Two years later, you're still saving us money and hassle! A perfect video that really helped me diagnose that the high-limit thermostat was the culprit. Replaced both thermos per your recommendation and less than 48 hours and 14 dollars, we have a functioning dryer again. The high-limit thermostat was a bit of a hassle to take off as it was a tight squeeze through that hole and it was difficult to get leverage on the top screw that's close to the drum. A small power screwdriver would've helped that, but I lacked one of those. Reassembly with the new parts was much easier. Thank you for this video. It's people like you, taking the time to make videos to help others, that make the internet great.

I didn’t believe it when the freezer idea fixed the thermo fuse. We were in a bind and had to get the drying working that evening for my spouse to dry linens for her practice. You saved the day. This video should get an Emmy Award!

I can proudly call myself a washer and dryer technician now. I went through one thermal fuse and this video was the only helpful one. You'll always get that one guy that says "sounds like a vent issue" ... they are just the small problem in America. But add a hell of alot to our issues. Any who. I took my replacement thermal fuse froze it for a bit. Slammed it and it popped back out and replaced the thermostat and boom!

Anthony, thank you so much for this super helpful video! I had a repair guy tell me that he would have to take apart the machine to fix the problem, but with your video, i was able to diagnose the problem, order parts, and repair it myself. What a relief! You are so generous with your knowledge - it is much appreciated :)

Thank you so much for this video!!! Helped me figure out what was wrong in a short time. Unfortunately, I still had to disassemble the whole thing to get to these parts, but well worth it knowing I diagnosed the problem and was going in blind. Spent about 15 bucks on parts and my wife thinks I am a super handyman now!

Thank you for the video! Your diagnosing part was helpful to determine that I did not have a heat element issue. I may have a different LG, but I was able to hit the reset button in the bottom of the dryer without replacing the parts. I also followed your cleaning advice and got a big "lint python" out that likely caused it to trip. Mom of 3 here--fixed my dryer for free! Thank you so much!

FIXED!!! Only $60 later; not hundreds!! I feel smarter from watching your video and learned quite a bit because your delivery of details was excellent! You need to create more content; about any and everything! :)

Only a few minutes into the video and this is already the best video I've found out of 10+. Thank you! Unfortunately I found this video after I already took the whole thing apart. But I was able to use liquid propane to freeze the high limit thermostat, put the thing back together (after cleaning everything) and got my work close dry. Now if it goes bad I know how to easily access it without taking it all apart. My wife is going to be very grateful tonight 😉 thanks again!!!

Thank you very much for this video. It was right on for testing to see which parts were not working and which ones were. We layed our dryer on the left side and used the exhaust outlet hole and side access hole. We also put a small towel under the heater element with the dryer laying on its left side just in case we dropped the small screws. That saved us since we did drop a screw. You saved us lots of time and money and felt confident in fixing the dryer.

You did a really great job explaining how to run self diagnostics on LG dryer. Watch mini videos and none of them went into depth explaining everything quite as well as you did. Thank you for your help

Excellent video. Very well done. I just fixed my dryer thanks to your video. Used the freezer slam method...if the fuse goes again i will replace both parts as you rightly recommend (was in a hurry tonight).

Very good video, fixed my dryer in one hour because spent time testing the thermostat. A suggestion, I used a induction flatplate to heat the thermostat to see it's operation. Worked superbly. Our LG distribution did not have the parts, thus could not replace. Your idea to reset the breaker by putting in the freezer worked beautifully.
