Elvis didn’t do well the first time In Vegas. They were not ready for him. Liberace helped him out. That was in 56 or 57. When Elvis went back in 69 he blew the roof off. Elvis will always be the greatest!

I too thank you so much for the footage. Notice how the people were waiting to get in. No pushing, no trying to get ahead of the line. These are people my mom and dad spoke about. They were truly stars.

+Chloe wilson You're very kind! I was born in 1960, so I got to see the tail end of the golden age... my grandfather was actor/director Abner Biberman- we produced the 1996 Biographies of Jerry Lewis and my "auntie" Janet Leigh, as well as the 1999 A&E Biography of the Rat Pack... :)

Elvis looked so insecure and uncomfortable. Little did they know they had a superstar right in front of them . Someone that would become far greater than Liberace and would be remembered for many years after his death and even become more famous after his death. Elvis is the greatest entertainer that ever lived.

I think I might have been born in the wrong era. My mother used to call me an old soul,..... I was never interested in my generational up bringing. The music was great but,.... Not much more for me personally I could relate too. I was born in 75 so anything after the early 90`s I lost interest in with music, fashion, even people's mannerisms, just seems everything went down hill culture wise. My son's generation is a mess. Simpler time's were indeed the very best of time's. I can only hope what I've taught them they will remember in later year's. Thank for the video's. Brings back good memories of timesless moments spent with my parents of recounted stories of such. Love from Canada 🇨🇦

Very nice footage! Thank you for sharing, still the "class era" of performers, in lieu the "trash era", that has permeated for so many years now. You are mightily blessed to come into possesion of these film clips, and thank you for allowing others to enjoy these treasured momentos of yours!

Thanks as always Luke. i absolutely love watching this footage. I was born in the wrong era. And look at the crowd patiently waiting to get in and seated. Those were the days my friend I wish they'd never ended.

+Tarn Sand I feel the same way...! The Western World had a more graceful pace and style in the postwar era, IMHO... and the CARS were so much prettier! :)

Ever wonder why the only photos of Elvis and Liberace are from their first meeting in the late 1950s. Especially since both entertainers headlined Vegas in the 1970s.

This is some really great footage you have. I'm working on a documentary about the Riviera implosion and how it's affected Las Vegas and the historical community, could I possibly use this clip in the opening section?
