That hissing noise you noticed quieting down was not the eev’s they are located on the indoor units individually. That was was the hot gas bypass shutting be cause you had put enough gas in that they weren’t need to prop up the suction pressure any longer.

Just setting the setpoints lower isn't the best way to put the system into a full load operation. What you need to do is to turn on Dip switch #5 at the ODU, go to "Fdd" mode using the arrow/confirm buttons, and go to "Fd8" for full cooling(or Fd9 for full heating), and then push the confirm button. After a few minutes after it initializes, it should display 6000(countdown from 60 minutes). Also, LG has specific functions in the ODU to measure the charge to let you know how much to add/remove.

It is my understanding that discharge superheat (discharge pressure temperature - discharge temperature) should also give you a good indication of charge. Below 60F flooding back, above 90F low charge or bad windings. I believe the the system sets compressor speed from this reading.

I’m using the same module but can’t get it set up any way you could give feedback? Can’t find anyone to call. When I hook it up it says I’m missing a key, but I don’t see a driver key and it didn’t come with the usb version I see online.
