As someone a bit older than you, I'll share that being debt free changes your attitude towards your job. It all becomes a lot less burdensome knowing you can walk away and be ok. It's a serious power shift.

As an investor, you should've known that by now that nothing beats experience and that's final. Personally I had to reach out to a stock expert for guidance which is how I was able to grow my account close to $35k, withdraw my profit right before the correction and now I'm buying again.

After I paid off my debt..then I made it my goal to pay cash for a house...only took me a couple years to do so 😊 God is sooo good!

"I don't want to work with people..." that's funny, I don't want to be an entrepreneur and I don't want to work with people either. I got a shirt that says, "I used to be a people person, but people ruined it for me." LOL

I’ve never related to anyone more. Everything you mentioned is how I feel. After I became debt free I also realized I didn’t like working 9-5 I’m honestly happier working part-time and keeping my expenses low.

Like staying away from injections and pharmaceuticals, consuming a healthy diet, taking high quality (not grocery store crap) vitamins&minerals , drinking filtered or distilled water (staying away from tap water and restaurant water, using something like a Berkey ,also in the shower 🚿 too. ) Regular detox protocols , getting proper sleep 😴, not overloading on stress or over doing things is especially important.

I became debt free two years ago. I am still adjusting to it. I find it interesting that I can basically buy whatever l want, but choose not to. I have 75 dollars going into a separate checking account every two weeks for food and any miscellaneous purchases. There’s now 500 dollars in that account because l have the cash money to buy things, so l barely use that account. I also started setting aside more money for retirement, and for sinking funds...Just recently, l realized l was hoarding money and not using it to help others. I pulled out a thousand dollars and sent the money to different charities that l had researched that have a good history of helping others. I’m going to try to strike a balance between saving and helping others!

I’m debt free as well and life is so good. You as a young woman I take my hat off to you. At 50 it opened a whole new world for me and at 60 it is so nice to see the money stack up in my accounts. I was downsized in March of this year and I won’t be going back to work. I’ve saved enough that I won’t have to and will be moving to Mexico next year to live off my saving. I like Versace EVERYTHING, sneakers are $1,000 a pair, glasses are about 800.00 for shades, HOWEVER, i now wear Versace look alikes, my friends were AMAZED when they looked at the tags and i paid $30.00 for a silk shirt verses $1100.00 because they know i have high standards. I put that money into a bank. you can still look great for about $100.00 an outfit for a guy minus the shoes/sneakers i buy on half off only.

Carmen - You're probably not cheaper. Just more cautious with what you're buying. If you are in NEED of something, but do not spend, that is cheap. Not buying the newest Iphone, outfit, car, perfume, or eating out is NOT being cheap. You're being frugal. Cut what you don't need, and spend on what you do need. In time, the newest iphone, last styles, newest cars, etc will be very obtainable without hurting your budget. There's a time for everything.

Finally someone admitting they don't want to be an entrepreneur. People seriously don't understand what that means. "I want to do whatever I want but in less time." Truly mean and you would be great friends I feel you on everything you said!

@@gilabsolute1353 I think the very first thing I found useful was to create a budget based each paycheck. Doing a monthly budget was too broad for me so I just budgeted the money I knew I had in front of me. I felt like it made it easier for me to decide where each dollar would go. The other thing I did was to only use cash for problem areas. That help me curb my spending because it was harder to give up cash. So for example are used to spend way too much money on clothes because I love fashion. So instead of just sliding my credit card mindlessly each paycheck I would budget about 100 or $150 thank you and it made me so mindful of what I bought. That gave me also more money to throw at debt. The other really important thing I did was to put away the credit cards. It makes no sense to be trying to get rid of debt but yet I’m still charging things on credit cards. I would also make it fun by selling monthly goals of what I want to accomplish with death and have some kind of reward at the end. Oh and absolutely no vacations. Broke people need to not go on vacation lol

I am debt free ..paid off house in 2014..after 20 years it felt great...but I have found it makes you not care about alot of life that people around you are struggling Hard for..it will change you in many ways..other will start to treat you differently because your in control of your life and they are not.

I’m a high school drop out. I paid cash for my home I have no car. I have no debt. I have large savings. The last 2 weeks or so Every friend or family I’ve talked to has Just bought a new car on loan. I’m completely shocked

If they can actually write a check to pay off their car purchase, they are fine, like someone who buys a two million dollar house, if they can write that purchase off in FULL and they have a net worth of five million dollars they are fine, its PERSPECTIVE to risk!

