I had some troubles, but I figured it out. Here are some tips. Have a 10 mm slim wrench available, and a wide set of pliers or vice-grips that can open up 2" or so. At 1:36 (1 min 36 into video) you need to drill a small pilot hole for the screw - I used a 3/32" drill bit. You'll also need to drill pilot holes for other screws later. At 2:09 I needed the slim 10 mm wrench - my socket wrench wouldn't fit because part of the bracket gets in the way (and my socket extension bit was too wide to help). At 2:24 before you remove the bracket at the bottom right corner of the fridge, shim the bottom of the fridge at the front left and front right of the fridge so the bottom is about 2" from the ground. You need the shims for support when you move the bottom right bracket to the bottom left side, and you also need a 2" clearance to unscrew the "leveler" (the round, black foot that is about 2 and 3/4 of an inch from the bottom left corner). At 2:48 unscrew the leveler with wide-mouth pliers - turn clockwise from your perspective looking down. Screw the leveler into the matching small hole 2 and 3/4" from the bottom right of the fridge (feel for the hole underneath). At 3:01 the video doesn't show you the fridge-door latch, and they forgot to tell you to unscrew this latch. The latch is a sort-of J-shaped thingy that they call the "door closer" when they show you the similar freezer-door latch at 1:31 - my freezer latch is black and my fridge latch is white). Just after 3:19 flip the fridge-door latch over and screw it into the circular recess that you can see though the hinge pin insert (after you have moved and installed the hinge pin insert). You are flipping the fridge-door latch the same way you did for the latch on the freezer door at 1:36. One last thing, when I dropped the freezer door into place, the top left of the freezer door looked 1/4" higher than the top right. It's supposed to be that high, and the top right will rise a bit to match when you screw the bolts into the hinge on top surface of the fridge (at the top left corner).

I got all the way to the end and the top hinge does not line up with the set pins and bolts. I tried forcing it the way the hinge is designed but the door won't shut properly.

I watched the video several times. I also followed all of D B's instructions as well (D B's instructions are in the comments below). All done! Reversed doors successfully. Couldn't have done it without D B's instructions for sure!!

If you use this video and follow along with the comment from DB, you will get this done fairly easily. The original instructions in the box should be used for toilet paper, then burnt. This video alone was really lame. Thanks again to DB for laying out the missing pieces.

The hinge bracket didn’t quite line up on he left side when flipped, the screw specifically. The freezer door is just a hair off, but it closes. This video was really helpful!

Exactly the same problem I had today, after flipping the freezer door is just slightly higher and doesn't close like it did originally. I'm hoping once it breaks in it will fully close without a little extra nudge. The way my kids slam doors it will be broke in by next week!

Good, clear directions. I would add how to align the freezer door if still not angled correctly when finished. That would be to unbolt the 3 freezer hinge bolts, have someone shift the freezer door up or down at the far end to correct position, then retighten the hinge bolts (all per instructions in the manual). Also, the freezer door seems to be positioned a bit higher after reversal.

Excellent and thorough video; much appreciated when I switched my own LG LTCS20020 doors. Some small additions: 1. I needed to punch a hole though the plastic where the screws attach at three spots. It only took a couple of gentle taps with an awl to punch though. 2. Some hardware has slightly changed with my new LG refrigerator, but it was easy to figure out; the stuff can only go on one way. 3. One refrigerator leveling knob needs to be switched to the opposite side, which was kinda a pain since the refrigerator front needs to be tilted up onto a shim to access the knob. The entire project took about an hour and the doors are so lightweight that a child could lift them.

Worst experience of my home improvement year, this door swap. Bolts so stuck it took breaking sockets to get them off, screws that don't go in, stripping left and ritght, missing parts, literally a struggle for just a bolt to come out or go in the way it is supposed to at EVERY step. At least the process is done now, but lame 100. Oh and you forgot to mention that on some models you have to move the leveling foot to the other side, or, you don't have a foot there...

update your instructions. You missed the part on the door hinge for the bottom large door. You have included the door hinge part on top freezer door however totally failed to show and instruct the owners as to what to do with the bottom/Refridgerator door. Instruction via KZread is so much better than paper. It is impossible to figure out words and sentences in the paper user manual. Thank you

Agree with @D B on rhe problems. There were a lot when i did this but overall this guide is still useful. Just needs to be updated. I found this video really helpful in showing me how to quickly change the leveling foot so the fridge didn't lean over after I reversed the door and shifted the door hinge base (which acts as a leveler). kzread.info/dash/bejne/qXyZzpiAhNHIirw.html putting my phone camera on reverse so that it acted like a mirror and then sticking it partially under the fridge when I had it lifted made it easier to unscrew and remount the fridge foot on the other side. Good luck to you all.

you can remove foot simply. we just did it by hand. but, it was opposite to normal usage - turn right to loosen. (don't know if this matters, but ours was LG LTCS20020S which is a top freezer style fridge.)

There is big plastic knob on the side. You have to tilt and place a shim at the front of the refrigerator, unscrew one of the plastic knobs, and place it on the opposite side.

LG you need to do better on your instructions. You forget to advise that when driving in screws on the left side that the holes have a plastic membrane over them which requires you to press very hard to drive the screws into the left side holes. And because the screws are not self threading, this is difficult! ALSO, there are no instructions on requiring the move of the leveling foot from the left side to the right side. AND the right side hole in which that leveling foot needs to go is also covered in a plastic/fabric membrane that needs to be pried out in order to screw in the leveling foot on the right side.

Just popping in to say this is NOT the procedure for model LTCS20020S, purchased in the year of our Lord 2024. In this particular POS model, some team of genius engineers designed the fridge door bracket to mount to the UNDERSIDE of the unit, facing the floor, so I had to remove the entire contents of the fridge and freezer then dangerously tilt the unit backward so I could work underneath it to perform what was a much more complicated procedure. My 20-year-old Kenmore fridge (purchased from Sears - remember them?) has a far and away better design. Plus, the optional ice maker sold separately on the LG website - which specifically said it was compatible with my model - was in fact NOT COMPATIBLE. This is the last LG appliance I will ever purchase.
