We have this for about a year now. We barely knock on the panel and just straight up open the door to save time cause sometimes it doesnt respond.

Aron Benafill For fridges, Panasonic, Hitachi, or Mitsubishi electric. Air conditioners, stick with Daikin, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, or Panasonic.

Yes..

I had a LG refrigerator, the compressor gradually failed in 5 years. As an engineer, I decided try to fix it to learn about refrigeration systems. Discovered black powder within the refrigeration lines as the source of failure, which points to improper brazing (not using inert gas purge) technic at the factory. So don’t buy an LG refrigerator unless you are willing to swap out the compressor in 5 years.

Don’t you have a consumer protection department/company in your country? If you could get more people with failing compressors due to the black stuff, you may file a claim against lg ?

If only they make a fridge that lays down. Cold would never leave fridge and if it had that knock knock feature.. I'd be well happy.. Also if they had a split fridge freezer.. done.

It's truly a pain when the Custom Chill drawer temperature set to 29°, resets to 42° with the slightest power outage. On vacation? All your meats thaw and spoil. Fridge isn't big enough to hold pizza boxes.

The InstaView is garbage. After 2 years it stopped responding to knocks BUT will respond to room level voices. No way to turn this feature off and the clowns at LG want charge for a service call which is clearly a basic adjustment or a firmware issue.

no, homedepot.com reviewer for this model said it is not really stainless steel as magnets don't stick.

LG LFXS29766 Bought 12 months ago. Stopped cooling 5 days ago. Serviceman says needs new compressor but there is not a compressor for this fridge in this entire big city. They ordered one which may arrive in two days but probably 4 or 5 days. The LG service # tested over the phone and told me the door was open! They finally gave me two phone numbers to call for service.....one which was closed on weekends and the second number was for a company 600 miles south of where I live! In total frustration I called Lowes where I bought this crappy product and they have been wonderful in expediting a repair visit and now that there is no compressor available for repair, Lowes is going to loan me a fridge until I can get the one I purchased repaired. They are going to deliver it to my home. Lowes has been wonderful.. .....DON'T BUY LG PRODUCTS. The serviceman says to buy Whirlpool or KitchenAid.

Yes, I feel your pain. We have an LG as well. Bought it back in 2015. I've gone through 2 fridges of the same model with the SAME problem... ice accumulation in the back of the freezer which ends up messing with the cooling mechanism and now the water and ice screen are not working. After many service calls to lowes and years of pain we're finally getting it replaced and not only that but as a customer gesture they are hooking us up with an upgrade to the appliance so now I'm shopping for a fridge. Guess we'll be staying away from LG .

Does anyone really suffer from cold air loss though? This seems a bit useless, fixing a non-problem.

South Korean appliance makers are the new Chinese. Our experience with LG washers and an inverter Samsung refrigerator has been lackluster in less than two years. If you want quality and reliability go for Japanese brands like Hitachi, Mitsubishi Electric, and Panasonic, the new Panasonic washer I bought is used twice a week on full load and has been reliable, just as silent and smooth running since day one - three years ago. The LG washer we bought started creaking and making weird noises in a year. Tao years down the road the control panel and parts in the drum started falling apart with the same usage as my Panasonic.

Japanese brands have lost its competitiveness for a long time . They never innovate but keep lifting prices . I had a Hitachi refrigerator which costed me 1600 USD some years ago . Now the alike model will cost around 2400 USD . While still they are about the same .

There are lemons everywhere. My LG washer and dryer has been going for 7th year now. No problems whatsoever.

All that wasted plastic space. Just buy a commercial unit where the whole thing is glass. It's about the same for a year in electric use and half the price. You just have to change your kitchen setup as they are usually different height and width. But you'd need a separate unit for freezer.

LG next gen refrigerators require gas charging every 3-6 months. Otherwise it wont work. LG charges for it everytime. Its not covered in warranty. Beware.

As I faced in Samsung 600ltr for a year Samsung tech was not able find the leak and told me to sell in scrap Lg technician Al came and find leak in 10 mins repaired in an hour now it around 10th anniversary of fridge still working 1 year of gas charging in 1,2,3,& 6 months but also go for second opinion and u will get good news as me

Too much technology only to knock and see through the glass. Is that really necessary in real life? I think is just a useless and expensive gimmick

Looked cool at first but I'm going with GE over LG and Samsung now. Hearing too many complaints about instaview quality, and frankly, the concept of looking in a fridge before opening it is stupid; the smart fridge idea, still even more stupid.

Nah I am good. Still choosing my miele over anything thats offered by any other brand.

I regret buying the LG dishwasher along with this sorry refrigerator. Never again will I spend money on any LG product again.

unnecessary inventions, I need a new fridge (lightning took mine). I thought white would be timeless but not even available in white. This is what happens when you get whatever color fad is popular then the fad changes and you need to replace just on appliance.
