thanks to the latest minecraft snapshot introducing me to this, i had no clue mangroves did this! It honestly seems like an obvious way for plants above the water to reproduce

Grew up in Southwest Florida, literally amongst the Mangroves, and still can always learn something new. Very interesting stuff.

Very clever how it floats then eventually sinks vertically and sticks into the bottom of the water, I've recently just planted one in my garden in a pot and was curious how it was able to grow in the wild

Same! I was swimming in the ocean and swam across a seed and decided to take it home to add to my fish tank.

.......But it is real :/ ( I grow black mangroves because I live too far up north in Florida for the red mangroves to grow). I don't really know if you are being sarcastic or not.

Interesting that the first picture of a seed pod was of "rosary peas" a very, very poisonous type of pea.

Can they grow like the video showed completely submerged ! Like root then shoot through the surface and then sprout leaves ? Or should they be planted half in water half out of water ?? Thx

I live south fla and Miami wants to get rid of our mangroves I am sad for this this is where the wildlife lives at and the water too have beautiful fishes there and birds all over it's sad they want to get rid of it and tear it down it breaks my heart this is mother earth this mangroves protected from the hurricane for a high times we need it there got why is Miami getting rid of the mangroves it hurts me
