Owen Morris their producer at the time has been on the record stating that Liam was given the choice of Wonderwall or Don't Look Back In Anger and he chose Wonderwall. Liam sang Some Might Say and Rockin' Chair which both have notes just as high as Don't Look Back in Anger. In fact, they are both harder songs to sing that stay higher in their respective choruses for longer than Don't Look Back In Anger does. How would he have been unable to sing it? I've seen a lot of people on the internet saying this and I just don't understand where it comes from. Liam also nailed a take of Step Out which again has A4s like the highest note in Don't Look Back In Anger

Keep in mind you're hearing Liam's voice essentially superimposed over Noel's voice in this video. In other words, you're hearing Noel's range and intonation here. If Liam really sang this song, it would be in a lower key and potentially less melodic. It still would have been a f**king great song tho.

Not a major Oasis fan, in fact I never noticed/paid attention to their differences. What I hear here is that Liam does have a prettier voice, though I feel Noel's voice can work better in other songs, but maybe that's just biassed because I'm so used to hearing it one way.

Interesting, and cool - but clearly not Liam (I know it's AI). AI can reproduce the tone - but there's just not enough "fuck you" in the delivery. Even Noel puts the "punctuation" in the original version.

Let’s be real; Noel had no business singing any of these songs. His ego got in the way. His voice is nice but he sounds like everyone else. Liam’ voice is generational and unique. He should have sung all their songs. Yes, Noel wrote them, but he should have had the musical foresight to know his brother was the voice and the true cash cow of the band. You can play an instrument, you wrote the songs, you would have gotten your credit. Now I know why they broke up. Noel had Liam on stage with a tambourine looking like a knob while on Noel’ vocals.

Really don't think it's that black and white. A huge part of Oasis' success was definitely Liam's iconic voice. If Noel had been the frontman then I doubt they would have reached the same level of success. Regardless though, Noel had some absolute gems that worked perfectly with his voice (Shout it Out Loud, Talk Tonight).

I promise you, any song Noel sang Liam does better. Liam’ voice is unique as it is iconic. Noel? Good singer but we’ve heard that voice before.
