That one guy who laughed histerically when he just said "comic sans" and "helvetica" is clearly a graphic designer of some sort

I only get those kinds of jokes cos I used to date a graphic designer for a long time. They all seem to take this Comic Sans thing very personally. That is for dang for
I'd never thought i'd watch a powerpoint comedy show. Didnt even know such a thing existed. Life is good

This isn’t even his best one. I have watched a couple others and I actually think this one was the least funny (it was still funny, the other ones were just better).

This is not only highly informational, but also extremely funny! When I came to highschool my English teacher (I live in Austria) showed us this clip. The learning effect for me was so good! Since then I rocked every presentation. Still, I will come here once a year and just watch this for entertainment. The man is a legend!

Amen to that. Very few witty funny comedians with a grasp of the language where the same curse isn’t a verb, noun, adjective etc.
While this being extremely funny, this needs to be shown to everybody in school work etc. This is a great way to show how to present info without losing an audience

I started a new job as a RN for a dialysis company and our educator showed this video to us. The entire class loved it! Don McMillan is so talented and I appreciate how he brings humor to a normally dreary topic. :-)

Hello how have you been doing lately?
This is actually a great teaching tool! It should be required watching for anyone that has access to PowerPoint in their professional work.
This is great, this guy hit on every power point pet peeve currently known. I really enjoyed how he did it in a comedic way that made it fun to watch for students. Its too bad this wasnt around when I was in high school and had to sit through all the lack luster presentations by class mates.
I don't know how I just came across this. The humor is outstanding and the fact that I have had to deal with this very subject makes it even better. I was working a DOD contract for an Army "course". Occasionally the students were required to receive some classes that were presented with the Death by PowerPoint method of instruction. The cadre that prepared the instruction were thorough in their research, planning and presentation of the subject matter at hand. However, even after being told there was a quiz/test at the completion, as soon as the lights lowered and the screens came to life, the heads started to tilt and they became lifeless.

This guy was on America's Got Talent this year. It seems enough people found this video by searching for his routines, but for you and I, it just found its way on our home page.
I just want to thank my teacher for showing this in class. I almost died laughing just watching a quarter of it, I regret nothing about that. And now that I watched it completely, it's even better!
This is a classic. I watch this every now and then to avoid taking work so seriously.
I lost it at the CAKE CHART lol
My Italian professor showed us this in class - guess as a hint that a lot of presentations haven't been very good. Great video! :)

This guy's timing and delivery are incredible. He is one of the funniest guys ever. Love clean comedy.
Whatever happened to that paperclip that popped up to help you in Word... He should be in Power Point nowadays.... "Hi, It looks like you are putting every word you are going to say on this slide, can I help you?"

They should show kids this video at school to teach them how to properly use power point
Thanks for making sense of 43 years of teaching, academia and conference going. I'm taking up comedy for the next 43 years of my career.
I also had to watch this video for a class assignment. I used to think that power points were boring because I didn't know the specifics of power point presentation. This video was actually funny and I was able to learn some interesting facts on preparing a power point presentation.
I highly agree. Keeping your Powerpoint presentation simple and to the point is the best thing to do.

I watched this for my class, and I agree with it. All of the topics he talks about are nice to have in your power point but there is definitely a point when it becomes to much.
I just realized that when the cat doesn't cover it, its telling me to change it. Makes so much sense now. I've been trained by my cat!
I love how you connected PowerPoint popularity and the Mortgage Meltdown in the US. But I'm sure you're aware we have to be careful with confounding variables! For example, even though beer, wine and vodka all have water in their composition, it is not the water that makes you drunk. And also, consumption of ice cream and sunburns are not correlated, even though the frequency of both increases during summer.
Love this!
I know he’s an engineer but, he actually seems like he’d be a good marketing/salesperson
THIS right here is hilarious. I'm not a PowerPoint content creator but I've sat through TONS of meetings where the presenters did some or all of those things that Don said not to do. Great stuff, Don. You nailed it, man!
Watched this for an assignment. Addressed common issues with humor to keep audience engaged. Enjoyed this video!
i come back to watch this every once in a while and i will always love it dearly
OMG! I had a lot of fun with these office and ppt jokes! 😂
this guy is just too damn good
1:22 When it went to 2nd slide, I lost it! In my previous life, I worked with many an administrative & executive asst who'd claw your eyes out rather than make minor adjustment to get everything on 1 slide.
I was watching this for school assignment. This is so funny, if you know about PowerPoint or Presentations, it's a must see!

