ive watched these videos for years and i find them so enigmatic... that false window.... that strange costume... that unbelievable precision and accuracy.....

She is truly unbelievable, seeing her play Paganini and then this is so shocking.

This is perhaps the finest performance ever played on a guitar.

When I left China 66 years ago, there was hardly any Chinese musician of Western music there. The recording industry used musicians from Russia, Jews from Europe and Americans in their orchestras. On the ship coming to America, there were lots of Philipino musicians on board, going home from Shanghai where the Communists just took over (1949). They were employed in orchestras and night clubs. Today, I am very happy to see and hear accomplished musicians like Li Jie.

The Shanghai Municipal Orchestra was run by an Italian. Earlier Puccini visited that city and conceived the idea for the opera Turandot.

He escuchado aproximadamente 12 interpretaciones diferentes de esta obra en youtube, pero esta es sin dudas la mejor. Por lejos, la más clara y bella interpretación de La Gran Jota en youtube, muy posiblemente en todo el mundo actual y probablemente la mejor interpretación de todos los tiempos. No estoy exagerando, eres impresionante Li Jie. ¡Bravo!

I have been fortunate to have heard Costas Cotsiolis playing this piece twice at live concerts here in Athens. Years back, once when he was your age and a few years later, at his twentys. So, when I say Bravo Miss Jie, I mean it.

This is my favorite guitar performance ever, period.

Exquisite technique, even just resetting the strings after the snare with the right hand, just brilliant.

Es simplemente perfecta su técnica e interpretación, por ahi andan diciendo algunos que creen tener el criterio de lo que es la música y en este caso la guitarra y más exactamente Li Jie, por su ignorancia afirman "que toca con tristeza, como si fuese obligada, y que lo que sienten es lástima de ella", como les parece tal afirmación. En mi caso diria que Li Jie no necesita de gestos ni musarañas para tocar,pues la madurez que ella tiene lo proyecta simple y sencillamente con sus manos y su alma.

7:20 to 7:40 is what shredding started as =D Li Jie is one of the greatest classical players in the entire world. She plays with the stoicism that originally defined classical guitarists as technicians of the instrument and executes these songs almost flawlessly with extraordinary technique. Simply put, amazing.

man this is just so incredible. I've seen this vid more than 100 times and learned an awful lot about guitar since I first saw this and this is still just so amazing. If Tarrega were still alive... I've heard quite a few versions of this and this is hands down the most delightful. There's a childlike happy essence in this song and her playing, even without seeing her carries that forward so clearly. There are moments of maturity, but it does always come back to the beauty of youth. Sublime.

Bravo! Terrific interpretation! She is on the level of Parkening and the world's best in terms of technique and interpretation. My only wish for these terrific players is for them to create new pieces. They have the technique and the study, please now surpass the father and grandmaster of classical guitar, Francisco Tarrega, by creating something new!

Esta "Gran Jota" de F. Tárrega es melódica, rítmica y ese ritmo debe mantenerse, con los debidos matices desde luego. Parece fácil pero es una obra de gran complejidad por la cantidad de variaciones que tiene. Observé y escuché atentamente la interpretación de Li Jie y creo que cumple con el objetivo. Me parece que lo hace muy bien. Felicitaciones.

Al verla ejecutar con frialdad en su rostro pero con mucho sentimiento en sus manos y prácticamente cantar las notas a través de sus manos transmite todo el sentimiento a la guitarra. Es extraordinaria les doy la razón a muchos al decir que quizás es la mejor interpretación de esta obra musical tan difícil donde se demuestra al menos el 90 % de toda la técnica Guitarristica sólo faltó la imitación del clarinete y Trompeta. Felicidades maestra.
