You know how to swing an axe! It would be good idea, to bring your favorite axes on the next one. Even though I don't own either this or the Lamaca, from wht I've seen , the "Farmer" is probably a bit better performer than that one. Keep 'm sharp and see you on the next one!

How’s the challenge going for you? I’d like to try that head on a different handle. I’ve never seen one of his in person.

I actually finished it with about a half hour to spare at the end of the month. It was definitely a challenge lol. If you want a closer look I did a review on a few of his axes and I go more indepth with everything

That’s a pretty nice axe! Looks like it has a good profile. Cuts deep, but doesn’t stick.

It takes a little extra power to get going but once you get it down it's hard to beat thats for sure

That was my biggest issue with hoffman axes. A friend of mine has a few hoffman axes and a small belt hatchet from him aswell, which i got to borrow or use from time to time. I absolutely love his style of axes. My favorite is the 3lb camp axe on a 28" or 30" handle. But the one thing that stuck out to me was how sticky they were. I was chopping alot of wood for the cordwood challenge and got to try out some Hoffman axes. They all felt pretty sticky in the wood. I was chopping a mixture of Fir, Pine, Cedar, and Madrone/Arbutus. And the one type that didn't stick as much, was the madrone. Everything else was pretty sticky and the chips just didn't want to pop as easily. I gotta give him credit though. They look and feel so awesome and the handles were pretty much perfect and an absolute joy to look at. This was also 3 years ago, give or take. I brought up the geometry issue i was having on facebook, and suggested trying something with a little more cheek in them, and a higher center line perhaps? Liam was very cool about it and just seemed pretty open. So i have been really curious to see what his newer axes are like. Ive been watching some of his newer videos and he's absolutely killing it!