I am debt free including my house for over 5 years and it’s a wonderful feeling. I will never go back into debt.

Congrats to you. My home has been paid off nearly 5 years. I have zero debt and piling my money into ETF's. I feel smart, because I am. Being debt free makes you see things differently. Keep it up my friend. We are now part of the smart group.

Being totally debt free is incredible. You gain so much freedom and choices.

Nice content! The best way to find that balance between saving and living is by investing, this way you get to have your savings intact and then live comfortably of the revenue coming in from your investments.

We also live on one income..$50,000 a year. We have made it work for a few years so far. We don't have credit cards either. Our goal is once we're done paying off all debt in 3 years my husband can go to part time.

We're debt-free! It's a GREAT feeling to be able to stash your cash instead of sending it to others! No mortgage payments, no car payments and no loans. Debt free squad. I feel the same way about working long hours I’m hoping in the future I can cut my hours in half.

Debt free here, I have a goal to hit a savings of 6 figures in 2 years. I’m getting there by doing no spend challenges , combining incomes , go easy on grocery shopping and keeping expenses low.

I feel the same exact way. I was so broke for so many years that although I am debt free, I’m still “penny pinching” everything. I’m debt free, I have a $3k emergency fund and I have 6 months worth of expenses saved up. But I only have 3 cc’s and I sporadically use them. And I always make sure I’m using 5% or less on my cc’s. Like this I can pay it off right away immediately and earn cash back. I was thinking of using my cc for my daily expenses and at the end of each week pay it off with the money I’m allotting for them just so I can earn cash back and raise my credit score. Or just linking my bills like cellphone, streaming subscription to it and pay it off each month. But I haven’t done that yet as I’m still thinking and researching it. I want to be smart about it.

Working 9 to 5 for the Man, yes a thing of the past once you stop paying everyone else. Great video love it.

My car feels different now that I paid it off 4 months ago. I only have my mortgage left!

Just remember to save those previous monthly car payments as paying yourself, before you know it you can purchase most things CASH. When my car payment was over, and the time came near for my next want -car....i could pay cash, but said hell no, thats fifty thousand dollars that could be used to make me money from stocks etc.............

I paid off my house, credit cards and both cars.......I'd advise homeowners to switch to a 15 year mortgage..........my total monthly bills are cable/gas and lights/cell phone =$450 and I have a full-time job and a part-time job.

Paying down debt contributes to ur self-esteem; it makes one feel good about setting goal & accomplishing it. It helps build self-discipline in many ways. I believe one thing Dave Ramsey & other financial gurus don't address in this space achieving financial wholeness, either while paying off debt or after. The Budgenestia tackle need for financial wholeness. I'm not her spoke person, but I truly she's on to something. I appreciate you acknowledging that no everybody desires to be entrepreneur; that life is not for everybody, I'm personally so sick of folks shaming others who don't have entrepreneurial spirit. This "hustle culture" shaming is crazy on social media.

I hope this debt free lifestyle becomes a bigger movement. I have been debt free for over a year. I remember that feeling when the last payment was made. Honestly it's like any achievement. It feels weird to hit a goal you've been waiting for so long to hit. Then it's like, ok now what? I wouldn't go back, I am happy that we have done what we've done. I too, didn't know the habits would stay with us. It is sooooo easy to save money when you have those habits. I wish more people were willing to try it. My experience is many people will be curious how it was achieved or say well done but they're not willing to take the steps themselves. Then it feels a little weird that you even said anything. Like it feels like bragging and I hate that. I just want other people to feel the freedom that we do. It's not about anyone being better or worse. I need to know how to sell it so it sounds quick and easy. It took us 4 years.

I’m 100% debt free including my mortgage and like you said now what? Now I’m saving money for a new roof. I’m a nurse and after Covid I went down to a 2 day work week. I’m done working with the sick public.

I love videos like this! I am currently on a debt free journey right now. I have done the $5 challenge $10 challenge etc. I couldn’t believe when the challenge was over and I counted up all the money I saved. I was able to save $12,600 in 1 year. I almost lost it. 😂😊 I threw every dime of it into my debt! It felt amazing to see those balances go down. Hopefully I will be out of debt by the end of 2022🤞🏾

I respect the honesty. Just had a 2 hour debate with my Mom on why I can't be an entrepreneur. I don't have enthusiasm to be self made at this point in my life.