this guy is ridiculously funny!
...i'm alone in my office right now & am tickled by Don's presentation; awesome!
If Woody Harrelson is ever in a movie and needs a brother character, this is the guy!
Great example of what not to do when creating PowerPoint Presentations. I liked how he included comedy into his presentation.
This is funny but effective. Keeps me learning and entertained at the same time. You don't see alot of powerpoint presentations like this. Thanks for the tips Don!
Wow, this was hilarious. I guess that shows how many ppt decks I’ve made! Well done and great comic timing to boot!
Just saw you tonight in sunnyvale. Didn’t get enough so I came a lookin for more! Thanks for being wonderful you and representing the Silicon Valley!!! 🥰
After AGT, I came here and allover else to find him. Can't have enough. Too brilliant.😂
I found this very entertaining. I love the fact that he added in those of us with ADD! ;) I work for a major airline and we are constantly using Powerpoint in our training workshops. Some of the training materials that is sent to us from corporate include the most boring presentations that you can imagine. This is a must share with my training friends.
He makes so many good points in a humorous way !
Super funny. You had me at the charts, it went into the stratosphere of funniness from there!
Finest PowerPoint Tutorial on the web. I have learnt a lot. Thank you!
I was watching this for a school assignment and very much agree with everything he said! Most people get carried away with power points and he gives some great tips in some funny ways!!
Watched this video for school and I must say it's quite impressive with the little bits he references that you see people do all the time
I saw this video years ago. I referenced it a lot for friends. When I tried to excitedly pull it up, I did not know what search terms to use and I could never find this. Then, the glorious API finally began to work...
Was that a standup comedy act or a true "What not to do with Powerpoint" lecture to a room full of computer users. Either way, true and funny.
Awesome video, don't think I have laughed this hard in quite a while!!!
I haven't laughed this hard in a long time. I loved it! Thank you.
2:59 If you use Arial, then it was actually Google Slides, not PowerPoint (Explanation: Google Docs, Slides, etc. uses Arial as the default font.)
I really enjoyed watching this video. You make very good points about what should be in powerpoints, and it was very entertaining and very clear to understand. I definitely agree that making your powerpoint with to many bullets could be a bad thing.
The dull triangle was the best.
10 years later and people are still watching this this is GOLD hAHAHAHA
Unlike most Powerpoint presentations I paid attention for the whole thing. In the Army, a slam, burn, and slur is being referred to as a Powerpoint Ranger.
I had to watch this video for an assignment and it was great. This guy is funny and he definitely gets his point across on what to do and NOT to do! Enjoyed this video.
i love the font analasis
This is so underrated 😂 I learned so many things in just 9 minutes.
he's so brilliant! we watched this while we were practise our presentations xD
I have never seen this video. I found it to be very funny and informative. I learned a lot of tips for keeping a power point presentation clean and professional. It was very accurate.
Hilarious - got his points across loud and clear. Great post.
Man, this is awesome!!! He's totally hilarious!!
I do have a favorite font it is Book Antiqua. At work I make a few notes for people and also send emails out and I always pick it. One day a coworker noticed and ask why I change it to that font. When I told her it was my favorite font and just shook her head and said "Nerds" under her breath.
He forgot the “do whole presentation in editing mode because I don’t know how to use slide show view”😂
I had to watch it twice because I kept losing my place from laughing so hard.
Got an onuce of Jay Leno in your high pitch voice, love it 🤣
Great sketch! I can relate to it all, especially since my former boss was the H.S.H.I.C. of where I was employed. He was truly the Head Shit Head In Charge, though it was ' all in his head'. Keep up the great stand up work that you do, and thanks for making us all smile. PJM
I need my professor to see this, he could learn a few
Thank you! finally somebody explains all the powerpointfrustrations in one go!
I worked for a national company that could not function unless it had just about 90% of the staff creating Powerpoint presentations. It was maddening. I think they finally reached the height of stupidity when company mandated that everyone use the corporate approved, all black template slide that set a new record in how fast the printer toner would be used up. Real geniuses.
So much respect
For Intro to Computers. My second time watching this video. He's fairly accurate.
One of my instructors recommended viewing this--it's been a long time since I laughed that much at something (partly because I've been in business, and seen most of those things at least once). Luckily, the only one of those rules I break with any sort of regularity is moving text, but only then as a way to bring text onto the screen.
Executive Informational Expert in Operations. I'm the E I E I O. LOL
I once forwarded a link to an earlier version of this video to a number of colleagues. It went viral throughout the company an half the management felt offended by it.
Awesome, original content which is hard to do these days. And I didn't here the efwerd once. You get 10 out of 10. Thank you Don. BTW, I can relate to all of this.
Brilliant! Love this!! 🤣🤣🤣👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
"These are Doug's charts. You can tell by the Courier New font." Yep!
Very good. Literally just talking about PowerPoint at work. This made be laugh - brilliant.
I had a teacher that (un ironically) one-upped all those teachers who have their entire lectures in PowerPoint and read from them in class. She WROTE everything she said on the black board. She talked at the speed at which she could write on the black board. I called her classes "vorschpiel" and I usually left schlosched.
saw it in information and library class! brilliant!
I had a temp job at Goodrich Space Systems. I happened to be walking past an open conference room door with some engineering discussion going on when the projector bulb blew. I was reminded of the look on the dog's face when you suddenly stop the car and let it catch you. The dog is completely lost. These engineers were just as lost without PowerPoint.
I love when they turn acronyms into words, myself.
Comic Sans and Helvetica walk into a bar. LMAO that was great...
I show this in my class ever semester when we start talking about power point. Thank You for making a fun way to correct Powerpoint turrets.
