I lived in Lima Peru for 6 years that's where I met my soon to be ex-wife. We were together for 13 years And lived the last 7 years in the states. If I were to do it again I would never have taken her away from Peru. Family for latinos Is super super important. Not like us Americans who bail at 18 years old.

These are words of wisdom we will not take lightly. And this is something we’ve been a little hyper conscious of… And also another reason to maintain 100% remote work in whatever form those jobs, opportunities, or businesses they come in.

Amazing episode! Thank you for making it! Speaking of places to visit, go to as many as you can. I traveled every continent on Earth and this experience is what I consider the most precious treasure in my life apart from family and I am almost 64 now. By the way Widny, you would love to be in Vancouver, Canada where I live for the last 25 years. It has all you like (mountains, rivers, lakes, ocean, forests, etc.) and it is the warmest place in whole Canada. We rarely have snow here, only in the mountains. You literally can ski and swim in the ocean in the same day here.

Thank you! We feel the same... Traveling the world is very fulfilling for us. Thanks for the tip on Vancouver. I know we've considered spending time in Seattle, but I think Vancouver is even closer to mountains than Seattle. We also love Asian cuisine and from what I know, Vancouver is full of it!

@@lifetheorycouple Very true. Asian cuisine here is one of the best if not the best on the entire continent, especially if you like sushi. Speaking of mountains, the city is located at the foothills of the mountain range. Plus it is a very safe place.

I would not miss any American beauty products. I have lived here for half of my life, and I have never been able to find a mascara better than MaxFactor, and I tried many, many. Colombia has very good cosmetic brands; hence products. Perhaps, vitamins in USA might be superior, but that's it. Also, in the USA you can find a lot of food variety, but most of it is imported. Colombia does not need to import anything, it is the best quality and incomparable fresh. Remember that *a tree in Colombia grows 3 times faster than in Chile and 9 times faster than in USA or Canada. Lloro, Choco is the place where it rains the most in the world.*

Nice analysis! The abundance of nature makes Colombia great. I could not image what it would be like without it. - Beauty products we like are Beauty Counter and Cocokind... As those brands tend to not have a bunch of harmful chemicals. THANK YOU FOR WATCHING, what a great comment!

You are not going to find any better place than Colombia, regarding nature, since *Colombia is the Most Bio-diverse Country in the World by Km², and 2nd. by extension, after Brazil.* It truly is the most beautiful country in the world. Although, it was placed in 3rd. place after New Zeland and Indonesia, those countries don't offer the variety of Colombia, regarding weather and type of nature. They don't have the Andes mountains, the Amazon jungle, in which you can find incomparable jewels. Colombia did not take the first place, because it does not have the political influential force than the other two do. Colombia is the most underestimated country in the world. Not to mention the permanent happy environment that you won't find anywhere else in the world. A country where you can eat a different fruit every single day for a year. And the list goes on and on.

Jaja ... oh yes, the lines! My favourite thing is when you get in what looks like the shortest line, but just when it's almost your turn, the rest of the family arrives with all their stuff! Or, they have 10 minutes of bills to pay. Or, they forgot one thing and leave the line for 5 minutes to find it while everyone has to wait. 😂

You guys are funny. Truth about US on question 8. It is funny how people full of comforts are so sour. You guys can try Hawaii or Puerto Rico for slower pace US. If not US try Costa Rica, healthier, slower pace, nature, mountains and perfect climate.

That is the irony of life... Comforts make people lazy in general. Thanks for the tips! Yeah, in short, we're torn between the convenience of cities but love the peacefulness of the country side.

Costa Rica is exquisite, but the cost of living there is way higher than in Colombia, and real estate is soaring. If you can afford it... its the only place I prefer over Colombia.

I 😂 so hard at your annoyances with Colombia. They are so true! Crepes & Waffles is 1 of our favorite places but the service… crickets. All the things you don’t like about the culture of the US are very poignant. We are slightly older than you both but 1 of us is American also. We have literally the same complaints. And I have had the same issue of “ I will miss my products I can only get in the US too”. So much to relate to here. I understand Whitney not wanting the hustle lifestyle. It’s hard even when you grew up in the US.

HAHAHA! - Yes, the US is very business-centric and often times you find that's all people tend to think or care about. It can get quite exhausting.

You described well the complete resistance of the Colombian worker or business to do anything that is not fully toeing the line or in the book. Ask for an exception, even if it saves the business time and money, and you can see heads explode. Coffee was a funny one too... first of all, they will give you 6 oz. of coffee at the table (not the American standard lol), and like you said, if its coffee con leche, well you only get 3 oz. of coffee.... and good luck ever getting a refill. I know its easier to criticize than praise, but then we already chose to live here so the praise is baked in... but if I missed it, I did not here "banking" as an annoyance. If banking is not annoying in Bucaramanga, then I am moving there tomorrow. Another one... I thought I loved children (and yes, I have them) until I moved here... they are permitted to be so loud in every way (screaming, crying, complaining), and Colombians seem completely unfazed by it. And why not? I respect it, but its such a contrast to what I was accustomed to in New England.
