It works quite well. Not only it fits his style, but also there's something about it that makes it more enjoyable than just boring screen capture

when I was a child I used to love pinball. One day, however, my mother died in a tragic pinball accident and I have been scared of pinballs ever since. This video helped me find my love of pinball once again. Thank you for the great video peter

Thanks for spreading awareness about the Ritz Pinball Machine. Great nostalgia with that one. Unfortunately, Mr. Ritzenmeister designed the machine with the height of adults in mind, so many children lost their eyes to the Snacker Shellacker. I had a neighbor who lost both and then cracked one of his glass eyes before his parents finally gave up the machine to my family. I gained 10 lbs that summer.

I like that the main """complaint""" (obviously a joke) for metroid pinball was the fact that the screens don't line up even though they do if you are playing on actual hardware since there is actual gap there

I love the humor and the editing. I don’t think I really care what the video is about, I’m here for it, and I will be in the future.

I'm loving this new series, especially because we get more Peter with how long these videos are.

my favorite thing is reading wholesome comment sections and seeing genuine appreciation from content creators, specially patter! feels like he shows genuine care for all of the few top picked comments ( while rest are still supportive in their own way ) and also gets to feel proud of his work knowing its not all going to waste, for me; i just giggle at how much of a dingus he is while still being very sweet to listen to before sleep

my dad looked at patter putting the images on the tier list and asked "how does he make those sophisticated effects? it looks like hes actually putting those images on there"

Bit of an unusual choice on my part, but I found that watching footage of the gameboy games on a larger, well-lit screen made my eyes hurt. Best alternative was to smooth it out in premiere.

I strongly agree with your mindset on game mechanics. A bad diffficult game lets you keep playing. A good difficult game makes you keep playing. Metal Gear Rising, Dark Souls, and Megaman Zero 2 are some of my all-time favourite "hard" games for the same reasons.

Touhou is my favourite pokémon region. The Pikachu only area. Awesome video, great transitions, and all the sounds and music from my childhood. Although I never played most of these pinball games (other than space cadet on XP) but still nostalgia overload.

There's a pub in Dublin called Fibbers that has a Metallica Pinball machine, I've seen them many times across the internet and I had only recently gotten a chance to play it and I loved it to bits!

The production quality for these videos are insane.

(45:00) The scores should save on Kirby's Pinball Land. It has a save battery. Yours must have been dead. If you hit select while paused during gameplay you could even save your spot, turn off the Gameboy and pick it right back up later. Like you I also had it as one of my only games as a child. I love it.

@@tonymonteiro1081 no, it was an app from over 10 years ago called pin ball where it was a black background, 4 lines that made up 6 areas to drop large white circles in to, you couldn't win or Lose

Finally someone talking about the hard hitting issues

Personally, I've always been a big fan of Sonic Spinball. The fact that everything gives you points, but you get a point bonus for completing levels quickly, combined with the fact that the game shows you the high score table every time you die, made me feel like the game was much closer to an old arcade pinball game, where there might be an "end goal", but getting the high score is the main thing you're working towards. Since it's a hard game, you'll be dying a lot, so once I figured out what to do in each level, they became more and more fun the more I had to replay them. Plus, I like the fact that you can influence Sonic's movement while he's in midair. I haven't beaten it yet, but I have gotten pretty close, and it makes me feel sad when people seemingly don't see what I see in the game.

I once had a wild Peter Knetter encounter, I was on a car ride, then I saw a truck with the passenger window open and a fellow that looked a lot like Mr. Knetter was poking his head out the window and he looked at me and waved at me. It was surreal

So when the ball goes straight down. You are supposed to nudge the physical cabinet to move the ball. The skill is budging it hard enough to move the ball, but not hard enough to TILT the machine

I like pinball spin-offs, especially Pokemon Pinball and I kinda tried Sonic Spinball, but I am surprised every time someone isn't a fan of Mario Pinball Land, where I was like a young high schooler when it was released and playing it in an emulator. The graphics look great especially it looked 3D, and I'm a sucker for whatever variation they do for Mario characters. I can say it is a guilty pleasure of mine, and I think my current save data is almost 100%, hehe. I do agree some mechanics are annoying but for someone that is kinda average in games (especially in my favorite genre platformers, especially in Sonic), I'm surprised Peter can't control the flippers well there.

