I had horrible money management skills--bad credit, school debt, uncaring attitude to credit. Mid thirties, I couldn't do anything. I got an overnight job at a warehouse, stopped spending anything I didn't have to, stopped eating out, stopped buying anything I didn't absolutely need. It took nearly three years of 60+ hour weeks to pay everything off and now my life feels so much more free. I feel like I can do anything now. I'm planning a trip to Europe, so I can't recommend money discipline enough.

Yeah, see? A few years and you can be debt free or save up so much money that the next several years you have soooo much freedom. I saved up so much money in 3 years after I was irresponsible with my money and got in a car crash. I turned my whole life around. Now I don't gotta work 60-80 hours a week anymore because I set myself up with a comfy savings and now I'm investing. People are just lazy and want things NOW instead of waiting until later. Wanna know why divorce is so high? Because people WANT to get married, but they don't want to put in the work it takes to have a healthy marriage. It's no different than that.

I am totally opening myself to hate but just thought I’d add a different perspective. I am a life coach and hate the title life coach. It sounds weird/condescending but I have a chronic illness and wasn’t able to work a 9-5 nor go to college to be a therapist like I would have hoped and have been pretty homebound. The thing I am good at is helping people get to the root of their issues. Life coach is a title I can use to help others with the knowledge I’ve gained and make a living for myself but without being a therapist. Just like every field there are good apples and bad. I totally understand your perspective tho

I struggle with financial literacy, discipline and addiction, and have been trying to work through it for years, but its hard with where my life is rn, I finally have been able to get into therapy and soon will be moving out, so my root triggers wont be a major problem and I'm excited to push myself, looking for tools to help, and that guys one video had me better calculating and planning my future grocery shops around my mental difficulties. Bruh one video! For free! When any financial advice i got before seemed to point out the obvious without helping me figure out how to process it myself, it usually feels like a foreign language, when by the end of his video i felt like I was finally being taught the language instead of getting bad subtitles 🙌🏼🙏🏽🙏🏽 thanks for sharing, this couldnt have come at a better time really 😂

Interest is a killer, and that's something Caleb often emphasizes and why having high credit card debt is horrible. One piece of advice I could offer if you have a lot of credit card debt is committing yourself to never using your credit card again (cut it up, throw it away), get a consolidation loan for significantly less APR rates, and pay it off. Depending on how much debt you have it may take years, but once you do pay it off, you'll feel so free.

One of the biggest habits I've picked up is asking myself "do I actually NEED this. I know I want it and might could use it but do I NEED it right now. Or is it going to sit there waiting on the possibility I might do something, while I feel bad for doing nothing with it". Then I end up walking away, I may spend 20 minutes wandering around the store thinking about it but 98% of the time I don't waste the money. If it's online, it'll spend a week or more sitting in the shopping cart and then I end up deleting it. If you can go an extended period without it, you didn't need to waste the money on it when you wanted to buy it. It's reached the point where sometimes, I feel bad for even considering buying something I KNOW I don't need.

Issue is that she can mostly likely get the things she WANTS. She has disposable income left even after saving. She just w more moderation. Plus, it’s nothing new for people income to increase and they want to get things they couldn’t afford when making less. That’s a natural occurrence that happens.

I think you are underselling yourself, I used to do this as well but there's no point in doing so. I'm sure that a lot of people could have learned from your example especially today. If not for me switching majors I would have a similar backstory minus the kids and my business is going to be centralized on helping people that I'm starting this year everything from finances to general life help. The difference is that unlike this woman I have certs and licenses to back me up and I'll be getting my FINRA series done too.

I understand what you’re saying but even for someone who has lived a lot of life by 27, they haven’t yet had time to examine their life decisions and see where they went right or wrong…you can’t give that kinda advice when you’re still in the throws of just living through trial and error. And 27 is absolutely way too early to be able to do that kind of deep examining.

I'm bad with money because I grew up poor and couldn't have what I needed sometimes, much less what I wanted. When I got my own money, I didn't save and overspent. Now 3 of my four credit cards are paid off, and I'm paying off the last one from using it for a surgery I needed. I'm saving money now. My credit score is in the mid 600s and rising. I'm finally paying on my student loans. It took tears and a lot of talking eith my therapist but I managed to stop digging a hole and start filling it. I can provide my kids with not only their needs, but also their wants, within reason. You can absolutely build your financial freedom back up from nothing if you put in the work and not let setbacks make you give up.

I found that a lot of the reason for my success was dealing with the issues that caused my bad spending habits. The things I spent money on, I didn't need but though I did because childhood poor trauma. having accountability also helped. You'll fail, you'll fall into the "I'm at this point, it's fine if I do x y z". it won't be fine. you'll be able to get where you want to be with a lot of hard work

My biggest financial game changer is having a fully funded 6-month emergency fund. Suddenly you get an unexpected 700 car maintenance expense, no biggie, that's what the fund is for. You sleep better at night and have a better relationship at work because this is a certain energy of if I dislike working here I can always quit on the spot and get another job and I'll be alright for half a year. Ironically I have a relationship at work since.

There are two types of teachers: those who learned by experience (older successful people) and those who learned with science. It is possible for a young genius to properly understand how life works through observation of human behavior and through understanding deep psychology and neuroscience. Unfortunately for her, she is far from either of those two. She's just a 27 year old girl who doesn't want to work but wants to live rich all by her own. Girls like her used to circle around rich guys and attempt to lock them down with looks and good behavior and enjoy the abundance the husband provides. Now they just make bad financial decisions.