Your right girl, I started off with the snowball method but then I said screw this and went straight to my highest debt and knocked it out and everything is slowly but surely coming together.

I feel good when I pay off some debt. Plus, I stop buying things that I don't need anymore🙌🏾

Been debt free since 2008. Getting off that hamster wheel is the biggest relief I’ve ever gifted myself. I go to work feeling GREAT because I’m not going because I have to, I’m going because I finally see my bank account growing exponentially!

From personal experience I would suggest making payments on the loans if u can.... in forbearance they continue to have interest growing and the more you pay on it now and when u can the lower your bill and will be better when you come out of forbearance and less interest. Don't wait so long to pay the whole thing and then interest made it higher

I don’t know how you showed up on my recommended videos but I’m happy you did. I’ve been Dave-ish for the last last year and a half. My credit card was 17k and now it’s almost under 6k. I am going to take care of my responsibilities but I will never take all my money and pay a bill. There is a professional mind in having some money saved. Pay your tithes, giving an offering, pay yourself and then pay your bills. Do that you will never be broke.

I Do Agree tithes and offerings are very Important to me. And Then All My Bills are paid full never broke and I am just 6months from being Debt Free. And Have Money In Savings.

I been debt free since I was 36. I just turn 60 and still debt free. Been paying cash since I been debt free. Torn up my credit cards and never seek out a loan. If I don't have the cash I don't get it. When I eye something I need. I save up for it and than I get it. I have everything I need and money just piles up, because I don't have anyone holding their hands out for their share of the pie. It's all my and can do what ever I want with it. Its so peaceful and zero stress. Living comfortably and very happy. You get richer, when you have no one else to owe money to.

I became debt free this year. Started savings last year and it feels good. Just FYI -instead of just canceling your credit cards (and lowering your credit score), if you have a score of 700+, you can call your card's customer service and request a lower APR/interest rate at least once a year. You can also product change your credit card into something you will use/ no annual fee. Unless the card is a fee-harvesting card, I say keep it until it no longer affects your credit score.

I know exactly how you feel... After I paid my last debt, and no longer owed anyone ANY money, the feeling was 'weird'. It's very strange to not have any payments of any kind. I did as you did - I started paying myself and maintained the same lifestyle I adapted to while paying debt. But, the important thing is to be debt free, and you accomplished that... You deserve Congratulations! I followed Dave's plan, but I agree with you that it's now MY turn to take advantage of American Express. I pay my bill 100% every month and do use those 'free' points. I'll NEVER be in debt again, but I'm also going to use all of the 'opportunities' being debt free offers. Anyone can do it with focus, determination, and commitment... Outstanding Job!

Congratulations‼️ This video is on POINT. You hit it out da park. My wife and I are debt free ($75K in 28 months). We were so happy, then the let down. The credit score dropped from over 800 back into 700's, bruh. I do own a motorcycle, lol, but it was paid off before the journey began. But the mere fact that you mentioned it, I love your freedom. Even our grown sons have double digit savings, krazy. It is funny, spending mindset got cleansed. Working for money - you right ✅...I simply enjoy what I do. Diaspora needs this freedom. Bless you.

Love this! Trying to get there with you, girl! Everything is paid off except for a gigantic student loan. Didn’t follow Dave Ramsey’s advice on this part. With a $200,000 student loan debt, I was not gonna dive in until I had at least $10,000 in my emergency savings. I just hit my goal, and I am excited to move forward to the next stage of my debt-free journey,. I will be following your channel the whole time!

Good for you gurl! Feels great doesn't it? I remember when I first graduated from college at 26 with debt free with my parents help and I owe them. I bought a $18k brand new car 6 months into my first job. Felt great for the first few days then I freaked out. Interest was 6% back in the 90s so I was determined to pay off the car. I did it under 18 months with the 4 year loan. I never looked back since. Your next move is to set up 6-12 months of emergency funds so no matter what happens you will be ok. If your employer has a 401k plan with matching contributions, do it if you can as well. Its free money from them to help you get started in your future self. One downside for me is I started my career later than most at 27 so I'm making up for it. Now in my early 50s I have 7 figure retirement nest egg and i`m in a mad dash for the finish line. I started with zero. You are still young so you have time on your side. Go watch moneyguy on YT you will learn a few things from them. Good luck! 👍

I've found that I'm more cautious when I buy expensive things. I've caught myself making a disgusted face when asked if I wanted to finance a certain purchase. No thank you, I am going to pay upfront with cash cause I'm done paying interest!!

