LG C3 OLED Evo BEST Picture SETTINGS | 2023 All Screen Sizes

Ғылым және технология

Read our full review of the LG C3 OLED Evo TV here - www.avforums.com/reviews/lg-c...
These settings can be used with all 2023 LG TVs. These are the best out-of-the-box settings to get the image quality as close as possible to the industry standards so you can view film and TV content as it was mastered and intended to be seen. These are not calibrated settings as it is not advised to share calibrated settings as they should be for your individual video chain, room and environment and performed using a meter, pattern generator and software as the eye is incapable of making such adjustments.
We only ever supply tested and measured settings free of charge and based on getting close to the industry standards so you can watch TV and film content as it was mastered and intended to be seen.

I have a CS which is the C1 panel and C2 processor. I struggle to find the correct settings, I am always in a darkened room, I try to control as much light as I can. This is my 1st foray into OLED, not by choice, I had 2 LCDs fail on my so with my warranty coverage, had to get a better panel than I previously had, which was the Hisense dual cell SX65. Motion handling is much better than the SX, gaming is very responsive but I still fear the burnin, I have the tv on around 18 hrs a day with varied content. I am happy with the pref of the CS, this should last me till microLED becomes affordable.

It's all about personal preference. I don't give a fig for 'industry standards'. I don't use Filmmaker Mode because I have the picture perfect in other modes (for viewing HD, SD, B&W... etc.). It can only be 'wrong' if you don't like what you see, and that's the whole point of customising picture modes.

Very helpful video. Are the settings preserved across inputs? So, if I set-up HD/SD via the TV's tuner, then watch something connected to an HDMI input (Freeview box) so I need to set these all again? Similarly, if I set-up HDR10/DV from streaming apps. then use an HDMI input to feed HDR10/DV content, do I have to apply the settings again?

Hi I'm thinking about buying a C3 in the next week but have an important question to ask. I currently have a 55 inch CX, top of the range Sony avr, series X, apple TV 4k all hooked up. My question is about the internal apps on the C3 and audio, my CX internal apps will only play in compressed DD 5.1 when PASSTHROUGH is selected or compressed Atmos if Auto is selected, essentially meaning the internal apps are HDMI 2.0 limited which is incredibly annoying. Does the the C3 do the same thing?? All of my connected devices on the CX have no issue when PASSTHROUGH is selected, it's proper 2.1 and uncompressed. Thanks

Very nice video!! Quick question : I'm using the last firmware and was wondering if I'm the only one having this "issue". Using my C3 as a PC monitor on windows, I stick to SDR for desktop use, but once I play a video in HDR, the TV will detect the HDR content and switch mode. The screen turns black and it takes at least 6 or 7 seconds for the C3 to switch from SDR to HDR mode which is very annoying. On my previous LG oled B9 it was switching nicely under 2 seconds tops. Am I the only one? Thanks

No, because it forces other picture processing onto the image that scrubs detail and motion is changed, with the controls for those features greyed out. If you have a bright room, then the out-of-the-box settings shown are more than enough to provide a bright enough image. If you are in dim surroundings you may want to dial back the panel brightness to match your viewing room ambient lighting. I hope that helps.

Did you see how the whole screen flicks brightness every time you move the white selection cursor? (6:13 for example) It's the ABL to aggresive and it's very annoying! I'm a little disappointed with this tv because of this

@@blogdelbeto I gotta be honest I don’t think this tv has the ASBL issue at all and I’ve read in many forums that the issue is no longer present on the C3/G3. They just released an update for the older C2/G2 models (3.33.65) which have the same parameters as the newer C3/G3 and people are confirming that it is fixed. Make sure you disable AI Brightness. As I’ve said when I first took it out the box I saw aggressive lighting changes I messed around with settings and I’ve not seen the issue appear again, unlike my B2
