Awesome review, definitely helpful for people considering this model and/or going tiny. I do often hear that these machines don’t dry, so extra thanks for including that information as well, for me that was the most helpful portion.

Yeah some clothes come out immediately after the cycle and the humidity from inside makes them feel damp, but they are not. Bulky items and things like towels do take longer to dry though.

Is there a lint filter like in a dryer? I know you showed the “filter” at the bottom right of the machine, but my current washer has that. It’s to prevent large items (say a paper clip, which I’ve found in my machine in that lower right hand filter) from getting caught further along the water drain. Im just curious where the lint goes during drying. A repair guy on KZread says they start out drying well but after a while they need to be serviced on inside to clear out junk so that the dryer keeps working well. Thanks

No there is not. Since this is steam it recycles the air it uses. Therefore, you don’t have to route a heat or lent filter.

So the dryer aspect is a condenser type? I have an old 3.22 cu ft. model. With these units, the condensing duct inside gets clogged with lint and the unit will not dry. After 4-5 years, I had to remove the top, unscrew the blower motor and clean out the duct with a Zip-It tool. Good machine, otherwise. Mine is ~15yrs old and finally needs replacing.

Tub cleaning powder is not made to be dispensed through the tray, you are supposed to put it directly into the tub. Also, the smart diagnosis feature is different from controlling the machine. It only checks the components of the machine.

Andy thank you for your feedback, I should have elaborated more on the tub cleaning & app. The powder or pods have to be put into the machine, but I was talking about the tub cleaning liquid. In regards to the smart app and diagnosis. When you download the LG ThinQ app you can check the status of the wash and stop the machine. You can also start the machine being away from but you have to press the remote start button for 3 seconds and put the clothes, detergent and how you would like to wash. And when you leave your home you can press start on the app.

I'm not worried about the smaller loads since I don't need to do laundry very often anyways. On average we (my wife, baby & I) spend about $85 (500 kWh) per month that includes our heating, cooling and lights (everything except oven cooking) in our one bedroom. Also we do wash our clothes about three to four times a week. So if I had to estimate just the washer/dryer I would say It would be about $1 a month. The Energy guide estimates you will spend $14 a year if you wash six times a week. In your case if you just use once a week it would probably be like 25 cent a month.

Also, some clothes come out so wrinkled. And of course it wastes a lot of energy with the very long cycles. It’s really a product that shouldn’t be in the market. I reached out to LG and mentioned that I’m really disappointed with the product and wanted to return it they dismissed my concerns although I only had it for one week! Don’t waste your money
