That smile and the light in her eyes. The end of the video when she says "I will see you guys soon." May her family take solace in that moment because it is so very true. You will all be together again, and in the mean time, Melanie will be watching and smiling over you. I am so very sorry for your loss. I discovered Melanie when I was just learning how to sew and she convinced me that I could do it. She touched so many people and she will be missed.

Father God, I lift up Melanie to you. Guide the doctor’s hands as they do the surgery. Give Melanie and her family a peace only you can give. I pray for fast healing. Amen.

I’m utterly shocked and saddened to read this. I just started this hobby of crocheting 4 weeks ago and her video was the first one that popped up. She was the first person to teach me and I’ve made hats, mitts and scarves, all thanks to her. What a beautiful person inside and out. May she rest in eternal peace and may God bless her family 🕊

I’m rewatching this video after hearing about Mel’s passing. What a beautiful, loving soul. I’m proud to say that this channel was/is my go-to channel when I need a new project or to brush up on my skills. I will toast a bourbon in her honor. Sending love and hugs to her family.

I just discovered Melanie and started to save her videos due to becoming a first time sewer and I stumbled onto the Memorial video. It literally broke me, my deepest apologies to her family and to all of those who loved her, she seemed to have been such a kind soul. Sending warm thoughts and prayers.

I’m so very sorry that we have lost this beautiful, bubbly, awesome lady. I’ve been crying for a week. I really didn’t know her but I really did. She came through my screen and taught me so much. I'm a praying person may God guide the medical staff and may he heal you.

I just learned of Melanie's passing last night and was absolutely devastated. Melanie was my very favorite crochet guru and my go to girl for an easy, patient lesson. I admired her beautiful smile as she opened her sweet soul and life to this community of followers. My heart goes out to her family, husband and kids and I pray for healing for them and us and that Melanie, a true angel on earth, rests in peace.

Melanie was and IS an amazing teacher and will be missed, but will live on forever with her KZread tutorials. What a beautiful woman. To your family: I'm so so sorry for your loss... Melanie, I am praying for you and your family. As a fellow crafter, I have followed your channel and your videos have brought me much joy. My mom, 3 years ago, was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. It was also a rare, aggressive cancer. She went through surgery, chemo, and radiation. She is currently cancer free. The first few months after a diagnosis like this are traumatic (and that's an understatement). But you're a strong woman, and I have total faith you will get through this. I am new to KZread and I watched your Beginner Quilt series and decided to take a leap of faith and purchased a sewing machine and supplies needed to make a similar quilt. Once I received all my supplies I successfully completed my first quilt. Thank You for the inspiration. I understand what you are currently going through as I too have gone through 2 bouts of Cancer in the last 3 years. There were days that I was so discouraged but I had to remind myself that God is in control and He will get me through no matter the outcome and He did!
