This film tells three stories of Japanese people whose gender identities do not fit the traditional gender norms and suffer.
Kimi-chan and Cika-san, a transgender man and cis gay man couple.
The pair just got married, and Kimi-chan is expecting.
They wanted to be parents and decided to have their biological child.
And Alice, a transgender woman.
She chose to undergo sex reassignment surgery with great family support.
And lastly, Takakiito, a transgender man.
Even though Japanese law doesn’t recognize him as a male since he has not had sex reassignment surgery, he is living with his wife and son as a father in a rural village.
They all try to be true to who they are even while facing such adversity.
And their way of living addresses a question to us: what really is gender?
