This is what worked for me. Strange but very simple, i put my phone down on the floor, and then i put some pressure on it with my hands, a lot of pressure on the place where my screen was not working and that fixed it for me, strange but it is working :D

It has happened to me with 2 lg verizon g2, the same place on the screen stops working. before passing the touch that gets mad and after rebooting the phone stops responding unlocking and double tap in that the touch is not answered

I have a problem my lg g2 has an update but when I clicked the update button I restored and wiped everything and I was stuck on twrp but luckily I figured out how to get out of twrp but I still wanna install the update but I'm afraid to do it cuz it may get stuck on tarp how to fix that problem

Hey, I'm having the same issue, but mines is even worse, o know for sure that the left bottom corner of the screen, is NOT working. Also the brightness at the top don't work at all, can't move the adjust bar, I must go into settings and do it from there. I will take it to at&t but idk if they will do anything, because I bough it 4 months ago... do I have any options like factory insurance like you do? I bought it brand new.

It's the same exact spot on mine just that on mine it's way bigger. Is there a way to fix it?

i also bought the lg g2 unlocked version facing similar problems after few days of use...then i update its software and land into another big problem...now its not detecting any sim...also its touch is now behaving very randomly which was not there before software update...how did u rectify your problem...dat may help me too..thanks...

It's the sim card the main problem. It works sometimes when the sim card is out. Also the dead area corresponds exacty to where the sim card is located

Because I keep reading Posts stating, o fix it with a dialer coder and update touch firmware or I'm not double tapping it right. I tried the updates firmware. The issue on this video was acknowledged as an early known manufacturing defect having to do with the panel. They replaced it for free, super easy. Thanks

Go to Phone Dailer > type "3845#*800#" then go to Settings there > then tap on Update Touch Firmware. Go back to the main screen and then your knock On function will work perfectly.

The double tap screen thing is not working for him cus his taping it with his nail and another thing is that the double taping has to fast to able to wake up the screen

Actually, if you flash an LGD kernel on a JDI Panel you get lines, usually permanent lines, that run the length of your display. In this case, what ended up happening is a manufacturing defect that LG claimed as a known issue. The phone was swapped out under warranty very easily. As for the touch firmware update, the only thing that ever did for me was fix knock on knock off when I lost it after an official AT&T update before I filmed my last stock software review.

Hey Idk if this Will work for everyone but if you go to you dial pad to call someone just dial 1 to your voice mail and hang up. It should work for the moment then when you turn it off, it will go back to the issues if it does and you need to use it call 1 or anyone on your contacts then gang up. 😌

I have the same issue same area in my two lg g2 .to unlock the phone you have to make a little pause in the double tap

Similar issue with me. My touch freaked out, then next thing you know, my touch at the notification bar does not work anymore. Double Tap also, no longer works. I'm thinking of just buying a new digi, and go that route. I don't want to chance getting a replacement with a JDI panel lol.

Why not jdi, I have a vs980 assembled November using a jdi panel with no touch, screen issues or anything, no black lines either. Plus the jdi screen pixel layout is cleaner, no small cuts in the red and green subpixels(only visible under microscope) so its not as blue looking. Its awesome, I love my g2, even though its a PVS bin 1, I have amazing battery life with under volt -45, and 2.8ghz is no prob. I feel lucky with all these reports of lgd panels with problems like white or black lines. So u shouldn't be worried, you would be lucky.

Wow. I took my phone into T-mobil with the same problem. They tried to make me feel like I was the only one with this problem. Like it must have been me or something. I took it to another store an just got the replacement today. My phone normally does this when I am on a phone call. When I try to use the keypad it won't let me. It even stays black when I press the back button sometimes. Nice to know that its not just me.

Guys it's easy to fix. Find the secret menu from keypad and click settings and then update touch firmware. It should fix it.

Well I had to do a warranty exchange through AT&T and LG. I tot'd back to stock and swapped it right out. The replacement phone has been rocking no issues every since. I do know that you can swap the digitizer and screen out with JDI replacements available online. Just be wary as some JDI panels are not as friendly when flashing older ROMs. The newer ones seem to have figured it out though

I had to do a warranty exchange. Try the dialer code to enter the hidden menu and update the touch firmware. Mine was an early manufacturer defect.

I was going to try squig792000's solution below for my FreedomPop LG Volt. Instead of 3845#*800# I dialed 3845#*740#, pulling the 740 out of the model number. I was then going to go to settings, but I didn't even have to do that. Whatever that set of numbers did, it fixed the problem. Yay!

I am wondering if it was because I bought the phone two weeks after launch day. Maybe an early batch, but it lasted a bit before the issues cropped up. I will say that the replacement, aside from having a small imperfection on the bottom is perfect, no touch screen issues at all, not even ghost touches while texting, which was a HUGE annoyance.

O it didn't go away on its own. I used the LG Flashtool and took it back to stick and the issues, as bad as the ones in my video persisted. The replacement that I am still using today has been excellent. No ghost touches or dead spots at all

Its only for jdi panels...if you have lgd panel your good...but if you flash a lot of ROMs like this dude and don't check it can fuck up your phone happened to myne as well and when I got a replacement it was Lgd and the ROM I flashed before didn't affect it..

Okaaay... I found the way to fix this alr....First turn on airplane mode and remove ur sim card.....Second just use ur phone till it out of battery(till u Can't turn the screen on any more) the charge it to full and turn ur phone on.......Final step check ur phone if it fixed yet by use ur qmemos+ app to check, if it still not working just use ur phone till u check it back to normal...... When everything ok now just put on ur sim card and turn off airplane mode. (Really sorry for my bad writing and english) sent from my fixed g2

I had screen issues with the LG G2 so bought a G3 to replace it. Low and behold, six months after buying it I encounter screen issues again.

LG simply sucks, never LG again, not even a fridge.

I guess bending the phone causes the erratic screen behavior. LG G2 is weakly built and it crackles when you hold it tightly. Won't buy any LG products in the future..

LG sucks

So shouldn't I buy it now!!
