Exactly. They don't get the same platform and media bias that the Dems and Reps do. If they were able to debate on the big debate like the Dem and Rep candidates, I believe they'd pull a lot more votes. I think the Dem and Rep party want total control. I don't think neither wants to compete with a 3rd group. But people are getting tired of them so things might change soon and more people might just vote Libertarian this year.

We have a fantastic candidate. Gary didn't stand out much in terms of world view. There's a way to word a position to stand out from the rest, and Jorgansens world view is changing the landscape. You can be socially liberal and fiscally conservative but if you don't offer a different solution, you truly are a 2 in 1 package and that's not how the libertarian platform is supposed to operate.

"In case you didn't realize . . . . " Now, who's fault would that have been? :P
Jo Jorgensen 2020!
Gary Johnson got 1% in 2012, then received 3.3% in 2016 (the highest electoral vote in LP's history). Now with even a better candidate standing (that's no disrespect to Johnson), Jo Jorgensen I hope will get even greater.
So now they give him media coverage.
I voted for Gov. Gary Johnson and I'm PROUD I DID!!!! I knew he wouldn't win but at least I felt good about voting.
I voted Gary Johnson! and will in 2016 too.
People who wrote "Ron Paul" literally wasted their vote. They should have written "Ronald Earnest Paul" for him to actually get the vote.
Gary Johnson talking about the growing police state all the way in 2012. Should have listened to him then.
Assuming people are responsible is quite a stretch
I voted for Gary Johnson.. Liberation's will lead the way for our future..
Same with state governments, too.
Jorgensen 2020!
He explained libertarianism so well
I'm a 1 percenter
she said devided country. lol come 2020 and take a look.
I voted Gary Johnson and will again 2016 if he runs. I'm hoping that over the next 4 years we will be able to get much more exposure for the Libertarian party; so that more people will realize they actually do have a choice when it comes to the election. And for those that did know about him, but didn't vote or voted for O or R to realize their vote really will count if they vote Libertarian.
I was the one percent
If I wasn't so scared Romney would've won, I would have voted Johnson or Stein.
Millions of voters are so fixated on voting either Democrat or Republican that third parties are invisible. Some believe that not voting Democrat or Republican is "wasting your vote". The U.S operates on a two-party system, which favors both Democrats and Republicans.
I hope so, too. But it is unlikely for Libertarians to win some seats in Congress.
He has good ideas. I would've voted for him if I was an American. Freedom and personal responsibility while staying out of people's private lives.
This guy was so much better than both Obama and Romney. If we didn't have this idiotic two-party system, somebody as smart as him might win someday.
it would be easier to win seats in congress or state governors than the presidency
Nothing shoulda stopped you from voting for Gary. I did alot of my research before the election and Gary is a smart man. 2016 Gary Johnson. Always vote for what you believe dont vote for what you think is the lesser of 2 evils cause you believe your vote counts. Remember you can win the popular vote but lose the election... that alone proves your vote doesnt count.
Maybe if you didn’t silence him maybe he would get more votes
For those who voted for democrate or republican, enjoy what you voted for and don't complain about the next four years you voted for it.
what a great dude
My brother and sister told my mother and I we were wasting our time voting for Gary Johnson, they said its a wasted vote. Ehhhhhhh were surrounded by closed minded drones ( and killer drones) ohhhhhh BAM
I voted Johnson and will next time.
What about Jill Stein and the Green Party?
Life hack: vote Libertarian and no one gets to blame you for the inevitable mess a Democrat or Republican will create. All they’ll do is assume and blame you for voting for the other guy, even when you didn’t actually lololol
There’s no hope for libertarians in Ca. I need to move out.
I wish I had voted for Gary Johnson in 2012 instead of Romney.
The Christian Right is primarily in the Republican Party. The Constitution Party is the third party version of the Republican Party. Go to the Constitution Party website and look up it's preamble. Any member of the Christian Right who do not like the current Republican Party will probably support the Constitution Party.
I proudly voted for Gary Johnson and will proudly do so again if he runs in 2016.
why no traction ? media and money (special interests).
Exactly. But we do have a Libertarian in a state legislature: Rep Daniel P. Gordon. He resides in Rhode Island. He tried to go again for reelection in 2012, but he wasn't on the ballot. So he became a write-in candidate and he lost.
I stood my ground and voted for Gary.
Libertarians will be competing with other state political parties such as the Republican Party, Democratic Party, as well as third parties such as the Green Party, Constitution Party, and other parties for Governor and State Legislatures. As for Congress, many Libertarians ran for Congress in 2012, but they did NOT WIN a seat.
Wall? is the bigging of the end of two-party system in US, but 1% of Libertarian vote is not bad because it would have higher than 5% I be happy with that.
We fucked up with Ron Paul
Vote for Jo jorgensen this year 2020! The republicrats keeps third parties out of the news media and debates to keep the duoply going. #letherspeak #endtheduoply

libertarians should run candidates for congress

As for prostitution, it is legal in certain parts of Nevada. It is also regulated, too. Nevada law requires that registered brothel prostitutes be tested weekly for Gonorrhea and Chlamydia, and monthly for HIV and Syphilis. Condoms are mandatory also.
The U.S is predominately Christian and Christianity opposes prostitution. Both prostitutes and clients are criminalized and are seen as immoral. So, they are considered criminals. There are more reasons AGAINST prostitution, but I can't explain it all with a 500 character limit...
Gary Johnson is the 1% ^_^
As far as I know no state requires the full legal name of the write-in. They leave a reasonable room for misspellings and aliases. As long as whoever is counting the ballots can tell who you voted for, your vote counts. But some states require that write-in candidates have to register and become "official write-ins" for their votes to count, and as far as I know Ron Paul only did this in Maine.
They got 1% because they didn’t cheat

Yes, my good Libertarian peer.
hope they will win some seats in congress in a near future
where have you been? please tell me you arent just hearing about him? he spoke at CSU and CU. Gov Johnson is actually doing another campus tour. he is going to CU again in April. i think the 9th in the mathematics building. LIVEFREE
In this interview, at 4:46 Gary Johnson said "Immigration is a good thing." Many Libertarians support open borders.
@MMGJ10

Open borders make more sense when you don't have a welfare state, but I still believe in borders and legal immigration, and yes immigration is good.
Even the voters who acknowledges third parties, some will not vote for that party because of their platforms. For example, I am not going to vote for the Constitution Party. I am not part of the Christian Right. Because of their positions on social positions, I will not support them. Some voters are not going to vote Libertarian either. Ending the War on Drugs and legalizing prostitution are too extreme for some voters. If you don't like the platform, why vote for that party?
I voted for him, what stopped you?

In 2016 he did better and got about 3 percent. Its a step up but Libertarians need to get out of the single digits to be taken seriously. Last 3rd party candidate who did that was Ross Perot in 1992.
