Libertango (A. Piazolla, arr. Villadangos)

Музыка

This is one of my favourite pieces, and I love just about everything about it. It is dramatic, it is driving, passionate... I hope my rendition is able to convey this to you too.

Libertango für Gitarre solo - Wow, das muss man erst einmal hinkriegen. Mit viel Leidenschaft gespielt, den Rhythmus und 'Drive' gut durchgehalten...wunderbar👌

Great job, as always! I was wondering if you would have any recommandation on a guitar to start learning R.Dyen's songs? I currently just own an acoustic guitar (ovation brand).

Thank you! I'm glad you like my recording 😊 Your question is a tricky one. There are so many factors to consider. For example it depends on how much experience you have with the guitar, with specific techniques, with reading sheet music etc., and it also depends on what you want to achieve. Do you want some suggestions for specific pieces of Roland Dyens with regards to difficulty, or do you want suggestions for which techniques to tackle first? Specific pieces: R. Dyens composed "Les 100 de Roland Dyens". These are 101 pieces with medium difficulty. Alba Nera (my recording kzread.info/dash/bejne/gKuGxKiFdtm7ocY.html) is one of these. Maybe this would be a good starting point? Technique: Roland Dyens heavily focused on varying expression. One tool that he used all the time was rest stroke. If this is a technique you're not comfortable with yet, then maybe this would be a good starting point. However, everything is much harder on an acoustic guitar, compared to a classical guitar. The fretboard of a classical guitar is broader, which helps precision, the strings have way (!) less tension (its roughly 40 kg vs. 80 kg), which helps your fingers stay nimble and not cramp up, and the strings are not nearly as hard on your nails. If possible, I would suggest getting a classical guitar. Cheers

@@Michael-Guitar Thanks a lot for your very complete answer, didn't expect such a post, that's a massive help for me! Thanks again. Actually I was first wondering if I have to get a classical guitar to start learning Dyens' songs. I thought an acoustic guitar could get the job done to start learning Dyens, but that could be tricky for the reasons you gave me... and in addition to it, my guitar has pretty thick strings, which could be not genuinely appropriate for a classical approach. I guess I will give a try with my current acoustic guitar, but it sounds like I'm gonna move soon or later to a classical guitar. Thanks again for your help!
