It really says a lot about Steve's reputation that someone from France is having his engine built here by the Morris fam and sent all the way back across the Atlantic. Shoutout to Kyle, really growing in his skills and doing so well.
Steve should be proud of how far Kyle has come.

That Hemi is one beautiful jewel. Hope to see pics of it in the car
Its crazy to see how far these guys have come with being comfortable and being themselves on camera than when they first started. Keeps getting better and better.
I bought a bill mitchell block for my turbo charged max wedge built. The porosity in the main and cam bores covered about 15% of the surface, all of the threads had the peaks ripped out, and there was an entire 2"x1" chunk welded back onto the corner of the oil pan rail before it was machined. When I finally convinced him to accept a return he bitched about the orange paint marker I used to circle the welded area because he's just going to sell it to someone else. Bought a keith black block for $1000 more and it's leaps and bounds better in every aspect including customer support. One of the core plugs had a damaged thread, when I called them they sent an entire set free of charge
You’re not the best because you are perfect every time you’re the best because you are there till the end and make sure it’s right before it goes out to your customers.

You’re a true pro Steve to fix someone else’s mistake. The frenchies took that engine to the right place. 👍🏻
Just saw you leaving the freedom factory! You’re the man Steve!

Wow; that Hemi is like one giant piece of polished jewelry ! Sorry about the sleeve issue. Your customer has been treated very well and is happy ; so congrats to SME for that. Great video and many thanks.
I had a tall deck aluminum BBC that the sleeves dropped twice in two seasons. Had to have the block decked after each rebuild....
it happens Steve... you don't want it too, but sometimes it does!! You just gotta roll with the punches!!! Thanks for sharing!

It's nice to see that even the pros have issues once in a while. So far, I'm 9weeks out on a set of valves 10weeks on the cam and block just showd that it needs a sleeve. What's the common reason that the sleeves dropped? Because usually their bottomed out pretty well upon assembly.
New window look awesome man. Now get another George orwell quote!! I LOVE HEMI'S!!!
As you should. Must make sure water doesn't leak out.
I'd really like to see how to properly install engine sleeves. Including boring the block and step and the heating,or cooling and especially the tooling to drive the sleeves in or??
Nice job one little problem you don’t run the sealing rings at the bottom of the spark plugs on a hemi .the spark plug tube is the seal the ring cuts the spark plug tube causing a oil leak

Raced a SSEA 66 street hemi for years motor by Vanke, headby Barton. Vanke told me to keep washers on plugs. They did cut into tunes but I ran milodon, tube seals. No leaks.
Great Video !!! Even if some one. Did the work. I still always ck it. People are human. An mistakes are made. But you are the man and can fix it. Great job. Good street HP.
Hi Dewey❤
It's tough for people to put it into perspective. That is 2% of gross revenue gone, PLUS losses as that stuff needs to be replaced, PLUS another week of work to do the job. Conservatively, Steve easily lost 4% of gross revenue (likely higher loss of net income) for the year. As a business owner, that can be the difference between going racing and sitting out a season
Great job guys. You shouldn't have gotten stuck with eating the rebuild.
@garthp9874
3 ай бұрын
Maybe yes and maybe no. When you get parts to assemble an engine it would seem that who ever installed the sleeves should have sent paperwork saying that they were installed and bottomed out in the block. If no paperwork then that should have been verified by Steve Morris Engines. If that is the only problem with this build then the owner of the engine should be thrilled and Steve learned a valuable lesson. Of course Steve will make it right.
