Xu has improved so much. But Liang's play is beautiful. His backhand was always awesome, his forehand is quite something too now.

What I like: LJK swap and squad backhand to forehand. Change of pace. Change of serve. Adaptable power. Much improved from before only having a fantastic backhand. Much more variety now. That ripping backhand. Still a thing of beauty.

Match 5 was supposed to be between Ma Long and Wang Chuqin but fortunately or unfortunately, Ma Long's team won 3-1 in Match 4. So Match 5 never happened ... fortunately for Ma Long and unfortunately for Wang Chuqin's team. They should have sent in Wang Chuqin earlier.

@@tolian62i they used their strongest players, Wang Chuqin and Liang Jingkun, in the first doubles match and used their weakest player, Zhou Qihao, in two singles, match 2 and 4. That was a stupid decision. You should always use your weakest players in doubles and strongest players in singles.

Yes, it was very strange. I think a big bet was made on the doubles game and the subsequent 2 victories of Liang ah Wang. But it was not necessary to bet everything on a pair - Liang and Wang would most likely have won 3 games out of 4 (Liang against Ma is unlikely)@@Independent_Man3

Ma Long's team won 3-1 in Match 4. Ma Long never got to face Wang Chuqin in Match 5. Had Zhou Qihao not lost in Match 4, then Wang Chuqin's team could have won.

​@@sherlockholmes3443 usually, each player on the team plays two matches. Zhou Qihao played match 2 and 4. Liang Jingkun played match 1 and 3. Wang Chuqin played match 1 and 5 (although 5 never happened). Match 1 was a doubles match. They should have swapped Zhou Qihao and Wang Chuqin, i.e., Wang Chuqin should have played match 2 and 4 instead.
