just stick to the bible and traditional gender roles and not get sucked into this modern feminism stuff you'll be set. Men might think women want a man that waves the feminist banner but they don't, they don't truly respect men who deny masculinity and sacrifice it for the cause of feminity and this is why even feminist women break up with men who are feminist. Again, most women are confused by the feminist propaganda and don't really know what they want. My husband helped me see this, when we first met I used to lightly dabble in feminist stuff but now I see it for what it is, a weapon to create tension and war between the sexes. Both genders are important, they each hold merit, and should be respected equally but not treated like they're the same, but they're equally important to the equation of harmony.

The classic female choice for her mate dates right back to the garden and has weakened if not destroyed American churches: Eve rejected Adam's authority and chose to pay heed to the Alpha "serpent"; this was the first sin: Eve rejected the godly man, still in the glory of his creation, for the supposedly more glorious alpha chad: Cain was Eve's first born; Abel was Adam's. And this dynamic is still prevalent today most egregiously in the church: I have watched decent young men, men raised in the church and who have their character developed therein, be rejected by women whom the church lady and pastor claim to be good girls; I have watched these so-called good girls get all perky and bouncy when the "newly reformed" -- or not -- bad boy or wallet walks in the front door. Church girl marries bad boy/wallet and they are accepted by the church organization; as time progresses the couple - especially the man -- rises up in the church hierarchy, becomes an elder, and consequently damages the churches doctrine: he has no background in Christian doctrine the life long member has; so, he is taught by and accepts his new wife's "Christian" teaching (herein is one of the reason church girls are reluctant to marry church raised boys{ she gets to teach her "Christianity" thereby having power/leadership over her husband). The nice church guy finally marries in his late twenties or early thirties to some girl who is settling at age 29 because she could not get the bad boy or wallet she really wanted. Genesis relates that Adam was 100 y.o. when he again knew Eve and begat Seth; this was after Cain slew Abel: Adam was really pissed off at Eve. I have come to the conclusion the tale of Lilith is a tale about Eve's rejection of Adam: the Hebrew elders wanted to downplay if not paper over Eve's rebellion. The modern female has become Lilith.

Well written and extremely accurate observation. I had never seen Eves rebellion in that context. Sound doctrine is to be vigilantly defended, and a sure cost is loneliness, especially in this age of apostasy. Eccles 7:23

I think it was better when families arranged marriages.
