See, what ONE championship should be doing is getting in here, and getting a bit of behind the scenes, talking to the fighters and building some hype for their next fight. Even Yokkao should do it. Obviously I'm going to compare this to UFC, and even though I'm not a massive fan, if I watch an embedded episode, and I see what the fighters are doing to prepare for said fight, then I'm a little more invested, I'm more likely to watch it, I'm excited to see the fruits of their labors. Also, sometimes it's more fun to watch the behind the scenes than it is to watch the actual fight. Come on guys, for the love of all things combat sports, give us some more behind the scenes, and let us get to know the fighters a little bit better, so we're more invested in their fights and we can hype it up!

ONE is doing that. It stopped mainly during the last 2 years because of the pandemic. They do make videos of the fighters and camps.

Watching two high level guys spar with that much control is a beautiful thing. I learn more from this than from watching full contact fights

The kick at 3:28, and Liam saying "that would have broken ALL my ribs if he didn't had the pads on". Much respect. Awesome sparring as usual from these champions. Now imagine YOU getting kicked in the ribs by superlek 🥶💀😂

Even though it's only sparring, Liam is not aggressive in the first attack, liam just waits, while superlek, attacks immediately, and liam waits but not with counters who can get points. even if it's just an ordinary spar

Very professional spar here. I've seen sparring sessions in the west and jesus they don't know how to spar. They treat it like an actual fight so stupid.

Can anyone answer if this sparring is too hard, seems like most other Thais like doing that joking smiling light sparring, while some like these two do the harder sparring, or do all Thais do hard sparring and we just don't see it?

im not sure about superlek but liam has a big fight coming up soon vs nong o so as the fight gets closer he will return to light sparring , this spar was probably from mid fight camp where fighters are more likely to go harder in sparring , its all up to what coaches and fighters think is best. In most cases this is definitely too hard sparring

They’re throwing good, solid strikes but they’re doing it controlled. You see Liam catch superlek a couple times and you can see superlek catch Liam a couple times. But they don’t dwell on it or let it fuel their emotions. Seems like they get caught then accept it as a result of training and move on to the next exchange. Also, notice how they’re super close from each other while not swinging hard punches, all while not wearing mouthpieces. They’re; definitely keeping things at a good pace while also having good intensity. A good example of hard sparring that isn’t beneficial and destructive is the fools from the goat shed gym.

Yes we know. It’s expected. Father Time gets to everyone. At some point, superlek will be in the same position. Over the hill and sparring a younger fighter who is in their peak.

They’re both high level fighters and were chilling the whole 3 rounds. They could have easily both broken ribs if they wanted to…also hence no mouthpiece.

In Thailand before rehearsing on stage The Muay Thai camp will ask foreign boxers what kind of sparring they want: technique, tactics, speed, or a kick endurance test. I think Liam needs to practice his technique. and durability from kicking force approx. 25% off superlek. which is neither too light nor too strong for training.

The important thing is that it was controlled. The intensity is there. Superlek is indeed throwing some hard strikes but it’s controlled. They’re both giving each other the respect to not go too wild and get too emotional. It was a good session for damn near 99% of it.