Spin off pinball games are something special it’s always interesting to see how they turn a series into pinball but some are perfect for it like kirby and Metroid and those are the main ones I played as a kid

my main issue with metroid pinball is that samus is under fire

Peter I am actually very upset that you didn't give Peach Ball a chance. This game is a huge part of my childhood and means a lot to me and my family. Peach Ball not only inspired me to be a good person but also helped me discover my passion for being a pin ball machine. Without that game I wouldn't be where I am now, a popular pin ball game at Dave & Busters. For all the hard work, time, and investment you put in this video I have to say it's kind of a let down because of one single game you did not try. Very disappointed.

26:09 You know, the Sonic racing games really need to also say "Sonic, the HERO of JUSTICE" but even more blatantly since people can't still understand why would Sonic (a good guy, hero, etc. in his world) drive a car in a car race as if the existence of "playing fair" is very alien to them all of a sudden.

I love Pokémon Pinball. The rumble pack built into the cartridge was awesome! I still have it and still play it every now and then.

17:11 My overly serious opinion on this issue is that, when I play a pinball game, digital or real, I judge it as a pinball game, not a videogame. So even if a digital pinball game doesn't have mechanics that are only possible in a videogame, if it's still a good pinball game with good playfield design, objectives, presentation and physics, then I'll probably like it. Of course real is always preferable but sometimes digital pinball allows for some great pins to be made that wouldn't otherwise exist due to how hard and expensive it is to manufacture real machines. Digital, of course, is also more accessible.

Something funny about Peter being unable to tolerate the r/s/e Pokedex scrolling noise, meanwhile I'm like 'wow, just as good as I remember!'

I remember getting Prime Pinball as a kid because my parents mixed it up with Hunters and being slightly annoyed that I got it instead of the other. But I ended up having a huge blast with it and absolutely loving the way Metroid fits Pinball so freaking well also I did eventually got Hunters, but I ended up enjoying Prime Pinball a bit more. So yeah, one of the best mistakes purchase my parents did if you ask me! Also glad to see it on S tier pretty well deserved.

I use to love pinballs games. So far the last few years they haven't been as interesting as they once were

Super Robot Pinball is awesome man! For a little background, it's a spinoff game in the long running Super Robot Wars series and all those are mechs from various manga & anime. There's also an English fan translation for the game if you need that which for me I didn't as I'm familiar with most all of the franchises in there.

I like how he says "mama's pee pee lol" and then just goes silent for a few seconds.

Kirby Pinball Land is my favorite game plus it was my 1st Kirby game I ever before playing Kirby 64 witch makes it the 2nd game I played

Pokemon pinball came in a special cartridge that vibrated whenever youde hit the ball or any other obstacles, and when you got the PIIIIKAAAA it would vibrate like crazy

I like spin ball. It's like the first thing that got me into pinball. I much prefer playing as Sonic during a pinball game since he gives you more control over your skill than just some other ball doing whatever it wants.

I actually know of something that does exist, it is a pinball based thing but, it's not based on any franchises, in fact, this pinball thing is a virtual reality film that was put alongside other films on an arcade machine known as Typhoon. The pinball virtual reality film in question was called Astro Pinball. Where, they put the rider into the perspective of a tiny pinball and let the rider or riders see what it's like to be inside a giant pinball machine.

I used to play a Ben 10 pinball game online called canonbolt pinball and it was probably the first time I played pinball as a kid. I wonder if it’s still up but judging by the fact it came out during the original shows run I doubt it

That was a pretty good "tie-in" game but Ben 10 being a TV series means it isn't a spin-off hehe.

There was this educational line of video games on PC, that taught you about physics and stuff like that, and in one of them you built your own Pinball machine, except in a prehistoric setting for some reason. Wish i could remember what it was called, all tho i had a localized version, so chances are the name was different in english anyway.
