Small updates I wanted to mention as well: HDR Experience: it's there but barely. Is it worth turning on in windows? on W10 I would say definately not, in W11; maybe but I won't be using W11 because I am not a fan of it so your mileage may very. Also, thank you to the few that commented about the OLED Health mode on the remote that I missed. Finally, after using HDMI 2.1 for a bit and 240Hz with 10 bit color enabled... I don't notice a difference and for a gaming monitor with pretty bad color stock without calibrating, it really doesnt make a huge differnce, I wouldn't trust it for pro color work either. I have a few more OLED monitors we will be taking a look at very soon in the next couple of weeks so stay tuned!!

Been using this monitor for about 2 weeks and it’s an absolute monster. Never had a display that was this smooth before it’s like melted butter shifting through a pan. It’s kinda dim but in hdr it’s bright enough (I personally don’t like super bright displays because they hurt my eyes.) this is the perfect compliment to my c2 I use for story games.

It would make sense to use HDMI 2.1 in case you use NVIDIA GPU and, since the monitor doesnt have G-Sync Ultimate, the only way to have 1440p 240HZ with VRR and HDR 10bit color is HDMI 2.1. With DP 1.4 you can have the same by only using DSC.
This monitor is great. Bought it close to launch and been nothing but impressed an happy with it. It’s well more than bright enough super fast an looks amazing. If u hating on the monitor its just cuz you can’t afford it sorry.

There is an oled health button on the remote. The button looks like a little monitor, and it's the bottom most middle button on the remote. It opens a menu which lets you select screen shift, screen saver, as well as manually initiate pixel refresh (1 minute) or image refresh (10 minutes).

Thanks for the honest review. I've been waiting for a proper gaming oled display for years now and was considering pre-ordering this display. Gotta say I'm confused by your try-hard comments though. I'm casually optimistic regarding the OLED gaming PC Monitors that's coming this year, including this one. Don't get me wrong, I love the deep blacks & not having to worry about any kind of backlight bleed and so on with OLED PC Monitors, but what keeps me on my toes is the durability. PC Desktop use often consists of static elements on the screen over longer periods of time, so I'm hoping that burn-in is an issue of the past when it comes to the new 27 inch OLED panels made by LG Display.

I have the same outlook as well. I’ve seen so many people post their burn in issues on Reddit with the Alienware qdoled I’ve been getting more and more hesitant on picking up an oled monitor as a daily driver (mix of content consumption, gaming and the odd spreadsheet when I’m working on my gaming Pc)
@califorupha1574

@@AsianAnimeRuLe I don't think you should worry too much about burn-ins a bunch depending on how you use it. If you abuse the heck out of it like letting it sit on a static white imagine for like 8 hours a day, it's going to be more apparant and the obvious cause of burn-ins. Also there's only a few sample size just based off a reddit post, don't let it deter from making a purchases decision. You should be fine as well since Dell comes with a 3 year warranty on the Alienware QD Oled.

You do know you can recalibrate the monitor to produce better color accuracy, right? Also, did you enable HDR in the Windows settings? Only W11 has Auto HDR. Great Review! But two questions, 1) Is the matte coating an issue in low (or NO) lighted rooms? I.e. do the blacks look as deep in those conditions as they do on glossy oled? (Obviously I don't expect a matte display to look as good when there's significant light, but I would only use it in dark/very dim rooms). 2)Can you store a calibrated profile on the monitor so you can use it with consoles? Thanks, keep up the good work.
@TooMuchTech
Жыл бұрын
In a dark room, even with ambient lighting, the Matte is not an issue at all. The brightness difference is mostly going to come down to the panel tech difference (ex, the Alienware vs the LG) that’s going to be the most perceivable. Just slapping a Glossy coating on this one isn’t going to make it significantly brighter or more or less nice to use. Will it increase clarity a bit? Yes, but it won’t change overall panel characteristics

MLA will only be on the G3, they left it out of the C3 unfortunately
What about text? I've seen other vids that complained about the sub pixel problems.
do you notice the difference between the175hz qd-oled vs the 240hz woled in terms of the motion blur?

I do not, they are both crystal clear pretty much

This is a very important answer to me, thank you for that. So outside of the form factor the LG doesn't feel faster than the Alienware in any way?

@@chrisbeasley4727 It is hard to understand the difference between 165Hz and 240Hz.... my old 165hz monitor feels almost as smooth as this monitor. However I can tell you that the brightness is low so its for fast paced games but not all games. However QD-OLED has text fringing and I don't see any on this LG monitor

@@Jimster481 yeah I'm starting to lean to the Alienware if I update my PG279Q

Alienware, I love that Ultrawide. If that was 240hz, I’d end monitor reviews
Compare it to Odyssey G7 VA and LG C2 and Alienware QD OLED and Panasonic OLED please, Just for gaming, I do not care about "productivity". Can you please?
What would be the absolute best 2K gaming monitor for xbox series X, budget is around 1199 UK pounds. obviously don't need higher than 120hz as xbox cant go above that but most "best" monitors go above that anyway so it's no biggie, regardless, this new Oled would be sweet, but i've also seen a few Asus, LG and MSI monitors that get good reviews.
Is it comortable for the eyes? I have the lg 27GP850 nano ips and after 1 hour use i have headache

Less bright than that I’m sure, max brightness it shouldn’t hurt your eyes, it’s actually pretty comfortable without strain so that’s why the brightness I do not think is an issue

I can play on my 27" oled all day with no issues on the eyes.

All you have to do is put the AW in 16.9 when playing warzone and its a 27 inch panel. This is what i do when playing cod. I just got 27 inch oled last night to test out and the AW oled is definitely brighter and crisper with that glossy panel. I will probably return the LG.
no pause straight play 😩😆
the muhammed ali of gaming monitors right there !
Not currently available at Amazon
When is that Asus monitor coming out?
Idk why these monitors don’t have blue tooth, can someone explain to me why not?
Is the Monitor too dark in Dark Games where you can't see what your doing wondering about Dead Space the Game.

You can turn up the Black EQ and it makes those areas brighter
