The energy of this interview was interesting and kind of kept me unsure of where it would go or even how it WAS going for a few beats. Lol. I like when Stephen Colbert has guests that challenge his usual rhythm/veer in directions he doesn't see coming so can't fully maintain the conductor role lol. This was funny and dry and Liev was so aloof but intentionally so in a way that made it funny still. Stephen seemed amused.

Liev Schreiber: "Well, I didn't wanna say 'pretentious,' I was going to say 'the French genes.'" Stephen Colbert: "Yeah, yeah...'pretentious,' 'French,' it's a fine line." What great timing he has. One of the requisites of stage acting is being able to allow for the minor changes which will happen from one performance to the next. An actor makes a mistake and you have to not react, so you put in a bit of business to get over it. Or someone pauses to long or steps on a line, or gets distracted by something off stage. I haven't seen "Ray Donovan" by in everything I have seen him in he has great presence, timing and he doesn't try to upstage the other actors. A true pro.

Your purpose is to entertain with your wonderful talent while staying sane, humble, and humane.
For those of us who have and do live in Boston and know the "Southie" culture know how spot on the main character's are on Ray Donovan. Liev is PERFECT as Ray Ray. Great actor.
he talked more in that one scene than the first few seasons of ray donovan, john wick and ray donovan is what every man wants to be.
wow - that was an awesome interview, enjoyed every bit
I didn't realize how much he narrates, like almost every worthwhile documentary in recent years lol it's actually quite impressive! 👍😂 (Google the list, if you want to know.)
I could watch Liev watching paint dry and be perfectly content. Binge watching Ray after missing it the 1st go round, (and in prep for the movie) I have fallen for not only Ray the character, but Liev, the real person. If my spouse only knew how many times I have paused an episode just to admire him.. He epitomizes the term 'tall, dark and handsome.' His true acting talent and intellect has me even more taken with him. I cannot think of one thing that I do not like about this man. He deserves every bit of his wealth and fame-and then some! I secretly call him my Little Wolverine - ha! Love you Liev!

Ray Donovan and Avi the former Mossad agent. What a team!
Love Ray Donovan show.
I did not expect Liev Schreiber to be so hysterically funny. Stephen brings out the best in people like that. As far as I'm aware, the Irish Colberts (and therefore Stephen's family) are descended from French Huguenots who fled to Ireland to escape persecution around the 1600s. The 't' is pronounced here!
Great interview.
I was first exposed to Liev Schreiber with the movie Phantoms. Seriously, I knew he was going to be one of those great actors known for being a great actor without ever actually having to be a lead actor. Just damn great.
