Some poles spin, some don’t. They require different skill sets. When the pole spins you can do tricks that look like you’re spinning without having to loosen your grip which means you don’t automatically slide down the pole while spinning. With poles that stay put you have a looser grip in order to get yourself to spin around the pole and you will slide down the pole. Both styles are super cool in their own ways :)

"I feel like 13 is such an age." Yep. Even for people who didn't know they were part of the LGBTQIA-- specifically the A, in my case. My aro self was so confused about why everyone suddenly found it so important to talk about their crushes all the damn time, and the adults telling me I would start feeling that way too, any day now, whether I wanted to or not. It was so frustrating. But y'all, I promise it gets better. For the young folk reading this, puberty and adolescence will come to an end, and you will find your people, whoever they may be. Stay strong.

I only just recently realized I’m the A. I remember doing what Jaiden Animations described because my parents, aunts, uncles, and grandparents started pressuring me about my crushes when I was six. Thought that came to my mind lately: When someone says "you never be a real woman" (or man in the case of ftm, or nb, etc.) Imagine someone going to an adopted child, and telling them "you never be their real child". In both situations, it's biologically true (or partially biologically true in the case of trans folk), but it completely ignores the social and emotional part of the thing, not to mention that it's just rude and generally asshole behavior.

Yesterday I passed in public for the first time 😊. I was at the mall and my sister asked me to pick up some shorts for her daughter at a sports wear store and sent me a link and the size and when I went to pick them up I showed the employee the picture and she looked at me and kinda hesitant said "those are women's shorts...". I just said "I know, they're for my niece." She nodded, took me to the display, asked me what size I needed and handed me the right one. The cashier also seemed to view me as a guy.

I can so relate to the one where the girl is saying "my young self trying to convince me I'm straight... WOMEN!" As a bisexual, my brain did that to me starting around the age of 11 or 12 when I started to slowly realize I was actually bi. I grew up in a religious household and was very deeply in the closet. I finally came out at 19. Everything went well thankfully but it sure wasn't fun doing that to myself, even if I had my reasons. I can laugh about it nowadays though, well a part of it... that part being me at several points in my life actually thinking I WAS straight which is obviously hilarious compared to being in the closet because I felt like I had to be. 😂

The Wedding-TikTok made me wanna share something with you. My partner came out to me as trans 2 weeks ago or so and before that, she always was like "no, I do not want to get married, it's silly and an event people spent way to much money on." After she came out, I asked her, if she could imagine marrying me in 5 or 10 years or so, after she is done transitioning (at least mostly done), if we are still together and she said yes and was very excited. So every time, one of us is overwhelmed with the situation, we look at dresses and rings and how we're going to cut the cake with a sword (her wish) or something and it makes us really happy 😊. (Guess I have to figure out my sexuality now, cause after the first shock, I kind of didn't mind the idea of having a girlfrind from now on😅)

The majority of real trans people, if they're not rushing into it the way they're being pressured to now and have actually had the desire their entire lives, will not be "mostly done" with their transition in 5 years. It's a really fucked up world we live in now where people can permanently alter their bodies with no mental evaluation prior in just a matter of time that will ultimately seem like an eye blink later down the road.

@@pigeon_person Thank you, I just liked it enough to bring it up! One of the excellent features of Jamie's book is that it includes commentary from Shaaba, Jamie's wife, as well as comments from other trans folk about their own journeys and experiences. It also includes commentary for cis people like me, who cannot understand directly what being trans means, and how we can best support people who are, or are coming out as trans. Jamie's been very open about the difficulties he and Shaaba have faced together. My only regret is that the bookstore I bought it from, Waterstones, just had the one copy on display and they'd tucked it away on a shelf so only the spine was visible, which is why I had to ask staff to find it for me. It was a needle in a haystack! The reason I bought it at the bookshop rather than online as I'd normally do these days, was so that staff would realise there's an interest in it. One thing Jamie's taught me is that optimism needs to be indefatigable! He's a beacon of good hope for others. :)

2:05 actually the pole can be static or spinning, you can change to whatever you like. In pole sports competitions it's mostly required to have one spinning and one static pole and you should use them both a certain amount of time. Personally I think static pole is better to learn new moves on and is easier, but with spinning you can create some very pretty flow in your routine and makes basic moves look harder than they actual are imo

Man means adult human male. Trans->hoing beyond/across of sonething and I really, rrally doubt that you were able to change your clearly female sex chromosomes/organs. So what are you? A female, a woman. Who is a "not cis man"? Oh right...she is a female. A woman. I only assume of course, but the fact that you gave birth in itself shows that you are the opposite of any kind of man.

Correction: some of the poles spin, sometimes! Poles come in a lot of different varieties (including Chinese poles, which I LOVE), but with metal poles, there are 2 kinds: spinny ones and not spinny ones. Also, the spinny ones have a peg you can use to make them not spinny!
The red shoes with the black suit and black shoes with the red dress couple had the same energy as that spongebob scene where he's wearing pink undies and Patrick is wearing yellow ones!
Not watched the video yet lol only up to the bit about Jamie's book. I preordered mine then ended up in temporary housing so I couldn't get the book right away, so I downloaded the audio book and it was amazing ♡ my sister picked my copy up for me afew days later and I have read it already. I have recommended it to everyone , even my doctor at my local gender clinic, they may add it to their recommendation list which I think is great. Anyways I feel like a proud dad 😅
Reading Jamie's book. It's hard to describe... part autobiography, part support, part explanatory, it just delves into trans experience with an constant emphasis that not everyone's journey is the same. Many roads lead to Rome. Reading it as a cis gay male brings out the commonalities as well as the differences between gay and trans experiences in our wonderful western society! It's written in a light, folksy style, even though it references academic research as well

ZOMFG GONGRATS! I'm five months in and I've never felt more comfortable in myself! Seriously though the depending on how high your T levels are to start our with it could take some time for even the initial physical effects like skin softening or sore nipples (seriously get ready for those: they aren't called growing pains for nothing) to show up, but at least for me the psychological effects came within the first two weeks. It's a hell of a ride, but one well worth taking. Welcome to the sisterhood!

When I read bits out loud (of your book) to my husband I do it in a Jamie voice 💜
On the first video, the pole doesn't always spin. I mostly practice on a static pole, with a spinning pole you need to get the feeling for how much power you use to push yourself or you'll get nauseous. But it definitely looks impressive once you got it Edit: I think the clip was on a static pole, but I'm tired so idk
Checks comments to confirm that the pole really spins💀
Thanks!

So excited I received your book!!!! ❤️❤️ It so far

The "homosexual audacity" is a way of life at this point x') My job is to be crafty (litterally), half of the things I'm doing are like "yeah, I know the theory. I'm gonna make it work" and I make it work in the end. It's like the "f*ck it I'm gay" energy.
