In March 2024, we welcomed visitors to Liapootah Power Station. Our attendees got a behind-the-scenes look into how we generate renewable energy, plus enjoyed some interactive games, and a sausage sizzle of course!
Liapootah power station sits at the top of the 'lower Derwent', where the Derwent Scheme turns to a 'run of river' flow. The water that flows through Liapootah will continue on towards several other power stations downstream, to generate more electricity from the same water.
