Im in IT and wish to work for this company. love their machines so much. Liebherr marketing has really done so much to convince customers.

The level of professionalism of Libherr is amazing. I wish most of the IT-Companies I worked for would have these procedures and mindsets.

My old man is a television repairman, he's got this ultimate set of tools.

SPARTO Can you imagine using this thing more than once? Surely this kind of kit is hired for the job and shipped back to the manufacturer to gather dust until the next unlikely ring gear change! Just cool that it exists I suppose. Gimb

@@mzee5533 Well, the HQ for the entire Liebherr group is in Switzerland, but Liebherr was founded in Germany and most of their manufacturing facilities are in Germany, but they have subsidiaries all over the world.

Do they include a screw driver and Cresent wrench when ya buy the machine, thats all you really need. ah, maybe throw in a Harbor-Frieght socket set.

in industry thats unheard of. generally. those kind of devices come with a certain level of trust as well as with a service contract for getting the machine working within a day. Its a matter of mentality; they dont sell cranes they sell the ability to move stuff.

Not planned obsolescence, you have a component service life. Today the manufacturers will generally have a good idea of the approximate service life of a component before a serious failure. With a good preventative maintenance program it's cheaper to swap out those major components for new or rebuilt replacements. That also prevents un planned machine down time and waiting for parts. A swing motor or the main ring gear wouldn't be replaced after so many hrs since there's too many variables that would affect there life span. Noise and vibration while swinging the machine would still give a good indication replacements will soon be needed well before any major failures.

i think they go where the servicing/repairs are needed along with the engineers must be a very expensive operation flying all that stuff around all the time and engineers earning mega bucks

When a machine gets old it pay,s fore it self looks like that equipment helps

i am no expert on these machines, but that hydraulic cylinder of the track press looks like it could easily excert enough force to push any kind of pin. i could be very wrong ofc

Always seems too clean and sterile when the Germans do it, maybe its because their Mechanics dress in slacks and their management types seem to wear grey labcoats. Will this gear work on the ground with beaten up 10-40,000hr open cut equipment and would it be cost effective?

I've been around ring gear changes on P&H 2600 shovels. Standard practice is to build a surveyed level and compacted pad of fine material first. Then walk the shovel up on it. Without that you'd have a more than tough time separating and re-installing the undercarriage.

LOL i cant see anyone but their own service techs using this equipment. No ones using this stuff in the field.