I love this video. I also enjoy the fact that one can increase spending by just a little bit after being all debt free. The very first priority is to pay off all debt first.

Just wanted to drop a comment and say congratulations on becoming debt free. I just became debt free myself and I know the feeling of financial freedom. People treat you different, with a little bit more respect when they see that you are fiscally responsible and have quite a few resources. Just one note, could you let people know that you don't have to get rid of your high interest rate credit cards they can just renegotiate their rate to a lower one. Subscribed as soon as you said debt free and entrepreneurship isn’t for you. I realized my level of networking does not match what is required of entrepreneurship. After I became debt free, I felt like I ‘lost my fire’ and started indulging in luxury a LOT! I look at home much I’ve spent and think of how good it would have looked in my account. My goal is to do better!

Thank you for this video. My husband and I got very serious about becoming debt free two years ago...literally riiiiiiiight before the pandemic hit. With diligence and dedication, and yes DR's Baby Steps, we paid off and almost 6-figures worth of consumer debt. It's been almost a year since we've been debt free and you are so right about not turning around and spending more money after becoming debt free. We have kept the same cash envelope budget we had when we were paying off the debt and the direct result has been have a very high savings rate and also the ability to invest. Nothing we can buy is worth the feeling of being debt free and more in control of where our hard earned money is going! Bravo to you!

Your wisdom is gold. I love my Discover card, too. I almost maxed it out in 2021. Because of my employment in healthcare, I decided to work less hours to protect me from the thing that is going around. On the flip side, I charged my Discover for gas and food. Lack of savings awareness was my downfall. Now I am on my personal journey to knock out my credit card debt. In 2020, I met a woman who was on that work all day everyday rampage then criticized me if I was not on that page with her. I simplified my living standards prior to meeting her, yet she looked down upon my life, comparing me to someone who doesn’t want to get anywhere in life. She completely missed the point…my point. Been binge watching your videos and love how much your content resonates with me. Stay strong. Stay stunning. Stay smart!

Congratulations! I'm very close to being debt-free for the first time in a long time. Feels great. And for those who have credit cards with high interest rates, instead of closing the account once you've paid it off, call the company and ask them to lower your interest rate. They're way more likely to do it once you've demonstrated a great payment history.

Can I just say, honestly. I love you. You are a inspiration!!!

First time here and loving it. I am debt fre besides my student loans 😅. But I know I can tackle that in no time. I don’t want to own a home so I’m good in that part. I also love how you address being an entrepreneur. I thought I wanted that too when I tried I made money but it made me realize I’m just not pressed to hustle. All I want to do with my life is travel and that’s it. Nothing more and I’m well in my way to making that my actual life. I also hate customer service jobs, I was a manger at a retail store for two years, stressed me tf out!!

KZread finally did something right by suggesting your video to me lol I felt every word you said and I completely agree! Becoming debt free truly gives you more freedom and the feeling takes a bit to settle in. It wasn't until I got about a month's worth of income that I felt it. I legit felt like I got a huge raise! Hey I just came across this video. Back in 2018 I paid off 10,000.00 of credit card debt. God is Good!! Cut my hours at work to to part-time. Only credit card I use now is my debit card. I’m trying to stay away from using credit cards. Love your video so I subscribed. 🙏🏾

You are doing such a good thing, and you have a great mindset. I love your video, keep up the good work.

one thing is the fear to spend any money at all. you save and save to crawl out of debt. finally pay it all off.but you're still afraid to spend. or,the other extreme. you get out of debt and revert back to the same habits that caused debt to begin with

I'm am so happy that you are crushing it. Sounds like you need new goals. Think of some ways to have your money work for you. Investing so you are getting paid dividends etc. Also paying off your mortgage is really going to liberate you. Then you could technically work any job to cover your basic needs.

Congratulations 🎉👏. I'm 100% debt free including my mortgage then I brought a rental property so I'm back in debt 😂. After first, it's not as exciting as I thought I feel man I'm starting zero with building wealth journey. Now looking back I'm thankful I got my sh*t together few years ago by paying off debt, building wealth, living more miminist lifestyle, workout daily and lost 25 pounds and keeping it off. I think with everything it's hard at first then everything become a habit and easier to maintain.
